I see you managed to get most of the Mario references from Animal Crossing up promptly.  I can confirm that the "M" shirt isn't just a custom design (I delivered one to Tangy once.)  But there is one more reference (that I know of) that you missed:
When you hit certain rocks with a shovel (I think there's one per character per day) it'll turn red, bounce to the side, and drop a bag of bells.  If you can then hit the rock 4+ times before it fades to gray again, it'll drop large sums of bells, and play the Mario 1-up tune.
That's it!

The "M" shirt is called "Big Brother Shirt" or something, right?

Sweet! "big bro's shirt"... Tom Nook had it for sale today. ^^

Rocks have never moved for me. :( Maybe tomorrow...

Chupp: I remember seeing an "L" shirt on NOJ's Animal Forest (N64) page also.

I need to get that game. Soon. I wish I had infinite funds. With Starfox Adventures and SMA3 coming... I'll need to get paid again...

Another reference:

One of Totakeke's songs, called K.K. Song, is that one song from the Mario Paint title screen, the song that also plays after a while on the Yoshi's Story level select screen.  It's a secret song, so you'll have to request it to hear it.

Is that song from something else, or is Mario Paint its origin?  It seems kind of strange...

I think it came from Mario Paint... you know, in the obstacle course type levels in Yoshi's Story, that tune is also in those.

None shall dispute my word!
That was a joke.
