Paper Mario had two stores in Toad Town, and one was Harry's Shop. I believe he mostly sold attack items, so what Yoshi bought and what kind of item is leaking a blue liquid is open for interpretation.

I'll tell you one thing, it's certainly not a blue explosion. Not a blue explosion created by a Mario Kart item that hits you way too often. It wouldn't be, seeing as this has nothing to do with items in Mario Kart that hit you way too often. Nope.
