Title: This year is the 25th anniversary of SMB2 - Super Mario 3D World is a nice gift!

This year is the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. 2 (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/smb2), but very little mention has been made of that fact.  This seems particularly odd given that EAD Tokyo has given us a new Mario platformer starring Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Peach.

True, "Super Mario USA" isn't 25 this year, which is probably why this particular anniversary fell off Nintendo's radar(scope); however, given the connections between Super Mario Bros. 2 (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/smb2) and Super Mario 3D World (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/sm3dw), one might expect some mention of the fact by NOA.

Has anyone out there noticed anyone referencing the anniversary of SMB2?

I actually have a rough cut animation SMB2 cartoon sequel to my 25 Anniversary of SMB1.
