Does anyone else love Willy Wonka's land of wonder and Wonka as much as I do? I totally love that movie, it's just so...cool.
You all must aggree I suppose.
" I've just decided to switch our Friday schedule to Monday, which means that the test we take each Friday on what we learned during the week will now take place on Monday before we've learned it. But since today is Tuesday, it doesn't matter in the slightest."
"Of course you don't know! You don't know because only I know. If you knew and I didn't know, then you'd be teaching me instead of me teaching you--and for a student to be teaching his teacher is presumptuous and rude. Do I make myself clear?"
"MR. TURKENTINE: That's ten percent half over again, which
makes fifteen percent. Charlie Bucket, how many did you
open?
CHARLIE: Two.
MR. TURKENTINE: That's easy. Two hundred is twice one
hundred . . .
CHARLIE: Not two hundred. Just two.
MR. TURKENTINE: Two? What do you mean you only opened two?
CHARLIE: I don't care very much for chocolate.
MR. TURKENTINE: Well I can't figure out just two, so let's
pretend you opened two hundred. Now, if you opened two
hundred Wonka Bars, apart from being dreadfully sick, you'd
have used up twenty percent of one thousand, which is
fifteen percent half over again, ten percent--

It was a great movie. I read the book in 4th grade. Roald Dahl was a good man.

The movie was made better with Gene Wilder as Mr. Wonka. I also like the song he sings when all the kids enter the place with all the candy. Y'know, "There is no, place I no, that compares to pure imagination."
I wish I was in the forest with a dragon right now.

You guys would love the ultimate Star Wars Kid presentation ever made. I'll link later.

I'm looking forward to the remake directed by Tim Burton with Johnny Depp as Wonka. The original's great as well.

I don't understand why they're remaking it, since the original was so well done already, but knowing how good Big Fish and Pirates of the Caribbean were, it should be good.
-
I didn't even know he WAS remaking it...

When I first saw the movie, I was scared to death by each of the children's misfortunes. Augustus Gloop getting trapped in the pipe. Violet Beaureguard swelling into a bluberry and having to be "juiced." Veruca Salt falling through the garbage chute which led to a furnace. Mike Teevee shrinking and his mother putting him in her purse where he could easily get crushed. Scary stuff for a preschooler.

Oompa Loombas, man. The greatest part of that movie.
Where did you hear/read about Tim Burton directing a remake?
I haven't seen Willy Wonka in a long time...I'm gonna go relearn all the OompaLoompa songs now.

I first read it in the newspaper's movie/style section. It was a little three sentence blurb.
