If Nintendo stopped publishing Mario spin-offs, would They lose Mario fans? This includes Mario Kart, SSB, Mario Party, and Luigi/Peach/whatever games.
-
I think so. Because if there were no spinoffs, there would be only two or three Mario games for each system, and plus, I know some diehard Mario spin-off fans. Like, they don't play the original games, but they're all about the spin-offs.
-
The spin-offs were easier then the EA games, which attracted video game beginners. They had a style and personality that many gamers loved. Besides, they were a great party games, c'mon, who never had a SSBM party? But it IS getting out of hand. What next, Mario Football?
-
I voted yes, but I don't think people will dislike Mario, they'll just be mad that there aren't anymore MK games coming out(personally I could stand that as long as I had MK:DD).
-
I chose no because if you where a true mario fan like me , you would still like him.
-
This is a good question. I think it all comes down to how likes what. For the people who love a good ol' platformer, then I think they would enjoy seeing the spin-off's trashed. Vice versa for the Kart and Party junkies. I would miss the spin-off's, just because some of the idea's are down right awesome.
-
Ever since Mario Party 7 came out I have seen so many people buying it, they obviously were not farmiliar with Mario (For what ever reason that might be.), for most of you hate the the almost quadropled seiries, or at least not like what they are doing with it, sorry, but with that expereince, I'll have to say no.
-
I think some might dislike it, but maybe not quit Mario games. Then again, a lot of Mario games are like this post asked. Not many originals. Where's the nostalgia?
-

WTD, that doesn't make any sense at all.
-
Mario Party/Super Princess Peach: No.
SSB/Mario Kart: YES.
-
Hey, SPP looks awesome, dude. I am so going to buy that game. Besides, I'm pretty sure it'll be mainstream, NOT spin-off.
-
Like, totally righteous, dude! I meant that I want the nostalgia! Bring it on!!!!!!
-
Heeeeeey, I'm DUDE!
Some ideas would be great to scrap, ie. Mario Party. There is just WAY too many.
-
I would still be a mario fan, even though they would make no more spinoffs. Nintendo & Mario all the way!
-
Well, it's a tie. 8 votes for yes and 8 votes for no. As for me, I voted no.
-
Keep Mario Kart... that's it. Kill the Parties and everything else, just let me have my Kart racing. Of course then they would probably make like one of those every year, so they would become the next Mario Parties...
-

I thought you were talking about a future game called SSBM Party. Wouldn't that be weird?
-
What's wrong with Party? It's not bad. I guess only PaperLuigi and me like Variety in our games because you all hate Parties.
-
And about Wario games, I don't know. I played one, and it wasn't that fun, but it was funny to see Wario run around looking for money.
-
they dont make any more of the original "get bigger with mushroom & invincible with star" adventure games, so these days, i only got the spin offs. plus the mk games like mkdd rocked
-
*Waits for New Super Mario Bros.*
-
I was surprised and happy they added a Super Mushroom in SM64DS. Nothing beats going on a rampage at twice-thrice your normal size!
-
Yes, that was fun raging around killing everything in sight, but the speed was way too slow for me.
-
SSB isn't a spinoff. But I would be mad without any Mario Kart.
-

Right on. Parties rule!
-
Hey, I don't hate Mario Party- just the second one.
-
The second one is my favorite, because the mini-games are way above par. Now that I think about it, the 5th one isn't the worst. In fact, it's the best Gamecube one. The 6th MP was the worst, due to sub-par minigames.
-
I voted "no", to make it more even.
-
I'm fine with the spin-off titles. But when the third party that's making it starts to put in their own licensed characters I draw the line.
Aarom, there isn't much variety in all the Mario Parties. I like them, but most of them are the exact same game with a few new features and party map facelifts.
-
JUst buy the first one and you'll be content.
-
You all must remember that Mario was much worse in the old days, he had the same side-scroller jumping around. Not to mention not changing the gameplay at all with SMAS. Mario also had more crappy games in the old days and ports.
-
SMAS is supposed to be a remake. If they changed the gameplay it defeats the purpose.
-
Yeah, but I am SO tired of seeing people bash New Mario. Yeah, It's their opinion but still.
-
As if there was any real change in MP's gameplay from 1-7
-
As if there is any change in the gameplay in the 2-D Mario.
-
Mario Football, good one.
Mario Basketball is being made by Square Enix (???) for the DS. Square Enix making a sports game... scary.
I want Square Enix and Nintendo to make a new Mario RPG for the DS or Revolution!
-
No. What we need is a third Paper Mario, which is superior to Super Mario RPG in every way.
Hey you guys think Square might put Cloud as an unlockable character in Mario 3 on 3 Basketball?
-
You know, the only reason I posted this topic is because I'm sick of people always bashing Mario. I always heard Mario sucks. I'm so tired of it. is anyone else tired of this bashing?
-
Yeah. Everyone says Mario is too kiddy when they only saw a few games! Mario is my hero!
-
I'm talking about Mario Party.
-
All Mario Partys are good games, but no really good changes have happened in them.
-
You all should know that Hudson, the developer, is in the red for market loss. So they need money. Then they make more Mario Parties.
