I played the demo for the 3DS and Wii U version at Best Buy. One thing Best Buy (and Nintendo) failed to mention about the event, was that they would have guys in Mario/Luigi/Wario hats with two 3DS XLs attached to their belts that played SSB3DS. If you caught up with them, they let you play a round of Smash Run (including a battle after the stage) for a few minutes. What I found funny was that the demo roster for the 3DS was larger than (or maybe just different from) the one for the Wii U. While I can't remember what was on the 3DS version very well, I'm positive the Wii U version at least included these:

Mario
Bowser
Rosalina and Luma
Sonic
Mega Man
Little Mac
Pit
Wii Fit Trainer
Villager
Greninja
Pikachu
Fox
Kirby
Marth
Olimar
Samus
Zero Suit Samus

Those are the only ones I remember, anyway. They started out with technical difficulties, and the event didn't start for at least 45 minutes after 4 PM. Luckily my friend and I got a decent place in line, but it still took at least 3 hours before we made it to play. Eventually everyone in the store was in line. I couldn't tell if there were confused shoppers or if everyone else had just left. We were getting close to the end of the line, and they informed us that they were cutting the time in half; originally, they gave everyone two two-minute rounds (running up to four minutes total), but apparently the crowd was too large and they took out the second round for everyone else. As my friend and I like to live dangerously, we picked random. The stage roster was fairly small (especially compared to the character roster), but still decent. I only saw basic platform stages, like the Pilotwings stage (which we actually picked).

I ended up getting Pit, and they did improve him, but I still sucked at using him. Everyone else kept picking Greninja. I'm pretty sure the only round without Greninja yesterday was the one I was in. They turned on all items and I saw a couple of Final Smashes, but nothing too new. Giga Mac looks pretty awesome. After our two minute round, we went over to a little table with some souvenirs. I saw people leaving with Mario Kart 8 flags, but I was given no such flag. I did get a couple of SSB sticker decals and a pin. Unfortunately, everyone wants to go back on Saturday, and even though it was awesome, that was longer than I was hoping it would take.
I'm a horrible person.

I think the stages were chosen for the invitational, although the FE stage had a walk off edge.

The closest participating Best Buy is like 20 minutes from my house with no traffic, so my mom probably won't take me.
O-oh well ;_;

My brother and I walked into Best Buy last night, saw the kiosk, saw the line that stretched from the kiosk to the back of the store, wrapped around a display, and went almost all the way back to the kiosk, and walked out of Best Buy.

I have to go on Saturday, but if the line fills the store, I'm noping out of that Best Buy like there's no tomorrow.

Although, this Best Buy isn't in a really big city, although it's the capital of my state, so maybe it won't be too crowded.

I'm at Best Buy! I'm at the front of the line! Here's a picture of my good pal Godot also being in the front of the line, which doesn't prove that I'm here at all.

My sisters, dad, and I went there and only had to wait in line for about an hour, which was good since to be first I probably would have needed to wait that long anyway. I played as Mega Man and Greninja, and was far better at Mega Man. My youngest sister played as Bowser and Pit, while my older (but still younger than me) one played as Pit and Little Mac. My dad didn't have any interest and just recorded for me and got weirded out by Greninja. I also got to try out some of the 3DS demos there, and I found the 3D effect to be really good. I'll upload the video of the Wii U gameplay soon.

Maybe the rules varied by store? I'll make sure to keep the original around, though, in case my YouTube channel is seized by Nintendo in an attempt to destroy all footage of the game so people don't notice there's no wavedashing.

Oh, by the way! I'd like to reveal a new challenger. Instead of doing the unveiling on something like a Nintendo Direct, we're going to live-stream the reveal on the official website on Monday, July 14, at 7:00 AM US Pacific Time (4:00 PM European Central Time). Looks like we're nearing the bottom of the stash of new challenger videos that we've made... Like always, we put a lot of effort into it, so I hope you'll enjoy watching it live.

Lucina, Captain Falcon, and Robin confirmed

Also, I think this deconfirms the Gematsu leak.
