Title: Mario Diner
Post by: Mario Master on April 04, 2003, 09:49:38 AM
Why just have a drink at the so-called "Mario Bar", when you can have a full meal at the Mario Diner!  Just come in, order your food, and talk about... stuff!  Anyway, here's just a bit of healthy compitition for Mario Bar.

Well, seems to me I'm the first customer (is that like a free meal?)

A Kerokorola, for now please.

Hm, yet another tourist attraction in the MK. In that case, I'll have a Mushroom Pasta.

BTW, has anyone noticed that on the menu at Club 64 (PM) is Mushroom Pasta, yet Tayce T can't make it using Dried Pasta and Mushroom? (I've never tried it, though, but I've had all 50 recipes.)

Yeah, you can be the chef if you want, Marioguy.  And no, CharginChuck, you don't get a free meal because all meals are free.  Anyway, if you're gonna be the chef Marioguy then you need to get in the kitchen!  One Mushroom Pasta!

A KeroKeroCola is from SMRPG, which is like the prequel to PM. I thought you could serve things from other Mario games, too. (I know I'm not ordering a KeroKeroCola; I'm just trying to be nice  :)  )

Hey, where do you get off killing people like that?  I'm sure it's not very good for business.  Here.

*goes over to the soda machine in the corner and buys a Pick Me Up, then goes backk and gives it to CharginChuck*

You should probably just use the machine there for Kerokero Cola, Chuck.  Marioguy doesn't seem too inclined to sell you any.

The TV IS in the diner for all to enjoy.

On the TV:

Mario walks on-screen.
Mario: Hello, Peach!
Peach: Mario!  You're just in time for the picnic!
Mario: (Well that's convienient)
Bowser: Bwa ha ha!  No picnic today!
Bowser swoops down in his clown thing and picks up Peach.
Mario: *sigh* Why doesn't he go for Daisy for once?  Hey Luigi!
Luigi's head pops out of the picnic basket.
Mario: What in the heck are you doing in there?
Luigi: Ummm...  No idea.
Mario: Peach was kidnapped again...
Luigi: AGAIN????!?!?!?!?
Mario: Let's go...
They both sigh as they head for Bowser's castle.

Anyway, thanks for the Lemon Candy! Mmm... *Crunch, crunch...* It tastes sour! ... Oh, hello Anti-Guy! What do you want? Oh... what are you doing with that fire flower...? AAAHHH! HOT! HOT! HOT! IT BURNS!

My thoughts on Super Mario 128:
Bowser kidnaps Peach. Again.
Mario AND LUIGI go and save Peach.
Bigger, better, and more satisfying than SMS.
Or, it could be that weird 128 Marios puzzle game thingy.

My hopes are that it will be like Zelda: Four Swords, where say, Mario and Luigi work together as either one or two players simultaneous.
Title: Re: Mario Diner
Post by: Mario Maniac on April 11, 2003, 05:55:33 AM
That would be a great idea! A 2-player Mario game in which Mario and Luigi work together would be really fun! Imagine it:

Mario stomps on a Goomba while Luigi searches for the hidden red coins scattered throughout the level...

OR

Mario lures Bowser to the edge of a platform while Luigi powers up with a Starman, getting ready to attack...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Title: Re: Mario Diner
Post by: Sapphira on April 11, 2003, 06:52:29 AM
No, they can't POSSIBLY do another basic plot--"Save the princess from Bowser--again"! Granted, that most likely WILL happen, but that can't be the only plot.
They should do something else, like the Star Spirits stuff in Paper Mario. Rescuing her shouldn't be the end of the adventure. I say save her, she joins up and helps/aids, and everyone continues the adventure for the final quest. (Kinda like SMRPG--but Bowser instead of Smithy.)

Well, there's my 2 cents.

Title: Re: Mario Diner
Post by: Sapphira on April 11, 2003, 07:04:51 AM
BTW, did you know that there has not been ONE *adventure* with Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi and Bowser together? SMBDX is the first, but that's a remake, and remakes (like SM Advance) don't count. Know that I mean *adventure* (by platform/action/adventure/rpg games), not Sports, Party, fighting or other.

SMRPG doesn't count 'cuz Luigi was just a tiny cameo at the end. PM neither 'cuz while there may have been Toads and Yoshis, none specifically were them. GAHHH! The 6 most important Mario characters have never been an adventure all together!!!

Super Mario 128 better do that...
Okay, it's now up to 4 cents...  :D

Title: Re: Mario Diner
Post by: Sapphira on April 11, 2003, 02:22:10 PM
Well of course SM64 doesn't count. I was only listing the games that someone could possibly argue against that all 6 are in. It's kinda sad if you think about it, that the 6 haven't been together.

BTW, Marioguy, what's wrong w/ SMRPG? That's my favorite game on the SNES. Although I happen to like PM better, I still like SMRPG.

Oh, could I get a Koopasta and an Able Juice?

Yes, the actual NES Super Mario Bros.  I just bought a SNES style controller by Hori to play the NES games.  I like Zelda the best, but my wife and I play SMB the most (I prefer the GBC version).  Pinball and Wario's Woods are also cool.

I have all the Animal crossing Mario items except the Mario Mural.

Cool.  I think I'm going to buy Animal Crossing.  It's really fun!  BTW, how long does it take for bee stings to go away?  And I asked Tom Nook if he could make up my house bigger and he never did(?).  Do you get more than just the first SMB?  Or do you get SMB 1, 2, and 3?

Everybody has the right to stupidity, but you''re abusing the privilage.

Tom Nook upgrades your house the next day. Bee stings go away after you save and quit.

Mario Master, you should read through the "Animal Crossing Help" thread.

SMB1 is the only game in AC.  Although they have said AC2 is planned and it should have more.

Also, I just found out that the GBA can play any NES game since it has an NES emulator.  So, I am going to try and download some roms and put them on a Gameboy cart and see.

Good luck with Animal Crossing, but I suggest not getting the Replay cheat.  It ruinned the game for me.

No way. The GBA has a secondary 8-bit processor, but I don't think it has an NES emulator.

SMB is the only SMB game in AC, but there are plenty more NES games, including Donkey Kong and Mario Bros. (Yes, you can get Mario Bros. with an e-Reader.)

And yeah, Mario Master, you should read through Animal Crossing help. It'll tell you what's up with the game, and quickly.

You can be silent and let the world think you are a fool, or you can open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Why not just look on ebay or amazon.com and get one from America?  They have plenty of them!  I was looking for one with a memory card being sold with it because my memory card's full and I can't save.  I guess that's why Nook never did my house, because I have to Save & Quit.  BTW, do you need a NES Consol in AC in order to get NES games?

CW, I said that wrong. I meant the GBA can play NES games because emulators have been made for it.  Pocket NES for example.

Yes, you would need an NTSC GCN. Methinks Mario Master is unfamiliar with PAL.

Ah, Luigison, I see. I knew about the unofficial GBA NES emulators, but I thought that you thought you were talking about one in the GBA system ROM.

Oh yes, to answer your question, Mario Master, you need a memory card with at least 57 blocks of memory. That's why they sell it with a prepackaged Memory Card 59.

Yeah I know, but I just bought a Blockbuster copy, without the memory card.  The game goes in today and I needed to keep playing.  And I don't know what a NTSC GCN is.  I'm the master of videogames, not the way they're sold.

Post by: Chupperson Weird on April 16, 2003, 09:33:03 PM
Not sold, made. NTSC and PAL are incompatible, therefore it wouldn't be possible to play an NTSC game on a PAL system.

Oh, and to answer your other question, you don't need an NES console to play NES games; you get an NES with every game.

Luigison, American and Japanese game systems are both NTSC. You can't have the same type of boot disc if you want to play NTSC games on a PAL system or vice versa, because PAL systems have more scanlines, and the video signal is entirely different. They sometimes have to extensively modify the game in order to make it display properly.

I may not be very skilled in the "multi-lingual" department, but I could kick anyone's butt with *English* grammar and spelling.  ...Grammar more so. To quote Bowyer: NYA!!

I studied a bit of Japanese at one point, but haven't in a few years.

Let's see if I can at least remember sentence structure... Subject-object-verb. I believe. As opposed to Subject-Verb-Object in English. An example of this would be 'Boku wa gohan o tabemasu.' Which means "I eat rice." That sentence is basically how I remember my grammar, however, I think I've lost much of what I once knew.

E. Gadd gets the Yoshi Egg that Luigison brought from the Mario Bar.  He puts the egg on the end of his new P4000 and shots it at the wall that seperates the Mario Bar from the Mario Diner.  The wall crumbles to the floor.  Peach and Luigi's jaws drop as they stare into the Bar.

A few ghosts the E. Gadd missed float into the bar.
