Nintendo's release calendar (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/schedule/0807.html) now includes Wario Land Shake (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/wlsi), a Wii game coming out July 24 in Japan. We'll have more news on the game as it becomes available.

This is awesome! I love WarioWare! But, why do we need another one for the Wii? Unless it uses the balance board...That's a little different.

Wario Land? A new Wario platformer? On the Wii? Well, well... I'm cautiously pessimistic.
I heard a rumor there'll be "hand-drawn" backgrounds and cel-shaded characters. Also, here's two machine-translated interpretations of an article regarding the game:

EDIT: Here's some more supposed features:
- 20 stages
- Single-player (I doubt it)
- Varied locations (jungle, desert, ocean, ect.)
- Wiimote-shaking for special actions (shake down enemies for coins, uncover hidden locations, and so on)
- Throw certain things with the Wiimote (yes! Like that one Smooth Moves microgame I loved!)
- Vehicles like rockets and submarines; the Wiimote speaker plays a part in the use of vehicles.

Hopefully they keep the Wiimote shaking to a minimum. I'm rather fond of my wrist.

If this is indeed a new Wario Land, not WareWare, then Nintendo officially made the rest of the year for me.

Finally, a new Wario Land! Great news after the short Wario World and the not so good Master of Disguise. The game's logo reminds of that from Wario Land 4. I think this can only be a good omen. I love the WarioWare series very much, but it's sad that Wario platformers became so rare since Wario is a mini-game fanatic, though.

I actually really liked Wario World, despite its shortness. A beat-em-up fit Wario perfectly!

The game's logo reminds of that from Wario Land 4. I think this can only be a good omen.

My first thought was NSMB which would be good on Wii. They'd have to use one screen of course, but waggle could replace the touch screen power-up. My second thought was Master of Disguise which was and on the Wii would still be a very bad thing.

2. They could probably do that power-up swamp thing like in SMW.

Well, I said that because Luigison suggested motion-control for item-swapping (not swamping, though... but a marsh level in SMW would've been cool).

According to Wikipedia, the long-time look, feel and flashy action fun game is being made by Good-feel. I found that amusing.

Is Nintendo to lazy to make Wario games now? Did they just give up hope for Wario adventure games? *Sigh* Please don't let this turn out like Master of Disguise.
