A fat American watching TV is too lazy to go to the bathroom, so he poops under the couch cushion, which causes God to loose faith in humanity and kill himself.

Not at the Dinner Table / Re: Racism as comedy
« on: October 10, 2009, 01:36:14 PM »
Racist humor is funny as satire, not funny as just baseless stereotypes. For example, I was watching a newer Family Guy episode and the Griffins become Jewish, and Peter becomes a mega-Jew, basically pointing out certain things that Jews do, and this is supposed to be funny. It had no social merit, it was pointing out nothing other than "Jews do this, isn't that funny?" and it kind of sickened me. This is opposite of the work of Spike Lee or Dave Chappelle or Mark Twain even, who use racism to criticize racism.

Trainman is right. Weed is a lot like alcohol. Anytimes I've been drunk, I haven't made an ass of myself simply because I already possess a metric ton of self-control. So when I am drunk, yeah I might throw in a few more expletives and slightly cruder jokes, but it's not like I'm stumbling around half naked while trying to make out with the nearest piece of furniture. Weed and alcohol are actually incredibly similar if you think about it...

I disagree. Alcohol is much more dangerous than weed, considering all the deaths related to drunk driving accidents and alcohol poisoning. There is no recorded deaths related directly to overconsumption of weed; overdosing is impossible. Sure some poor sucker has probably had weed spiked with acid or crack and jumped off a building, but if we're talking straight marijuana, it's not a dangerous thing. Not to mention the vastly different effects. Alcohol is more of a social party drug that is more likely to lead to unwanted decisions (violent or sexual) and weed just makes you a little more giggly and lethargic, more appreciative of Little Debbie snack cakes.

Hot dog! I haven't been here for a while, but I thought of a game. I think of a weapon, and the next person has to think of a stronger one to trump mine, and so on:

A stone.

General Chat / Re: Swimming in a sea of confusion
« on: July 24, 2008, 12:32:52 AM »
The drugs - I've experimented too, until one night that involved angry policemen. I don't think I need to say anymore than that. And in those months I spent jailed up in my room, away from my friends and my lovely city streets I realized that a few nights of fun aren't worth the overwhelming power of the government. If I'm ever caught with a controlled substance again then I'm in jail and I have a tainted record with no chance of a medical career. Now I am just glad to be fully conscious and to nurture my growing brain. I believe there are more important things than immediate pleasure.

The woman - About a year ago I felt what I thought might be "love" for a girl with the same name as the one you mentioned. I remember that terrible confusion too. I don't feel like saying much more because our situations are probably much different. But best of luck to you, and I hope you feel better.

General Chat / Re: The ANGST thread: Complain here!
« on: July 21, 2008, 01:24:50 AM »
I've only seen a few interesting, original shows on television in the past few years. Each show seems to be a near replica of one I've seen before. Where has the creativity gone? What we need is something so apocalyptically insane that it works, like a show about a team of female welders that move to a pharmacy in the sky together and make a living by selling prescription drugs to angels. What's the catch? Diamantrius the Demon appears in each episode, disguised as an angel, only because he wants to abuse pills. The show could stay interesting by having episodes where, for example, the female welders travel down to hell to slay Diamantrius, or there could be side-plots involving the angel customers. Right there, in about a minute, I created a show more awesome than 99% of all existing shows. Is there a producer in the house?

You nay-sayers! What the video game industry in North America needs is some experimentation as such. Nothing wrong with a little eccentricity.

I would be scared to see any of you on the other side. I might go to meet one of you, only to discover that you're a grizzled lonely lobster farmer with a shed full of bloody wrenches and clumps of human hair. It's a worst case scenario, but a possible scenario.
