This is what I think, too.

Kinda what I thought...
But I know the folks making it know what they're doing.
I'll wait until I play it before I say whether or not it "blows".

Just because other games look realistic doesn't mean LoZ shouldn't. Should it have horrible controls or a stupid storyline because other games have good controls and storylines?
Time slowed and Reality bent.
But on and on the Eggman went.

I never judge a game on graphics.
To me, it's all gameplay.....And some audio. But never graphics, though it would be nice if I can see everything clearly.
-
Graphics don't have to hinder the imaginative process. A storyteller can still use realistic illustrations to their advantage.

Like I said in the mailbag, I completely welcome this addition to The Legend of Zelda series. Here's why: On one platform, Nintendo has given us a cel-shaded game, a 2-d multiplayer game, a disc full of remakes, and now, a realistic Zelda game. What other franchise has covered all the bases like that? Not even Mario. It's good that Nintendo is listening to fans while ALSO doing their own thing. The textures and models may not be the greatest in what they've shown so far, but I think the atmosphere will do it for the new Zelda. The same thing happened when Wind Waker was first shown: people whined about the style. The key here is diversity. That is what rocks.

I took another look at some screenshots, and am starting to feel more warmly about it. MEGAߥTE's point is very good also.

Not to be rude, but why don't you appreaciate the graphics and the game you're gonna get? I imagine it took a heck of a lot of time to make it, and it does look pretty darn really realistic. Don't judge a videogame by it's screenshots.

Firstly, a lot of games are doing more style instead of realism nowadays.
Secondly, the new Zelda still has style, even though it's more "realistic".
...Yep, that's about all I wanted to say.

You forgot to point out the wrong form of "its" in his post, Chup.

That made me laugh, Vid. :D
I agree with everything that everyone has said, including the writer of the article to which Lizard linked us.

Personally, I dont look for good graphics, storyline, or characters in a game. All i look for is awesome gameplay. If I wanted to worry about story line i'd read a book. And if i worried about realism, i'd watch a movie. (I dont care if i make spelling, grammitic, or puctuation mistakes, it's just a message board, not a school essay, so nobody correct me)

Who used the wrong form of "its"?

I aggree with MB's first post.

I agree with MEGAߥTE's second post. That's how much I trust him. I also agree with my second post. That's how crazy I am. </sarcasm>
I think that each Zelda game has a reality all of it's own and doesn't need to be realistic. While it's a first for most Nintendo games, I think it's what most non-Nintendo/Zelda fans want. Nintendo has said that they are going to appear to a wider audience that includes casual and even non-gamers. While I would like another top down Zelda, I think the reality is that realism is the current standard that many judge games by.
Edit: This post has not been edited, and no matter how many errors it contains, "I refuse to edit it."

Luigison, I think your post made me laugh even more than Vid's. (Sorry, Vid.)
And now to make like the wise Nameneko and actually contribute to the topic . . . Uh, I wrote a nice 'n' long letter to a certain Mr. Kast today that purposely featured a reference to the upcoming LoZenge to non-gamers' sore, empty throats.
[Chudah (and ヴィ.ジ.ジェ.!) will follow tomorrow morning, I hope. But that has nothing to do with this topic, either.]

I kind of think that if I were a non-gamer (a stretch, I know) I would be more attracted to the Wind Waker graphics than these.
