Tell us your best "Mario" character.

It's really hard to choose the best Mario character, I love almost all of them.
I think the best Mario character is Mario himself ,Yoshi or Toad.
Mario is the greatest and I really love Yoshi.
Toad - he's a great character.

it's all about the goomba, baby. he's small, pimped out, runs around...and has been in the games almost as long as mario himself. it's bout time we either get A)a goomba in the staring role of his own game or B)a goomba as a playable character in an upcoming game(i.e...new smash bros)

My favorite Mario character would have to be Yoshi (except in Super Smash Bros.) he was such a different addition to the Mario team in SMW. When i first saw him i almost cried. When i say Yoshi is my favorite, i am not counting Mario. MARIO ROCKS!

MrWhiteFolks has got a point. The Goomba is like the original Mario enemy. It was the first thing you saw in action besides Mario in SMB! You've got to respect the Goombas!

I saw someone say Geno is their fav. Mario character. Well, can Geno really be called an actual character from the Mario universe? I mean, SMRPG was made by Squaresoft after all.....
Anyway, my favorite Mario character would have to be either Koopa Troop, Bowser or Yoshi. It's a toss.

My fave is probably...hmmmm...anything from Yoshi's Island! To be more specific, either Kamek or Baby Mario/Luigi. I mean, Kamek has da power to make you small, make them big, send you to oute space, and lots more! He can even turn blocks into Goombas or Koopas! And Baby Mario, he can SCREAM! So, them there are my favorites!

I like my Level 50 Golfer Kid in Mario Golf. Besides that I take a liking to Yoshi (Even is SSB) BTW, I have a hunch Bowser's gonna be in SSB2.

I gotta ask you a question guys: what's so good about SMRPG? I mean it's just an RPG with Mario characters. I wouldn't say it's actually a Mario game.

SMRPG is one of thouse games you haveta' play for yourself[the whole way through] before you realize it's so addicting! I think that's what makes it great but then again...that's just my opion...anyway I think Boshi is the Best! The spiked collar looks great on him [I have several of my own ^__^;; but not because of Boshi] and the straps on his feet look kewl too. I also like Bowser alot. ^^; And I have to agree, goombas are great too!

I prefer the "Super Mario Bros. 3" Koopa Troopas and Paratroopas, but, then again I prefer pretty much everything from "Mario 3" over pretty much everything else. : )
Will somebody here settle an argument? My brother insiste that the green Koopa Troopas in "Mario 3" look like budgies. I don't see the resemblence, do you?

What? Are all you crazy?! Luigi is the coolest! He's taller than Mario, more youthful, not as fat, faster, and his name is alphabeticaly before Mario's! It's also cool that you can play him on SMB DX.
But just so I don't go for the good guy, my favorite villan is, or are the Hammer Bros.
I see all, hear all, and know all. (At least about SMB DX.)

Duh! The Big Boo is the coolest! He's a ghost... and HE'S BIG! He can boss around all the other boos. Well I think he's cool, anyway.....
As a close second, I would pick the obscure Captain Syrup, the only Mario character besides Bowser to be a final boss in more than one game.

I have to say my favorite is Luigi and the Shy Guys. Luigi is hand down a favorite and the Shy Guys were like the Goombas of Mario 2 and then main enemies of the Yoshi(all Yoshi Island or Story games).

My characters are...
Mario: Quick reaction, Combo Expert, Faster than Luigi (Sorry, but Smash Bros. proves it), fireballs go farther than Luigi's, and a smart person
Luigi: Power!, Jumps higher than Mario, Has an uppercut than can knock you to next Tuesday, Even his fighter stance can attack others.
Yoshi: Combos and Power, Lays eggs and chunks them, good attitude, positive thinker, hip drop, hard to defeat.
Toadstool: Wisdom, Unknown Power, Pretty, Bad Temper (Super Mario RPG), has many hidden talents in secrecy, Leader of the Mushroom Kingdom, sweet, when she's on your SMRPG team she was the one to start off on the highest level, she should have her own game.
Bowser: More Powerful than all I've mentioned put together, has knowledge of both technology and magic, has seven or more kids (Baby Bowsers from Mario Party) and can still rule a kingdom, he's harder to kill than a cockroach on steroids, has an army of friends who have his back! Where's Toadstool's army?
Kamek: Brilliant in magic, just as hard to kill as Bowser, gave Yoshi and his friends extremely hard times, never gives up even at his last resort (even though the last thing he did was ask Yoshi to hand over Mario), should come back in another game at the least!

Kamek or Captain Syrup.
Kamek is funny and great with magic (hes great at flying) and Captain Syrup is great
at building all sorts of bizzare machines to
protect her loot from Wario.

My favorite character would probably be...Peach. But, on Mario Party, my sister is Peach, and I'm stuck playing Mario. Now don't get me wrong, Mario is a great video character, but...when we put Mario and the other player on computer, we make Mario a total idiot. He runs around in circles repeatedly and stands still as the Boo Buddies come and eat him. I kind of like that part though.

I'd say that Geno qualifies as a Mario universe character, since he's in an official Mario game -- Mario RPG. We may never see him again, but that's to be expected anyways as he only came down to Mario's world to try to find the missing star pieces. Since he's a spirit from the Star Road he's probably not in the business of coming down just to chat :)

Here's a list of the items that make Mario more powerful:
Super Mushroom turns Small Mario into Super Mario.
Fire Flower turns Super Mario into Fire Mario.
Cape Feather / Wing Cap / Raccoon Leaf all turn Super Mario into Flying Mario.
Star turns any Mario into Invincible Mario.
Metal Cap turns any Mario into Metal Mario (or Invincible Mario).
Vanish Cap turns any Mario into Vanished Mario.
I think that's all of them. If there are any more that I missed, post them.

9 months moreless after Mario won this contest we're continuing with this topic... and that's good.
My favorite is my worshipped Luigi Mario, the younger brother, the always-forgotten character. No other good guy can beat him in my own ranking. But there's a lot of bad guys who could: Kamek, the Shy-guys, the Koopa-troopas, Baby-Bowser, ...
Someone said that goombas are the first character after Mario to have appeared in a Mario game. Well, I think that's not quite true. I think Mario is the third character having appeared, just after DK and Pauline. Correct me if I made a mistake.

Well, I'd say Kinopio is the best character, but hes never actually been different from anyone. So, Hammer Bros., Goombas, and Bowser.... definately... Mario would be a good character, but hes all fat and stuff... he makes for a good cartoon character, ill grant that

Ok, I'll list some of my favorites, they're in order from my favorite to least favorite. However, they're all a tie. As for names like Paratroopa, I guess I'm referring to its species itself, so characters like Kooper would also be on my list (note how Mario isn't in there, for some reason).

My favorite is, and always will be, Peach! I've always loved her even when I was three and my brother was playing Super Mario Bros. on the regular Nintendo system. I'm into princesses of course, so that's another reason why I like Peach. And this one other reason is because since Daisy finally got out in Mario games now, I can play Peach without any worry! My friends fight over Daisy (the three other people who play Mario Party 3 or Mario Tennis with me) since we're all girls. Peach is girly and thats what I like about her! I like Daisy too, and Bowser, but Peach is the best!
