Title: The 12 Days of Deezer
Post by: Yoshisaurus Rex on November 27, 2006, 08:07:17 PM
Deezer the Snowman... a proud tribute to our grand leader in an unforgettable Christmas parody tune by the funny and brilliant mastermind, Lizard Dude.  This December I think we should have another holiday song, and now you can contribute to it! *desperately prays that this isn't a really stupid idea*

The song is "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and there's three things that people can do here (but no one has to do all of them).  First, people can make up verses to the song that are related to Mario or TMK. (I have an idea for the first day)  Other Christmas parodies are welcome too.

Second, those with microphones could record themselves singing a few of their favorite parts (days) and then someone can combine together at the end into one big, weird song!  If we don't have 12 people to sing the 12 verses, we could split them up evenly with 6 people singing 2 verses, 3 doing 4, etc.  We don't have to go through the whole song, but we can just cover the last verse and go over the twelve days.

Here's an example:

On the first day of Christmas, the Deezer gave to me... a cartridge of Mario 3 (OR) a butt-kickin' Nintendo Wii (Yoshisaurus Rex)
Second day... two turtle shells (YR)
Third day...
Fourth day...
Fifth day...
Sixth day...
Seventh day...
Eighth day...
Ninth day...
Tenth day...
Eleventh day...
Twelth day...

If no one wants to give it a shot, then I guess we'll just have to force LD do the whole thing. :)  Have fun and merry Christmas!
(Wow, I never have normal ideas!)

Awesome. I can't really contribute here now because I'd most likely ruin the whole thing. But...
/_\/_\ You found two-thirds of the Triforce!!
I made some cover art for Deezer the Snowman and Other Christmas Dukar (which got positive feedback even before I improved upon it, see below), so making it into a real album by TMKers would pwn. I'm working on "Here Comes Lizard Dude." If anyone has a link to a good "Here Comes Santa Claus" instrumental, let me know.

Here, I'll give it a shot:

-On the tenth day of Christmas, Deezer gave to me, ten bros.-a-leaping
-On the ninth day of Christmas, Deezer gave to me, nine princesses dancing
-On the sixth day of Christmas, Deezer gave to me, six Yoshi laying
-On the second day of Christmas, Deezer gave to me, two power gloves

That's all I got for now. Of, and for the first verse, how about we start off with the Mario 3 cartridge, than change between that and the other one you suggested?

Of course there would have to be
-On the fifth day of Christmas, Deezer gave to me, five golden coins

I think this information is well thought out and could possibly be transformed into "The Twelve Days of Deezer," with Deezer giving out the goods. I don't think this is a bad idea at all, YSR. In fact, I've recently been thinking about a new "Deezer the Snowman" song. This could turn out very good.

Anyways, here's my contribution (fused with Deezer's and Sapphira's contributions):
On the twelfth day of Christmas, Deezer gave to me:
12 Mario Kart Racers
11 Yoshi's hatching
10 Boo's a-circling
9 Mushroom Worlds
8 Red coins hidden
7 Koopa Kids
6 Golden coins
5 Dragon coins
4 Mushroom Retainers
3 Warp Whistles
2 Mario Brothers
And a Power Star in a painting

Bird Person: Ha ha ha!  That's... uh... really something.  No!  It's simply unbewiivable!  I wish you good luck with finding some grea Christmas dukar.

Robert: Hey maybe we could try that.  It could be fun to switch verses around with new ideas if we did more than one verse. *imagines listening to all 12 verses on WTMK and loses his Christmas cookies*

Deezer: Woah.  Talk about doing things the hard way! XD Impressive.

Mr.Melee: Thank you!  I also think it's time for a new TMK holiday treat.  "A power star in a painting"  That's good too.

The thing I'm aiming for in this song is not trying to be accurate with the # of things in games, but just trying to make the words sound close to the original song (like how I rhymed partridge with cartridge and tree with 3) and perhaps with nearly the same number of syllables .  That's just my thought though and anyone can do whatever they want.  Ooh, new inspiration!  We could do something in l33t! XD

Ooh, ooh, for this grand song, everyone who has a microphone/other sound-recording thing that would suffice could contribute to this one and combine it to a choir-like, heart-warming song. About Mario. And Deezer. That'd really be something...

I wrote a Zelda version of 12 Days of Christmas last year.

Found it.

On the 12th day of Christmas, the Hero gave to me,
12 Zoras swimming, (Zora: Get away from us! Ruto: But you gotta help find my Linky-poo!)
11 Gorons rolling,
10 Gerudos dancing,
9 Heart Containers,
8 shards of Triforce,
7 silver arrows, (Ganon: Oh, sh(beep)!)
6 Sage medallions,
5 Triumph Forks,
4 empty jars, (Link: Get in there, Navi!)
3 cuccos,
2 fairy pals,
And a princess of great destiny.

I wrote this before I realized "Triumph Forks" was just the title "Triforce" mutilated through time.

Okay phools. How 'bout some dezzer poetry? A Visit From dezzer (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/AVisitFromdezzer.mp3) (parody of A Visit From Saint Nicholas, more commonly known as The Night Before Christmas) Unfortunately, dezzer can't pronounce "brawl."
So, yay or nay?

Wholly flakeroni! That poem was magnificent! Of course, it's difficult to set a good rhythm with text-to-speech, but it was flat-out hilarious.

EDIT: Inspiring, actually. Bird Person and I put our collective head together to make the monotonous but amusing song: Joy to the Dezzer! (http://www.kontek.net/iansuffix/tmk/JTTWdezzer.mp3)

Ooh!  I'll have to check that out soon.  I bet it's good (or else it's really dumb, but it could still be good).

In case people want the original lyrics to the 12 days of Christmas, I decided to be a good little Yoshisaurus and list them all here for inspiration.

1st day... a partidge in a pear tree. (I believe that's a bird)
2nd day... two turtle doves (those are also birds.  They're part turtle.)
3rd day... three french hens (more birds and, yes, they're french.)
4th day... four calling birds (who would want this many birds?!?! @_@)
5th day... five golden rings (one that could destroy Middle Earth)
6th day... six geese a-laying (no more birds!!  Ask for some money now!)
7th day... seven swans a-swimming (Where's my rifle?  I'm going to shoot some birds!)
8th day... eight maids a-milking (cows, right?)
9th day... nine ladies dancing (with me!)
10th day... ten lords a-sleeping (lazy men anyway)
11th day... eleven pipers piping (you mean plumbers piping!)
12th day... twelve drummers drumming (what a generous person!  Too bad I didn't like any of the gifts though.)

There.  Done.  Woohoo.  X_X

Tomorrow I'll probably listen to and watch A vist from Dezzer, Joy to the Dezzer, and the new Deezer the Snowman video that sounds like Christmas gold.  Or... frozen gold.  Or... yellow snow?  Um... yeah, I would have listened to them sooner but I forgot and I also have dial-up which is the devil.  I'm somehow excited about it. ^_^

That song was written in the days of slavery, when it was standard for an American couple to give at least 50 humans to their five-year old son.

The eight maids are humans, not cows.
The lords are leaping, not sleeping.

10th day... ten lords a-sleeping (lazy men anyway)

I believe they were a leaping, not a sleeping, but good job anyway.

And this part made me lol..

5th day... five golden rings (one that could destroy Middle Earth)

Which is where the 10 Bros a-leaping came from, but that doesn't make much sense cause there are only two leaping brothers that I know of in this wonderful franchise.
