While we're on the thread of Mario Kart, (see, no typos that time) has anyone ever tied with your opponent for time?

Example:
Mario gets 1'44"22.
Luigi gets 1'44"22.

What happens? I know it's really a long shot to do, but I've really been pondering on this for days! Helpppp!

On the SNES version you must do an additional six laps...

Well, chances are, they didn't finish exactly the same, for example 4.234 seconds as opposed to 4.235 seconds, but they're both 4.23 seconds.
