Mario Chat / Re: Interesting SMB3 Code
« on: March 27, 2004, 02:25:22 PM »
Yeah, that will go on the SMB3 special when we get the chance.  If you noticed, that code was from David Wonn, who is now hosted by KonTek.Net  BTW, a similar code exists for SMAS:SMB3, proving that mode of the original game was preserved in the port.

Actually, propane is odorless.  They add ethyl mercaptan to it so you notice leaks and don't asphyxiate/blow up/etc.

May I suggest <a href="http://www.extremepita.com/">this[/url]. Yeah, one of four in the entire country happens to be near my campus, but if you live in Canada, you're in luck.  They make Subway look like McDonalds.  I haven't been to Quizno's...

>Could you possibly upload a screenshot?
Tell me what you want to see (course, characters, etc.) and I can.

>Also, do they actually have them on the character selection screen or does it replace a character?  If they do, what's it say when you choose them? Also, what would their other colors be?  What about other modes like Giant Melee?
They just replace a character.  The Hand codes override whatever mode you're in.  If you're using debug mode instead, you start the game differently, so you don't even use the same select screen.  The debug menu will let you change character sizes from something like 0.1 to 5.0 times normal size and colors as well.  I don't think the other characters have alternate colors though without using more codes.  Also, Giga Bowser and the Wireframes work like regular characters, but the Hands attacks use the D-Pad + buttons oddly enough.  You can play as the Sandbag too, but if you double-jump, it locks up.

>And lastly, what about their fighter stance?
They have none.  They weren't programmed in.  They don't even have proper icons / header names.

>P.S. Is there any way to know what Action Replay version your purchasing before opening it?
The original is 1.06, the one with Zelda codes added is 1.07.  The newest one (don't remember what codes) is 1.10 I believe.

>When you play as Master/Crazy hand, will they always make their "trademark" appearance when they come from the back of the course laughing?
Yes.  And yeah, I didn't even think about the other characters absent entrances... they should have kept those for SSBM.

I haven't had it freeze, but the framerate is unbearably slow in progressive scan mode (the main thing I wanted it for)...

Meowrik, get off your high horse.

For those of those who want the codes, here they are:

v1.0

v1.1

v1.2

To figure out what version you have, look at the bottom of the disc around the center and you should see DOL-GALE and some numbers.  If the last numbers are 00, you have version 1.0, 01 = v1.1 and 02 = v1.2

That didn't come across as a joke at all, but if it was sarcasm, I quote: [18:35:33] * Meowrik doesn't like sarcasm.

The first three are Deezer,
J.J. McCullough,
DavidDayton.
The numbers skip because the database includes all old-style forums on classicgaming, not just TMK.  Hundreds of people registered before you did, though I don't know how many are active.

Oh, after examining the movie file closer, I have realized that Famtasia allows you to save state in the middle of a movie and rerecord from this state.  Thus, the 11 minute video was actually interrupted and  restarted over 40,000 times... move than the number of frames in the movie!  Also, apparently the guy took a couple years to do it, according to his website.  Thus, while no hacks were used, it was far, far from being "real."
