What have you previously thought, but found was incorrect?

Here's one I just had:  ...wrestling with a friend who has poison ivy. What will happen? (http://baby.healthguru.com/quiz/parenting-iq-the-crazy-baby-quiz/0?utm_campaign=parentingiq) 

While I wasn't sure if it would spread from person to person, I believed that scratching would make it spread on yourself.

Well, before watching A Clockwork Orange, I thought it was about an innocent person who was conditioned to be evil. It's a little ironic considering the true premise.

I know it's not a myth, but whatever.
