Mario doesn't skin Racoon Dogs alive to get his suit, he gets it from a leaf. I know that game was just a parody, but honestly, the fact that they relate Mario to skinning live animals is disgusting, and saying the game encourages people to wear fur is beyond ridiculous. Who are they trying to convince? I also hate how they imply that the only way to kill animals is to brutally beat and torture them while most methods are quick and painless. How is that different than euthenizing 80% of all the animals they take in? I'm all for the rightful treatment of animals, but PeTA is looking completely one-sided to me, and I'm pretty sure I'll never be supporting them.

Mario games are like a journey and Mario's like the guy who takes you through it. He esssentially represents you. He's pretty much got it together, and his conflicts are external (The princess gets kidnapped, Bowser wants him dead, ect.). He's a good guy and he's a static character, but being static isn't the same as being a bad character.

Some people think that Mario should be some sort of hard core Mafia drug dealer who's busted out of prison and lands in the Mushroom Kingdom after a hallucination, but I sure don't. I don't see why anyone would want to play as a character like that, the main character should be a role model. Mario is perfect the way he is.

Well, if it had to be someone on the list, it would probably be DK, with Wario the runner up.

If it was any major Mario character at all, definitely, definitely, definitely Bowser Jr.

Well, the title pretty much says it all. What Mario gamedo you like the best, and why?

Mine is pretty much a tie between Super Mario Bros.3 and Super Mario World, but 3 is a little better because it just had so much in it. It's complex, massive, challenging, adn full of secrets. I love (almost) all of them though.

As I recall, we traded the fan art for the Ice Capades video, with a site that doesn't exist anymore.

I also recall being somewhat scarred the first time I saw that picture of Mario holding Yoshi's bloody disembodied head.

But yeah, I'd like to see that section back.

Lol, dude, I was in that same place years ago, but I think it was worth it. I loved TMK's fan art. Too bad it's unlikely we''ll get enough people to actually get it back on TMK.

Also, I know the fanart was sent to a new site, and I also know that they disappeared from that site some time ago. I've seen a few familiar peices of artwork across the web,but most of them I couldn't find.

My favorite thing on TMK used to be the fan art and fan fiction sections. Seriously, those were some of the coolest things I had ever seen. Some were amaturish and some were professional, but they were all really fun to look at. I remember coming to this site one day and looking for it and I just couldn't find it. I was sad. I know there's an art forum, but it's just not the same, Anyone with me on this one?

I'm not exactly sure how I can explain it clearly. You know how in comic books how they have the original series and then a whole bunch of  spinoffs? (e.g you got spiderman, Ultimate spiderman, noir spiderman, and a bunch of different spidermans) Well the core games would probably have to be one thing and all his spinoffs (Mario Kart, Mario and Luigi, Mario party, paper Mario, all that good stuff) would be other things. Especially Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi because they pretty much already have their own continunity withing themselves.

I fail to see how it's "impossible" or why those are the only games that should be counted.

There's over 200 games. If you can prove that they can all be made sense out of while not contradicting each other I'll admit I was wrong. I thought of these games because they're the mainstream Mario games.

Rofl, I didn't mean THAT realistic. I meant something a bit like Super smash bros. Brawl's mushroomy kingdom stage combined with a bit less cartoony looking Mario. Think of Twilight Princess except with Mario characters instead of Zrlda Characters.

Exactly. I think it would be cool to have one Mario game that's a bit darker and more realistic looking. It would have some controversy compared to the nice cartoony Mario games, but that's why it would only be one game.
