Title: What does your room look like?
Post by: BP on October 02, 2005, 05:03:28 PM
Post pictures or links to pictures of your room. If you think it's a little unbelieveable, put you in it. I actually have a room divided by a wall, so I'm going to video it. As soon as I can get the camera from my sister and learn how to put MPEGs on the internet (hint).

If birds breathed fire everytime they posted, the forum would''ve blow''d up by now.

Actually, MarioBros2 beat both of you.  Granted, it's not exactly the same topic.  But similiar, it is.

this is one of the most pointless topics in this forum.

I could create a list of A HUNDRED more pointless threads in this sub-forum with NO EFFORT AT ALL.

I don't have a camera for taking a picture, but let's just say my dorm room has a carpet duct-taped to the floor and has several cardboard boxes which I use as table under my bed loft. My desk has less than one square foot of actual desk visible (that is, not covered with something).

\\WARNING\\

The upcoming link leads you to a folder containing pictures of my room. These photographs are of my room as it would be if you ran into my house and busted into my room without warning.

The room has not been given a thorough pre-photograph cleaning, sweeping or anything else like that. The photographs contain the real, raw deal. Though, to give myself some credit, this is my room at it's messiest, and most of the time it looks real nice.

Ah!! My eyes! I could have sworn I saw a milk spill behind your bed... *shivers*

I like to be very neat. My room has to be clean, or I can't go in there. :P I have a lot of Mario and Zelda stuff everywhere. My old bed sheets had Mario in it. But, my dog decided to give me a little Christmas present on it!

Speaking of Nazis, I recently found a comic book in my room entitled "Godzilla 1945: Godzilla vs. Hitler". Yes, Godzilla. Versus. Hitler.

The domain under my bed has the coolest stuff ever. Read my ancient, long-dead topic "It Came From Under My Bed!" for more details. Just don't bump it, or the Nazis will come for you.

Just to clarify some things that may confuse:

--Those hats are covering my bedposts, as my bed is the bottom half of my dad's bunkbed from when he and my uncle were kids (I believe my brother has the other half) and I need somewhere to store those things/would prefer people don't accidentally impale themselves. I never really wear any of those hats, though, and they frequently find themselves strewn about after my fairly frequent sleepwalking incidents.

--As for the stuffed animals... well, that's my little area of whimsy, I guess. The bear was given to me when I was born, the monkey aside him is a smaller, purple version of a large stuffed ape I used to have in my closet, and the rest are remnants of my obsessions with Garfield and Pokemon.

This is only most of one wall, so alternate angles are to come.

Wow, this thread had a stormy history.

BP basically founded this thread to post a video of his room and 3 years later still hasn't.

I just moved into a "new" house that we've been renovating for a year. Here is what my room looks like so far.

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/5310/file0005r.jpg
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/7885/file0006u.jpg
http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/8119/file0008r.jpg
http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/7254/file0009zdr.jpg

The first one is the top of my temporary dresser. Yes, I have a female manikin head. The second one is my desk with my computer and MyBook. Third is my gigantic bed. Last one is my closet... with a shelf.

Yeah, we're moving kinda slow.

Not really much to say about this. The note on the wall is from my senior night celebration stuff, and the black things on the bed (from left) are a beanbag chair and my netbook.

Some other images showing my room, as well as an image showing the room I'm usually looking at, can be found here (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v339/donotcare95/Room/). The guest password is "slivers".

Time for a pictorial tour of my room(s). Be forewarned: Large images are dead ahead. Also for any and all neat-freaks out there: I am not a neat person. Do not expect neatness in these photos.

Disclaimers over, start the pictures.

We'll begin in the bedroom.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850213.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850213.jpg)
This is the closet. It is also the home for all of my junk computers. The stack on the right consists of, from the bottom upwards, a Windows 98-era Compaq Presario, a Windows 98-era Monorail, a Windows XP-era Compaq Presario, a Windows 95-era Compaq Presario, and an Old World PowerMac G4. On the left are the innards of those and other computers.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850214.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850214.jpg)
The bed. On the left is an improvised bookshelf made of milk cartons, which is positioned directly to the right of the closet. The bed is in the same state it was in when I stopped reading a couple of hours ago.
(Yes, I do all of my reading either at school or on the bed.)

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850215.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850215.jpg)
Almost all of what is on the walls of my bedroom. They are, from left to right, a running medal, a Super Mario Galaxy Christmas stocking, a running medal, and a running medal. No, I didn't win. The medals are all for "participation".

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850216.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850216.jpg)
Directly downwards from the medals and stocking. The thing on the wall is a styrofoam hovercraft I made for a science class. On the floor and chair is clothing. On the desk are (from left to right) a pencil sharpener, a glove holding an ocarina, The Legend of Drizzt: Book 1, a Bible, my netbook on top of a PHP book and a MySQL book, and The Legend of Drizzt: Books 2 though 6. The mouse on the bed is not connected to anything.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850217.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850217.jpg)
The (real) bookshelf. The House of Pipes was from 8th grade art class. It wasn't until about a week after I made it that I played Super Mario RPG and found out that Mario lives in a "Pipe House" with a pipe on top of it.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850218.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850218.jpg)
Books!
On the right is the edge of a board full of pictures of me being quite small. And a couple of pictures of my parents. And maybe a couple of grandparents as well.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850219.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850219.jpg)
The dresser. I painted it when I was about nine years old.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850220.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850220.jpg)
The top of the dresser. Like I said, I am not a neat person.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850221.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850221.jpg)
This is hanging above the dresser. It's my number from the race in which I got my fastest time in the 5K.

Now onward to the computer room!

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850222.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850222.jpg)
One corner of the computer room. It houses an iMac and an old printer, as well as a $20 Wal-Mart guitar that goes out of tune when I look at it funny.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850223.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850223.jpg)
My computer. Also more or less my living quarters. The side of the computer is off for ventilation reasons. It's been in the high 80s to 90s temperature-wise for about a week now, and the computer was having some overheating issues. There is now a fan in that window that I turn on at night to cool it down further.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850224.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850224.jpg)
The newer printer underneath the desk, along with a tangle of wires.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850225.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850225.jpg)
More wire-tanglage, and a Gravis Gamepad. And the front of a stereo.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850226.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850226.jpg)
CDs on top of the computer, as well as the position of the game cart relative to the computer. This is why it was acrobatics to get the SD card out of the Wii, Warp.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850227.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850227.jpg)
The top half of the game cart. I didn't photograph the bottom half, but it contains a Nintendo 64 its games and controllers.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850228.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850228.jpg)
The stereo.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850229.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850229.jpg)
Large television. 32 inches, to be precise.

One of the walls of the computer room is covered in cabinets, mostly full of stuff that I haven't touched in a couple of years. I'll show you the contents of those cabinets.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850233.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850233.jpg)
Here we have a bunch of games. The "lost in a jigsaw" one is pretty cool. It's a jigsaw puzzle and a maze all in one.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850234.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850234.jpg)
Abandoned clothing, globe, bedsheets, and Wii box.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850235.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850235.jpg)
More clothing and also game boxes. The ones on the left are from Sega Genesis games.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850239.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850239.jpg)
Close-up on the DS games.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850240.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850240.jpg)
R/C truck and a crate of junk.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850241.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850241.jpg)
When I say junk, I mean junk.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850242.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850242.jpg)
Mostly craft-ish, buildable things.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850243.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850243.jpg)
Old school binders, loads of film, and toys from ages ago.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850244.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850244.jpg)
Stuffed animals!

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850245.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850245.jpg)
Other shelves filled with stuff. These ones don't have doors.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850246.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850246.jpg)
More.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850247.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850247.jpg)
And more. The golf trophy is nothing of circumstance; I received it upon completing a bunch of golf lessons that I hated.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850248.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850248.jpg)
The door to the room covers the doorless shelves when it's open.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850249.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850249.jpg)
The only things decorating the walls of the computer room. Namely, a clock, a group picture from my 8th grade class trip to Washington, D.C., and a circular paper with the number 2 on it that my younger sister put there a few years ago.

http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850250.jpg (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd51/BriGuyNinetyTwo/rooms/SN850250.jpg)
Couch currently out of order. Unless you happen to be a book or a piece of mail or a change bucket or something like that.

One last picture of the Mac and the printer, just for the heck of it.

Luigi in a jar? You mean the one that is in mint condition complete with tag and has been concealed so it may never again be touched by human hands?

That's him on the shelf, next to the Wing Cap Mario. He can teleport at will and make himself look like a normal Luigi.

Lots of clothes, most of them clean. I've given up on being able to get into my closet, so my shirts are hung on the outside of the closet door. The plastic bag on the other door contains some Debrox.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Flh3.ggpht.com%2F_z3qOPdy0bWw%2FSoxi-j-AGCI%2FAAAAAAAACaY%2FuDPbG18IIAE%2Fs800%2FIMG_3638.JPG&hash=33ef776ebcc6c11e95875ec8bbf32e0c)
More clothes, an M&M calendar, an assortment of antiperspirants (in the hopes that one day one of them might work), the book where I drew masterpieces like Glorb Poor And Stealing Stuff, Lizard Dude Filing His Tax Return, and Calvin and the Cool Edges, as well as the kings and Koopalings series. Also some other stuff that I'll talk about later. The letter A is on the wall because my name starts with it.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Flh4.ggpht.com%2F_z3qOPdy0bWw%2FSoxjDTN-pkI%2FAAAAAAAACac%2FTWCqDuS-Ju4%2Fs800%2FIMG_3639.JPG&hash=f678f2188ad3bce1d53a0ec9ce363b66)
My desk. 9-inch TV, a bunch of paper covering up a DVD player I haven't used in years, some kind of clock lamp thing, a Logitech GCN wheel that I'm pretty sure is broken, a Made in the 80s hat with Mario on it, my Wii, some socks, two hard drives, and beneath the desk are a stack of VHSs and an old stereo. Also some other stuff that I'll talk about later.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Flh4.ggpht.com%2F_z3qOPdy0bWw%2FSoxjJJh_9VI%2FAAAAAAAACag%2FiQO8YuCg1IE%2Fs800%2FIMG_3640.JPG&hash=3cfe3f87fdd02f33d1c3ad3072b8f0ac)
Top to bottom, left to right: A CD carrying case that I've never used, the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire home game, a couple jigsaw puzzles I've never done, the Price is Right home game, a Ripley's Believe It Or Not board game that I'm pretty sure has no instructions and only half the pieces and that I've never played, the Wheel of Fortune home game (a Tyco version where the letter frequencies are on the board; we've got an older Pressman version where you have to look that up in an included book somewhere in the attic), a woodburning kit that I only ever used to melt Lego people, a foam noodle used to cheer on my college's various sports teams at games I've never been to, a red plastic basket filled mostly with old Garfield cartoons, some of my creations from pottery classes I took at school in 01-02 and 02-03, RollerCoaster Tycoon 1, the few GBA boxes that I left intact, a pack of remote attachments for Wii Sports that I've never used, a miniature presidential podium I made for a president costume once, my DS games (My Japanese Coach, Mario Kart DS, Wario Ware Touched, Jam Sessions, Kirby Super Star Ultra, Geometry Wars Galaxies, Animal Crossing Wild World, Meteos, Yoshi's Island DS, Sonic Rush, New Super Mario Bros., Sonic Rush Adventure, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, and Tetris DS), a Pirates of the Caribbean puzzle, Slanty Jenga, an unnecessarily large DS starter kit, the Harry Potter books that aren't currently being borrowed by someone, an old Cheez-It box, a Left Behind RTS that I tried to play once, various other empty computer game boxes, some computer books from a class a couple semesters back, pre-WM+ jackets, more DS games (Final Fantasy IV, Chrono Trigger, The World Ends With You, Phantom Hourglass, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, Brain Age, n+, Mario Hoops, Elite Beat Agents, Diddy Kong Racing, an empty NSMB box), some GCN and Wii games (Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos, Melee, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, Starfox Adventures, Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee, Sonic Mega Collection, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Ocarina / Master Quest, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Blastworks, F-Zero GX, Toadstool Tour, Okami (with the green cover), Metroid Prime 2, Metroid Prime 3 (my brother's borrowing the first one), and Skies of Arcadia), a Deal or No Deal game, an old hard drive, Febreze, a stuffed Knuckles whose head needs to be sewn back on, a Wii baseball cap, some empty CD jewel cases, my second-most-used Bible, some pencils, a Wii Zapper, a giant black and white painting I did for a useless class last year, Baten Kaitos Origins, Four Swords Adventures, and some Wii games that aren't facing the camera but which are probably Wii Sports Resort, Wii Music, Mario Galaxy, and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Flh3.ggpht.com%2F_z3qOPdy0bWw%2FSoxjN7gjDeI%2FAAAAAAAACak%2Fvv316jrbDVI%2Fs800%2FIMG_3641.JPG&hash=f5ffffb5ab4509d883ff2576177d1a7f)
A shelf/desk thingie at the foot of my bed, though I now sleep on my bed backwards. This is where I put my laptop, as well as two fans, one of those purple lightning sphere things, two decks of cards, and whatever I decide to put on top of my most-used Bible (ESV Study Bible) -- currently, from bottom to top, some CDs, The Core DVD (perfectly good popcorn movie, and Hillary S**** is hot), a GBA SP, Chris Sawyer's Locomotion, a Gideon New Testament, Age of Empires I and II, Rhythm Heaven, my DSi, a necklace, the expanded edition of Jeff Rovin's How To Win At Nintendo Games, and the Club Nintendo hanafuda cards.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Flh4.ggpht.com%2F_z3qOPdy0bWw%2FSoxjRs9F-DI%2FAAAAAAAACao%2FaL8_XKyTMn4%2Fs800%2FIMG_3642.JPG&hash=71be91057147958e7c99ca495977dd71)
This one apparently got borken somewhere between my camera and here, but the basics are still there. My bed, with the lens cap on it.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Flh3.ggpht.com%2F_z3qOPdy0bWw%2FSoxjXVLJgMI%2FAAAAAAAACas%2FxdPW6BcD6wQ%2Fs800%2FIMG_3643.JPG&hash=d468e960e8605e4072babcc08e4e98b6)
My bookshelf, which doesn't really have any books on it. Points of interest: An original GBA (control pad is screwed up), shaving cream, Listerine that expired two months ago but tastes alright, a jar of coins, some Nintendo Powers and EGMs, and the Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence (the Constitution is out of frame), and, if you look closely, the brown poster paint I used to play Mr. T in a movie a few years back.

Compulsive hoarding. Apparently that's a real and intense dangerous mental condition or just a very well constructed excuse for laziness.
Title: Re: What does your room look like?
Post by: CrossEyed7 on August 20, 2009, 01:26:26 PM
Mine's due mostly to that my room is actually supposed to be twice as big as this but we put a wall up a while ago for some reason, so there's not really enough room for both stuff and floor, and that I've never been fully unpacked ever since I started college three years ago, here or there, because neither place feels permanent enough.
Title: Re: What does your room look like?
Post by: SolidShroom on August 20, 2009, 01:55:05 PM
I guess I should post pictures of my room, although it's also fairly small and messy although I suppose it isn't that bad. I dunno, it's alright.

So the first attached image is my bed, taken from my door. It's in the middle of my room, extending out a fair distance, and while it divides my room into small sections, I don't particularly mind it that much, although when I used to have it up against the wall there was certainly a lot more floor in my room.

Then, there's the shelf with all of my games and movies and a few stuffed animals and things. There's one more level that isn't seen in the picture because the shelf is too tall and it's blocked by clutter on the floor anyway. And yes, I am aware that my reflection is in the TV.

Third, my computer where I spend most of my time. There's the guitar amp on top of the monitor too. And of course an abundance of Green tea bottles.

Lastly, my TV set and games. Yes, that's again me reflected in the TV screen.

You're not by any chance building MST3K bots in your spare time, are you? You've got the freaky head Servo had in that one episode and what looks like an unpainted Crow arm.

Love the parasol (or is it a lampshade?) and the Game Boy Camera, not sure about the empty box of baby wipes, and I see that you put the Windows taskbar at the top of the screen like me.

All in all, a very intriguing glimpse.

EDIT: Now that I'm looking at this on an actual screen and not a DSi, I see that that doesn't look as much like Crow's arm as I initially thought, and you've got a $2 bill.

Chupperson has absolutely no reason to play Kingdom Hearts. "He hasn't played it" doesn't work because he has hundreds of other games he hasn't played either that would come before it.

I forgot to mention that Scott Pilgrim is cool but I still haven't read book five.

Chup has the same remote as my TV.

And do you always keep all your stuff (including a Genesis, with 3zX and game already plugged in) in one massive pile up against two walls of your room, or did you just get done with a marathon nerdgasm?

Or is it for picture purposes?
Title: Re: What does your room look like?
Post by: Chupperson Weird on August 25, 2009, 10:50:39 AM
Lampshade. Baby wipe box has floppy disks in it.
The "massive pile" is pretty organized except the stuff to the right of the TV. Genesis is always there (also has Sega CD), and I have more game systems in the table under the TV. But to answer your question, it's always like that.
Ran out of room on shelves which is why PS3 is on top of TV.
