When I do the practice at Harhall Studio (MLSS), the water misfires to the right, and the designbomb acts funny and stays that way forever.
I have taken screens of this, and can email them as attachments in PNG format (upon request of course, send request mail with "Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga trap pictures" in the subject line)

The screen shots you sent made me wonder how you are playing the game.  Is it on a Game Boy Player through a Game Cube, on a PC w/ a ROM, or GBA?

If it is on a PC with a ROM it could be an emulator error.  If it is in the GBP or GBA, have you tried turning it off, taking out and reinserting the game, and trying again?

Another reason not to use emulators.
