Title: SSBB: Wario's special moves
Post by: MEGAߥTE on June 29, 2007, 02:36:42 AM

Smash Bros. DOJO!! (http://www.smashbros.com/) has detailed two of Wario's bizarre special moves, both of which were featured in the original E3 2006 trailer.  The first is called Wario Chopper.  Triggered by a special side attack, Wario will drive his motorcycle back and forth along the stage.  He can even get off, and other characters can pick up the vehicle.  His second special move is the infamous fart attack.  Named the Wario Waft, the down special attack can be charged.  The longer he holds in his gas, the more powerful the blast upon release.  Check out the explosive screenshots on the website.

Is Mario lifting Wario's motorcycle?

Wow...they did mention something about Wario's gas building up over time...I guess this is it, huh?

He has some...odd moves, I suppose. But I think they're pretty funny.

Does this mean that other characters will have reusable weapons as attacks? Does this mean that other characters will have moves that change depending on when you use them?

I wonder how that behemoth of a bike handles on the small stages. Seriously. How'd Wario sneak that thing in?!

There is already precedent for both of these. See: Peach's turnips and Bowser's fire-breath.

But Bowser fire breath wears out while you're using it, Wario's powers up while you're not using it.

A better example would be any of the other moves that can be charged and stored.  Mewtwo's energy ball, DK's punch, etc.

The difference her is that with them you have to press the button and stand still. With Wario it charges automatically, so you have to guess when to use it.

I dunno about that motorcycle... Maybe it should just be an item.

This actually gives potential for moves for de-cloned clones. Falco could summon an Arwing!

The Wario Waft is probably a charge-up move. In the E3 video, he quickly becomes extremely large before letting a huge one rip.

But it specifically stated that it charges itself over time, and we haven't actually seen him inflate in-game. That part of the E3 video was FMV.

I told myself that as soon as Wario was a playable character in Super Smash Brothers that I'd play as him before anyone else (anyone else being my friends and family). He really sounds like my kind of character; any of you who have read my fanfics know that I get a kick out of Wario and his....well, behavior.

It doesn't specify stationary charging or not.

This, my friends, is the one reason not to buy SSBB.

Farting in games cannot phase me, for I grew up with a game wherein you actually psychically possess your own toots to do your bidding.

It might operate the same way that Yoshi's Egg Roll attack does.

I agree. I wanted a more classical Wario, not one that wears the 'Ware look and farts (not that the Ware look is bad, mind, but I hope that his classic purple overalls are a costume for him..)

I was thinking that he could have more moves based on the first Wario Land game: a body slam, a butt slam (like Yoshi and Bowser's vB moves), and possibly a move for one of each of the hats (Normal, Dragon, Bull, Jet..)

That's what it reminds me of! I was thinking of how it would work based on the description, and I knew there had been something like it before in Melee, but... BINGO!

ShadowBrain, could you start using the quote button ((https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fthemushroomkingdom.net%2Fboard%2FThemes%2Fff%2Fimages%2Fenglish%2Fquote.gif&hash=728e4f665b18527926cb2a7dc36f372a)) when quoting a post? This makes it much easier to see which post you're quoting.
