Can anyone help me out with a problem that’s driving me crazy? I’m trying to find a sweet techno video game remix that I like but I don’t even know which game it’s from and what part of the game! I’m sorry that I even started a topic over this but I wanted to try and find this without searching the internet forever (or joining OCR and then starting a new topic there). Here are the notes to the beginning of the song, with the arrows (v,^) indicating the direction of the scale:
E--Av--F#^--G^--Ev--F#^--Ev--Dv--Av--B^--C^--D^--E^--Dv--Cv--Bv--Av
And here’s another part of the song:
E--D--C--E--D--A--A--B--C--B--A--B--Gv--A
Thank you, guys for the help! Later, if you want, feel free to turn this into some game of “Guess That VG Song!” or something. Maybe not. :)

It might be better to do a recording and upload it, since this notation doesn't seem to indicate rhythym. Also, not everyone reads music.
-
Yeah, I wish I could but I don't have a mike. I would love to make an obnoxious recording of the song I heard.
In the first part, the F#s have more emphasis, and there's a pause after the first C and the second D. In the second part, it goes slow and there's a pause after the first A. I wish I could do more than that. (Strangely this is kinda fun)
One thing I do know is it might be from a Final Fantasy game. Someone else helped me with this and said it might be "The Legacy" from FF Legend 2. That sounds pretty close to the first part but nothing like the second part (which could have been added in the remix). I couldn't find any FFL2 remixes at OCR, but I'm positive I heard the song on Remix Radio.
-
Well, I tried recreating the song but couldn't recognize anything. It was kind of fun, though--and the song doesn't sound too bad.
-
I put the notes (and hopefully, in the correct octaves) in my composing application. It didn't sound very familiar.
-
I played it on my electric piano and tried different rhythms. It sounded pretty neat, but I didn't recognize anything.
-
I didn't know you played electric guitar! Awesome.
-
For whatever reason OC Remix deleted the single FFL2 song. I uploaded a copy here (http://kontek.net/upload/FFLegendII_InjuredHero'sBlood_OC_ReMix.mp3) for you to check.
-
Thank you, but that's not it. But I have heard that on Remix Radio though. Odd. This is strange. It's like I dreamed the whole thing or something.
Here's another cool mp3 that this person gave me: <http://www.zirconstudios.com/Rellik_-_Analog_Velocity(Final_Fantasy_Legend_II).mp3>. It's not exactly like it but it's the closest thing I have so far. The pace of the song is nearly the same, but there's some different notes.
-
I have heard this song before, but I'm not home and can't check my OC Remix collection. My best guess right now is Chrono Cross.
-
Wait, who plays electic guitar?
-
Electric piano ≠ electric guitar
I think YSR simply misread Suffix's post.
-
Electric piano ≠ electric guitar
Or does (http://wereallgladhere.com/images/keytar.jpg) it?
-
That girl looks drugged or something.
-
XD
Sapph: Oops, you're right. How do I keep doing that? Electric guitar, electric piano, electric bagpipes... whatever.
MegaByte: I checked the midis for Chrono Cross and nothing clicked with me (but it's hard to judge by notes alone when you don't know the pace). Do you think it could be Chrono Trigger instead?
-
Totally.
-
I'm pretty sure it isn't Chrono Cross or Trigger.
I know that music better than pretty much anything.
-
"Guess what I found on O.C. Re-mix? A song... that I've been... sear-ching for. It's kind... of nuts but that's fine 'cause I like music that sounds like ma-chines!... Prepare to lose your mind, now. This is real crazy stuff. If you choose to hear it... remember it's not my fault!"
Wellp I found it! I decided to just do what I should have done in the first place and went to the OCR forums to find the song. ALRIGHT! "That's it! That's the melody I've been searching for!" Sorry I didn't do that sooner.
I just thought I would say this now in case of the chance that any people were still trying to help, so they don't have to anymore. Thanks for trying anyway. If you want to hear this chaotic song for yourself you can get it right here (http://djpretzel.web.aplus.net/songs/Castlevania_CircleoftheMoon_Technomancy_OC_ReMix.mp3). For some this may stick in your head forever and make you wish you never heard it. For others, it may completely wreck your nerves and make you wish you never heard it. Probably both! Click at your own risk. >:)
Anyway... thanks again.

Oh yeah! Sorry I was on the other side of the country and couldn't help. Personally, I like the "Rude Awakening" rendition of the song better.
-
That's okay. Are you on a trip or something?
Wow, that remix is really good! I'll keep that one too.
-
Hmm, I'm surprised I didn't pick up on it. I played all the way through Circle of the Moon. I even have that OCR.
-
I'm already disappointed because I've played this game.
-
Wow, I stumped almost everyone! Hoo hoo!
There's another remix I'm looking for too but I don't know if I should continue this mad pursuit. However, this one isn't as important to me as the first so you don't have to help with it. (and I also asked this at OCR and still am waiting for help, but I'm just asking it here too in case anyone knows it right off the bat)
This one sounds like a remix of the credits of a Sonic game, not positive, and it has an absolutely heavenly choir of girls singing in japanese. Part of it went something like "Gobby goo day, gobby gooby dah. Gobby goo day, gobby dah dee dah" and plenty of nice, held-out "oohs" and "ahs." You can tell that I don't know Japanese for squat! XD I might have heard this one somewhere else, but I think it was Remix Radio.
DeadAwake: You broke someone's hat?
-
Yoshisaurus, it really wouldn't be too hard to stump a bunch of people with some rhythmless notes from a game not all of us have played... In my lifetime, I have not even seen a Castlevania game.
-
OPEN YO AYES SON
-
I assure you, my eyes have been open for more than half my lifetime.
[HEY MAN, MY AYES HAS BEEN OPEN FOR-EVER!]
-
SETTLE DOWN Y'ALLS! I WAS ONLY A-JOKIN' THEAH, MR. SUFFIX. AND I AINT NEVER PLAYED A CASTLEVAHNYA GAME EITHA!
Oh boy, what have I done to this place? XD [Ehx dayh]
-
You guys need to discover some of the Great Video Game Franchises.
-
I agree with Chup. After, for some reason, not buying really hyped games, I got Devil May Cry recently. I have fallen in love with my PS2 all over again. ...although I also have yet to play a Castlevania game.
-
Man, there's a lot of franchises I never played, even though I have amassed a great deal of info about them.
-
CW: Yeah, I wish I would have tried more variety of games as a kid. I didn't play a single Mega Man game until I got Mega Man Anniversary Collection for my brithday. After I got used to the difficulty and understood the whole point, it was love at fourth or fifth sight.
Now, I don't have much time for video games and I'm trying to focus on my future and goals. But the nostalgia will always live on!
-
You played MMAC with the backwards controls on GCN?
Dang, I am impressed if that made you like Mega Man games.
-
The controls were backwards?!?! Oh no... so that's why I had so much trouble playing it at first. (Jump with B? What now?!) But, yeah I still love the games that way. They should have let players adjust those things though. >_> *hums MM2 music*
-
I got used to those controls as well and beat MM1-6 for the first time that way.
