Title: HomeBar Runner
Post by: BP on January 17, 2006, 01:20:01 AM
Have you ever emailed Strong Bad? Did it get answered? How far have you gotten on Stinkoman 20X6? Without using the continue? Favorite character, toon, sbemail, main page, whatever? If you're going to post something about Homestar Runner, post it here.

My favorite big toon is Where's the Cheat. Favorite short would have to be Senor Mortgage. Holiday: Under Construction. My favorite sbemail is bottom 10. 2nd favorite sbemail is for kids (the Cheat is behind the freaking BOX!!!)  I've emailed Strong Bad a few times... none of them were answered. I almost emailed him asking how he typed with boxing gloves on, too! None of them were answered. For Stinkoman 20X6, I've beaten level 1, 3, and I would have beaten level 2 if it weren't for that stupid floorless-glitch. Also, I wonder what's taking so long for Decemberween '05.

I just discovered HomestarRunner.com last week.  It's a great site!  I watched most of the toons, shorts and sbemails this weekend.  My favorite is probably "Ballad of the Sneak" or any animation featuring the Cheat Commandos.  My favorite character is Homsar.

Strong Bad and Strong Mad are just way too funny. I like Strong Bad's emails.

Also, I wonder what's taking so long for Decemberween '05.

Maybe it's gonna be celebrated in July again. ;P

I don't like the "for kids" email. Strong Bad gets kinda violent. I like "long pants", though. I mean, what's better than watching Homestar go nuts? "But I was told long pants! Long pants! They said long pants! Long, white pants! Gleaming pants! GLORIOUS PANTS!!!" I also have the Strong Bad email DVD's

I've emailed Strong bad twice, but the dude never answers!  I want to be a part of HSR immortality by having my email spawn a new HSR fad.  Like the kid who sent in the email about the comic she wanted Strong bad to make, which ended up being the great Teen Girl Squad comics.
Title: Re: HomeBar Runner
Post by: NintendoExpert89 on January 17, 2006, 06:54:40 PM
Actually, the girl who sent the comic email actually sent it to the Brothers Chaps' email address, not Strong Bad's.

Homestar: Keeeep ooon huggin' it.

Strong Bad: How did you get me to do this in the first place?

Homestar: Hug it! Hug it!

Strong Bad: And why do I continue to do it?

Homestar: Keep on huggin' it. Hug it down.

Strong Bad: I don't even like this tree that much.

Dear Strong Bad
You never grow out of your boots or pants. Is there a lack of proteen in your diet? Your body's way too small for your head.

(I spelled protein wrong on purpose. This text wasn't in the email.)

Yeah, I sent an email to him a while back, lemme try to remember it...

Dear Strong Bad,

I would like to ask you a few things.
-Do you like Pokemon?
-What's your favorite video game?
-Have you seen the movie Madagascar?

www.homestarrunner.com  If it is your first time there, be sure to click "First Time Here?".  The games are not always that great.  Down at the bottome, try clicking "toons" or "SB email".   It is a flash site that many people like.

Here's a bit of pointless HSR info: When I got hooked on it, the newest Strong Bad email was "rock opera".
Title: Re: HomeBar Runner
Post by: BP on January 21, 2006, 03:11:20 PM
When I got hooked on HSR, Geddup Noise was the newest. Not long ago, I know.
The games, like Markio said, aren't all good... but check out Stinkoman 20X6 (http://homestarrunner.com/stinkogame/v7/stinkogame.html). It's almost INTENTIONAL proof that graphics don't make video games fun. Peasant's quest is OK, too. Secret collect and SBzone are probably the least good. You have to see the email "video games" to understand thier purpose.
edit: forgot the "html" in the URL.

Title: Re: HomeBar Runner
Post by: BP on January 22, 2006, 04:08:06 PM
www.videlectrix.com
Speaking of Videlectrix, a Videlectrix Collection DS should be made and sold in the store! It could have Stinkoman 20X6 (With save files instead of continue), Peasant's Quest (Touch Screen Keyboard), Trogdor,  Pop. Tire, maybe (Touch screen makes everything possible). Or at least Stinkoman 20X6 for GBA, that thing could sell a few million, even if only sold in the Store at normal GBA game price. No graphics or music ghanges, either. Stinkoman 20X6 is perfect as is. Except the no-ground glitch. That needs fixing.

I almost didn't post this topic. Remember when I said "I should make a Strong Bad email topic"? That's what this is, but it's more like... General Homestar chat. Then I thought "Huuuh... It would probably end up having a stop sign saying Pop: GiftedGirl & Bird Person. But maybe it'll turn other people onto it!" Glorb, score 1!

Today me and my friend had detention. When we got to leave, he said "We're free!" and I said "We're ointmeeeent!"
Before that, he was explaining some multicolored popcorn in a huge bucket his family got for Chrstmas. "They taste the same," he said. I shouted "But look DIFFERENT!!!"

Haha. Homestar Runner is awesome. It's really cool that the income from the website alone is enough to support the people who work on the site.  Not a single ad as well. Thumbs up.

Which reminds me, I've been wanting to buy me a Strong Bad beanie or a Star t-shirt from their store.  I should one of these days.

Or at least ask for a gift certificate for my birthday or something.

The first Strongbad email I watched was "Japanese Cartoon". I didn't know at the time that there was more where it came from.
Later, I found the site and ended up spending FAR more time on my slow computer watching flash cartoons than anyone should.
I have e-mailed strongbad but I cannot, for the life of me, remember what I asked.
I really love the references to 80's culture (especially videogames), but the constant stream of in-jokes makes it easy to get confused (or just to miss some of the funnier moments), if you don't start at the beginning.
Does anyone know how old the characters are supposed to be? I usually want to think of them as college students, but I know people who will argue to the death with me.

I'm going to tell you all how I discovered Homestar Runner.

You All: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!11!!!

Yes, I am. Now listen good, or the chocolate gets it!

It was actually this forum that gave me my first taste of Homestar Runner, back when I was still considered a bit of a newby. There was this one topic where someone asked how to put up links. One guy put up a link to The Cheat Music Video. I didn't get any of it. 'Cept for the Pika cameo. ^_^

Then, 'bout a year later, this one kid in my class showed me the SBemail "Japanese Cartoon", which, like Screech, was my first SBemail. I was instantly hooked. Then I realized where it came from, and decided to investigate. *gets brick'd for cliche* The first place I went was the First Time Here?(dur), then straight to the Strong Bad emails. I didn't remember what Homestar and The Cheat looked like, but I instantly recognised them when I saw them. Nowadays, I still revel The Cheat as the guy who introduced me to this coolity, but I'm more of a Strong Bad fangirl. *blushes heavily*

Whoa, is it just me, or does it seem like everyone has a CT these days?

SB: It's just you.  Now make way for the King of Coolity...ness, The Cheat!

Jman: What?  I get upstaged by a rodent?

Homestar: You'll get used to it.  he took my job 2 years ago.

Jman: Homestar, you're the site's namesake.

Homestar: Oh, wight.  BUt wait, if that's true, then Marzipan really is a broom!  I knew it!

Marzipan: *socks Homestar to Planet Popstar*

Homestar: Hey Kirby!

Okay, guys, I'm gonna put something up, try and see if any of these identify with you.

You Know You've Been to homestarrunner.com Too Much When...

- Whenever you get an email, you read it aloud and make fun of any and all misspellings and grammatical errors.
- You've developed a speach impediment... that you're sure you didn't have before you started watching the HSR stuff.
- You have costumes for all of the main charas, even the Poopsmith and the KOT. (Us of the female species would hafta wear a shirt with the SB costume, but whatev.)
- You've memorized every toon, song, answering machine and email... WORD FOR WORD. (Yes, even the easter eggs.)
- Instead of "job", you say "jorb".
- You have a small pet named after The Cheat, and it does small assignments for pencil shavings and makes bad Flash cartoons.
- You're found quoting the website a little too often.
- When you saw the fourth Harry Potter movie(or some other movie with at least one dragon in it), you sang the Trogdor song. Y'know, TROGDOOOOOOOOOR!!!
- When someone asks you how they look, you tell them they look SO GOOOOOOOOD!
- You've made either melonade, piemonade or Sudsuu.

If you guys can think of anything else, by all means CONTRIBUTE!
Title: Re: HomeBar Runner
Post by: BP on February 07, 2006, 08:04:55 PM
I've actually considered making Suudsu, but we never have Gummi Bears.
-When you type in program file names to start them.
-You sing "Stave it off, 1, 2, 3, and now you can count to 3." to little kids.
-You like Marshie
-You say "JEEAAOOORRREAAARGHB!" Instead of "jorb."
-You ask the zookeepers when the huuuuuudges' exhibit will be up.
-You beat Peasant's Quest with your eyes closed

Edit: Check this out!

Title: Re: HomeBar Runner
Post by: BP on February 08, 2006, 12:59:59 AM
In sharpie, you write "ENGLILSH" on your English textbook cover.
Instead of insulting someone by saying, "You live in a shack," or "You live in a dumpster," you say "You live in a burninated thatched-roof cottage."
People ask you what "thatched-roof" means.
You tell them.
They understand.

When someone tries to get you to go somewhere, you mention you've got plans with Homestar and the boys.

When you write a Homestar Runner movie and try to get a deal with a Hollywood director.

When someone's house is on fire, you shout "Burninated!" (That's cruel, I know.)

When you reach for a bag of corn chips, a warrior pops out and slices you in half.

You make many Homestar Runner references in Mario-themed stories. (I am guity of this.)

While watching any movie with a swordfight, you yell "Sworded!" whenever anyone gets stabbed.

You say "I've gotta check-a my emails!"  with your best StrongBad accent whenever you're on the computer.

You actually laught at the "Castlefunnies."  (I don't know how that's possible!)

You commonly use insults from the mouth of StrongBad when dealing with people you don't like.

And the number one reason you know you've been going to Homestarrunner.com way too much is...

You write your own Homestar runner cartoons, SBemails, and even Teen Girl Squad toons.  (I actually wrote a two part TGS story.  It's totally sound recorded on my computer.  I'll post the details of it later on.)

I've been guilty of quoting the website too much and making melonade.

Oh, and I saw someone had drawn a piccy where Homestar and Strong Bad are watching the fourth HP movie and Homestar asks "When does Dumbledore die?" and Strong Bad's like "You moron! This movie was filmed before that book even came out!"

Fellow residents of the Homebar, I have some unfortunate news to report.  I have decided not to novelize the Sonic X/Homestar Runner crossover "Quest For the Planets."  This comes after much deliberation and the fact that I still have an all-original character novel to finish.  If someone else wants to take this idea and run with it, by all means, go ahead.  There's nothing to rip off, since I never posted any chapters here.

I like almost every character, except the really quiet dude, The Poopsmith.  You know, I almost wish he didn't take that "vow of silence".  It would've made the toons funnier.  Like in the "Strong Bad goes to Jail Toon", it would've been funny if they like interrogated him or something, and he wouldn't cooperate, and throw crap at them.  Well those are my thoughts about the Poopsmith, not that I'm interested in poop or anything.

I know how you know. You know how I know how you know. It was from "2 emails," Homestar emailed Strong Bad saying "I made a time machine with a blender and a Game Boy. I used your blender, and your Game Boy." It was during the fast forward.

You people (BP&GG) are like completely obsessed with Homestarrunner as much as you sre with Mario. I mean, I watch it, memorize lines, and other crap, but you guys memorize all of the freakin emails.
EDIT: I envy you guys for that.

Boy, with the recent barrage of new stuff over at HR.com, I now wish that I had written that Sonic/Homestar crossover, seeing as how I could have rewritten the script and made it so much better than what we've seen on Saturdays all year long.

Because Sonic X's season is almost over.  There'd be no point to it.

Woah woah, Mario is higher up on my list than H*R, but by a LOT. So your "as much as Mario" comment is not accurate. Not saying Homestar sucks, but Mario is, and always will be, my #1. Homestar Runner would make an awesome favorite TV show, but the Brothers Chaps have already confirmed that won't happen. But seeing as I barely watch TV at all, H*R could qualify as my favorite cartoon. No, it does.

Sometimes I wonder if Strong Bad has any other family mambers besides Strong Sad and Strong Mad. It would be funny to see Strong Mom or Strong Dad, or even.............cousin Strong Glad.

One of the top 5 emails that won't get answered is "What do your parents look like?" The other 4 are:
2. Don't ask to repeat an email.
3. How do you type with boxing gloves on?
4. What do you look like without your mask?
5. Anything that references current events, like new movies.

What if I asked him how he and Strong Sad can be related if theres no resemblance at all?
Just look at Strong Bad( mask, gloves, big head, blue cap-popping gem, etc.),then look at Strong Sad(pale face, elephant legs,overweight,etc.). How on earth can they be brothers?

Gasp!

I haven't e-mailed Strong Bad in a really long while, and quite frankly, I don't think I'm going to anymore.  \:-(

I have also thought of what a Strong Glad character would be like a few times.  I think he would actually make a really annoying character, so I'm kind of glad that there is no happy-go-lucky brother in the Strong family.

I want to E-mail Strong Bad, but I haven't been able to think of a question or suggestion that I believe would stand a chance of being chosen to be animated.

My favorites are Strong Bad, Trogdor, Eh Steve.  I love the Techno, Caffine, Japanese Cartoon, and Dragon E-mails the best.  I even downloaded the SBtechno mp3.

I thought the Emails were chosen pretty much at random.

I don't think I ever posted here yet, even though I'm a HUGE fan of H*R. Just a few of my current favorite characters are Strong Bad (of course), The Wheelchair from Sweet Cuppin' Cakes (he's in my personalized forum picture/avatar at the moment), and Arrow'd Guy from TGS (he cracks me up).

I like that Strong Sad had brightened up a bit throughout the years.  He used to simply be the depressed guy, but now he's also the smart guy and the overall talented-at-random-things-guy.  XD
For instance; he can do calligraphy, knows that a jabillion is not an actual unit of measure, can draw a kick-awesome dragon, writes poetry, and can play the guitar.
I feel as though the characters are getting a little more complex; as though their personalities are expanding....*furrows brow and nods while stoking chin*

Jabillion is not a unit of measure, but neither is hundred, thousand, or million. They are numbers.

My favorite E-mail has got to be out of these 3. Kid's Book, For Kids, or Bottom 10. Those are hilarious.

Bottom 10:
"As featured in Limozeen's oddly named Feed the Childrens: NA NA LA LA LA HEY HEY DOOT DOO!  NA NA LA LA LA HEY HEY DOOT DO! BHGHBHGBHG. Ohhh more like we had to feed our children so we made this terrible song."

For Kids:
"He's behing the FREAKIN' BOX! I'll Kill ya, I'll KILL ALL YOUR DOGS!!!"

Kid's Book:
"Some people wear braces, some people wear head-gear. Fran can play Linebacker for the Raiders."
