Okay, are we gonna have to tie everybody down and draw a little bit of everybody's blood to find out who's a furry?

Sounds good. Whoever's blood barks when exposed to fire will be eradicated.

Warp is just trying to frame me because he himself is a furry...or rather, the shmup equivalent of one. His persona is a spaceship, hence the username.

I have no problems with furries if they just keep it quiet. But that's just because I don't want to hear/read into anyone's fetishes regardless of their level of bizarreness. I mean, am I the only one who finds it nasty or ridiculous when people are proclaiming sexual attraction to video game characters? And because they're people and all. Just people with a weird fetish.

Personally, I've never understood why it's considered less normal to be attracted to video game characters. Most of the "real people" that normal people are supposed to fantasize about are just as artificial, manufactured, and unattainable as video game characters.

...And often contain more plastic. But you're right, Crosseyed: As far as we should be concerned, real celebrities are nothing more than fictional characters. While comparing, say, Jessica Alba to Samus works, comparing either of them to a human-proportioned wombat with boobs doesn't.

Technically speaking, the term "Furry" doesn't strictly refer to a sexual deviation. It's more of a [weird] lifestyle in which, much like in homosexual culture, the sexual aspect is more pronounced. The proper term for furry sexuality is "Yiff", which supposedly originates from the sounds foxes apparently make while mating.

Apparently.

I was more or less putting that second bit out there for anyone who wasn't totally aware. I should've made that clearer.

The way I understand it, though, most people who identify as furries aren't yiffies, at least not so blatantly. It's just that the normal ones aren't noticed as much because, for all intents and purposes, they're normal. And also because they're more reluctant to identify as furries the more that that label gets associated with negative implications.

I don't have a problem with them, really. People who spam yiff porn are obnoxious, to be sure, but not much more so than Big McLargeHuges constantly doing nothing but bragging about their heterosexual adventures, or Perez Hilton, or anyone else of any persuasion who makes a point of defining their public persona solely by sexuality and obnoxiousness.

As long as I'm making MST3K references that one or two of you might get, I'll point out that Mary Jo Pehl was spotted at a furry convention in 2003 (mentioned at the bottom of the page), which kind of puts that penguin costume scene in a new light.
