Author Topic: Your WiiWare Hopes  (Read 3213 times)

I don't have a link to it, but Nintendo once said that they could make sequels to games with the WiiWare (didn't they?)

With Mega Man 9 (while not a WiiWare exclusive) they proved they could still make old games.

One of my hopes is for a Super Mario Kart 2. It would have the same graphics engine as the Snes game, more characters (Toadette, Wario, Waluigi maybe), more courses based off of old Mario locales (more than from SMW: How about a Subcon themed course?), definitely more battle courses (we need more like Battle Course 2 and Battle Course 4, though 1 was fun), and more items (bring the feather back, remove the blue shell!)

A track creator would be nice, but I think that would be pushing it..

If they were to make a sequel to one of your favorites, which one would it be and possibly what features would be in it?

A new side-scrolling Mario platformer would be ideal.  Preferrably similar to SMW in the way of powerups and number of levels.

Instead of a platformer on Wiiware, they need to make a full-fledged, holy crap edition of it on the Wii itself. If they do that, they'd be able to put way more effort into it. I believe that if they were thinking about a platformer on Wiiware, it'd just be a slightly updated version of NSMB (kinda like how Mario Kart Wii was Double Dash with a bit more shadowing, saturation of color, and smoothness).

...and new characters, stages, items, vehicles, and controls.

Pretty much this, but with more levels, and perhaps a SMAS-SMB3 style of graphics. Then again, maybe not. SMW's were pretty sweet.

Didn't they also say that they could add new content to games on the VC? What happened to that? I don't recall hearing about a game that is on the VC being edited in any way from it's original form (besides being downloadable..)

Oh yeah, that's right... didn't they say they were going to do new Mario/Zelda games on WiiWare? Or not... *shrug*
