But only in BioShock can you sit there and die over and over and actually make progress.

You're trying to bend the definition of "play" to suit your argument. It doesn't mean "be good at," or "try." It means play.

Uh, by drive I pretty much meant "not die" and by play a videogame I pretty much meant "not die".

On a related point, it's a lot easier to drive accident-free in RL than in a simulated city game like Grand Theft Auto. The controls are way better in RL and the civilian AI is way better in RL.

Can we unban Glorb yet? This is the type of discussion where I miss him.

It almost seems like Fast Eddie is deliberately flushing TV Tropes down the crapper.

How so?  (I'm a frequent visitor to the site).
I always figured "Time to tip the scales" was Wario's everyday motto.

The banishing of "subjective" tropes, the rampant renaming of existing tropes to SPOON standards, the death of an informal atmosphere in general.

Giving articles simpler names is great. Far too many pages are impossible to find if you're not a Troper.

Now if only he could banish those losers who derail every entry with in-jokes, shipping crap and opinions in general.

Maybe then, Tv Tropes can stop being such a circlejerk.
As a game that requires six friends, an HDTV, and skill, I can see why the majority of TMK is going to hate on it hard.

The idea is to become a Troper.

Half (or more) of the fun of the site is finding an unfamiliar trope, thinking "I wonder what this one is?" and spending the day clicking all the different interesting links you come across.

If every trope is Exactly What It Says On The Tin, then that fun is gone.  Besides, if you're really stumped, that's what Lost and Found is for.

If anything, Lost and Found exemplifies the need for simpler article titles.

Entries for subjective tropes may once have been good, but are now little more than poorly-disguised debate forums.
