Title: Whats a better buy?
Post by: Nintendoobsessed on June 11, 2007, 08:31:33 AM
Is the Sims 1 with all the expansion packs better than just buying the Sims 2? Which is better?

According to Amazon.com, a The Sims: Complete Collection is $35 (includes game and all seven expansion packs) and The Sims 2 is $25. The first offer is great if you own a PC that does not meet the requirements of The Sims 2, otherwise go for 2 since its interface has improved greatly since the original.

I'd say The Sims Complete Collections is a better value since, altogether, it has more content than The Sims 2 by itself (which is probably obvious). Generally, the majority of expansions for Sims 2 are simply "extra stuff" packs with new scenery, furniture, etc.

I'd recommend Sims 2. While you'd get a whole lot more "content" with those expansions, the system of the sequel is very much better. But like ne89 said, if you have a really weak computer, get the original.
