The object is, obviously, to describe a mario game. The one to get it will get 5 points.
I'll be your gamemaster. The question is:
This mario game was set to look 3-d, but it isn't.
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
No I'M the gamemaster... er, the 79th one anyways.
Let me take a guess (I don't have the slightest idea): Mario Vs. Donkey Kong
???
-----------------------------
Has anyone her ever wondered why we kill each other over arguments about games? Well, I geuss it is Mario, so it''s OK!
-
Nope, anyone else wanna take a guess?
Here's another, slightly easier clue: The first game Mario, Bowser, and Peach teamed up on.
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
Another big-ol' clue.
Ah, well. It narrowed it down, I guess.
Mario RPG.
Go Moon!
-
Ooh! I've got one! Ahem...this game has been remade the most of all the Mario games! (I think I have the right one in mind, if I don't you can deduct 5 points from me)
There is no ''I'' in team...Nor is there an ''I'' in group, gang, crew, squad, club, band, party, crowd, cluster, troop, or set.
-
Mario Bros.?
Atari 2600
Atari 5200?
Atari 7800?
NES
Arcade
GBA in all SMA games
GCN in Animal Crossing
e-Reader?
or
Super Mario Bros.?
NES SMB
SNES SMB SMAS and SMAS+SMW
GBC SMB Deluxe
GCN in Animal Crossing
GBA NES classic SMB (coming soon)

How does Super Mario RPG fit the discription "set to look 3-d, but it isn't"? Super Mario RPG IS 3D! It may not follow the laws of perspective, but the gameplay is still clearly three-dimensional. A more appropriate answer would have been "Yoshi's Story", though technically if you look hard enough you can probably find 3D gameplay elements in that game as well...and it might not even qualify as a "Mario" game because it does not feature Mario...
Edited by - Hirocon on 6/6/2004 6:50:41 PM
-
The graphics engine isn't truly three dimensional, I guess. You can move in three dimensions, though.
“I’m a stupid fatty and I love to play with my Easy Bake oven.â€
-
Fifth is right! The answer is, "Super Mario RPG: Legend of the seven Stars".
Score: fifth: 5
Next question is: This game was very popular, considering it was Yoshi's 2nd game.
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
Luigison, you're correct! It is Mario Bros.
There is no ''I'' in team...Nor is there an ''I'' in group, gang, crew, squad, club, band, party, crowd, cluster, troop, or set.

Ummm...is it Yoshi's Cookie? Because I thought the first game was Yoshi for the NES.
There is no ''I'' in team...Nor is there an ''I'' in group, gang, crew, squad, club, band, party, crowd, cluster, troop, or set.
-
Nope, not yoshi's Cookie (at least as far as I know).
Anyone else?
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
Yoshi's Island?
-
Right! The answer is: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island!
Hey, anyone just want to forget the scoring system?
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
Super Mario RPG is 2D. It just tricks you into thinking it's 3D.
'course, the same could be said of all 3D games.
The universe is permeated with the odor of turpentine.
-
I dunno...
"Zaxxon 3D" did a pretty convincing job of being 3-dimensional...
Go Moon!
-
Next: These were the first games in the mario series that involved sports playing.
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
These? Do the NES games featuring but not starring Mario count?
There is no ''I'' in team...Nor is there an ''I'' in group, gang, crew, squad, club, band, party, crowd, cluster, troop, or set.
-
All games are 3D if the tv screen bulges slightly outwards in a dome-type fasion, as is the norm with many television sets.
Let me away from this boulder!
-
I don't know about "these," but I remember loving Mario Tennis for the short-lived Virtual Boy system.
-
Mario Tennis is one of them, and the other is Mario Golf!
Next question: Mario's very first adventure.
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
Uuuuuuuhhhh...........Mario VS. Donkey Kong?
-
No, but close! Anyone else?
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
Just plain Donkey Kong?
There is no ''I'' in team...Nor is there an ''I'' in group, gang, crew, squad, club, band, party, crowd, cluster, troop, or set.
-
That seems too easy...
Hmm... Mario's very first game was Donkey Kong, but I don't that is counted as an adventure since Mario just wanted to kick some Kong-butt because the Kong took his girl...
I think it might be Super Mario Bro.s, because that was an adventure...
I am a pure Super Mario lover!!
...and in no point in the future will he ever be abandonded by me!
I will even drawn the best Super Mario comics ever to exist!!
-
What do you mean, Donkey Kong wasn't the first mario game?
Next question is: This was the 2nd mario RPG.
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
[being sarcastic]
Ooh! Uh... This is a toughy!
Hmmm...
Wait! Wait! I know it! I know I do!
Could it be...
Paper Mario!?
I am a pure Super Mario lover!!
...and in no point in the future will he ever be abandonded by me!
I will even drawn the best Super Mario comics ever to exist!!
-
Too easy? Sorry.
This game has a series of 6 games.
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
SMW2? Dont get mad if im wrong
-
I dunno my Mario games very well...
--------------------
Pokemon Jirachi wishmaker! One of the greatest Pokemon movies ever! But the short (Pokemon Gotta Dance) was stupid...
-
Um, Super Mario Land?
Because: Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2, Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land, Wario Land 2, Wario Land 3, Wario Land 4
???
“I’m a stupid fatty and I love to play with my Easy Bake oven.â€
-
Not the game I have in mind. Another hint: the series carried over to the nintendo Gamecube.
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
Don't tell me you're talking about the Mario Party series!
I am a pure Super Mario lover!!
...and in no point in the future will he ever be abandonded by me!
I will even drawn the best Super Mario comics ever to exist!!
-
But Mario Party only has 5 games! Hmm... Super Mario Land was a good guess.
~6 1/2 minutes later~
Aug! I've been sitting here for like 6 1/2 minutes thinking! I can't get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-----------------------------
Has anyone her ever wondered why we kill each other over arguments about games? Well, I geuss it is Mario, so it''s OK!
-
It WAS Mario Party. Don't forget Mario Party 6 coming up.
I'd say, this next one is two games where Luigi was featured as the hero. One is old, one is older.
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
Luigi's Mansion
...and...
Mario is Missing.
and forget about Zaxxon 3d, Posiedon Wars 3d is where it's at!
Go Moon!
-
Wow, how come I'm not surprised?
Anyway, Name the game that came out not too long ago. Something about a grudge.
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
Mario vs. Donkey Kong.

Hey, you try taking this thing over! (Seriously, last person who posted!) Anyway, my last question before I let Hope take over, assuming he wants to, of course.
Mario has fused with the N-force!

Hey, you try taking this thing over! (Seriously, last person who posted!) Anyway, my last question before I let Hope take over, assuming he wants to, of course.
Mario has fused with the N-force!
-
Ooh, ooh! Can I make a question? This is a first go, so it might not be the best.
Who was the third boss on Paper Mario? Name all.
-----------------------------
Has anyone her ever wondered why we kill each other over arguments about games? Well, I geuss it is Mario, so it''s OK!
-
Well, first you battle Tubba Blubba's heart, then you go outside and battle Tubba Blubba! 'Nuff said. (I may not know my Mario games very well but the few I have, I know them by HEART.)
What is Petey Pirahna and King Boo's special item in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!?
--------------------
Pokemon Jirachi wishmaker! One of the greatest Pokemon movies ever! But the short (Pokemon Gotta Dance) was stupid...
-
Well you can battle Tubba Blubba before his heart, but he is invincible.... Petey and King Boo get a random special item, though.
Let me away from this boulder!
-
Actually, giftedgirl, you're wrong. Tubba Blubba (his heart) is the FOURTH boss. Tutankoopa and his chain-chomp gang are the third
BECAUSE
1. King Goomba
2. Koopa Bros.
3. Tutankoopa
4. Tubba Blubba/Heart
etc. etc.
-----------------------------
Has anyone her ever wondered why we kill each other over arguments about games? Well, I geuss it is Mario, so it''s OK!
-
Well, "boss" gets difficult to define after a while.
Is Bowser, from the beginnig, a boss?
Are the Goomba Bros. a boss?
Do any of Jr. Troopa's fights count?
Go Moon!
-
Here's how I define it:
Bowser, Goomba Bros. & Jr. Troopa are SUB-BOSSES
Each chapter (including the prolouge) include a boss.
Prolouge: King Goomba
Chap. 1: Koopa Bros.
Chap. 2: Tutankoopa
Chap. 3: Tubba Blubba
Chap. 4: General Guy
Chap. 5: Lava Pirahna
Chap. 6: Huff 'n' Puff
Chap. 7: Crystal King
Chap. 8: Bowser!
I just consider King Goomba a boss because Bowser turned him into a king using the star rod. All of the bosses where transformed somehow by Bowser and the star rod, like Tubba Blubba become invincible.
-----------------------------
Has anyone her ever wondered why we kill each other over arguments about games? Well, I geuss it is Mario, so it''s OK!
-
I thought this thread is about questions that relate to naming the Super Mario games, not giving out general Super Mario quizzes...
Like for example:
What is the name of the game where Mario himself is the bad guy?
I am a pure Super Mario lover!!
...and in no point in the future will he ever be abandonded by me!
I will even drawn the best Super Mario comics ever to exist!!
-
Donkey Kong Jr.
What is the only Mario game where Koopa Troopas blow up after being jumped on?
Edited by - CashCrazed on 6/20/2004 11:13:20 AM
-
Super Mario Land.
And what a strange game that was...
Okay, I've asked this one before; but let's see if anyone remembers/knows it:
In what non-RPG Mario game do enemy boos not hide, freeze, or shy away when Mario looks them in the face?
Go Moon!
-
Luigi's Mansion? They kind of hide...
Yoshi's Island!
That's probably not what you were thinking of, but just in case:
What Mario game involves destruction
-----------------------------
Has anyone her ever wondered why we kill each other over arguments about games? Well, I geuss it is Mario, so it''s OK!
Edited by - gamemaster79 on 6/20/2004 4:52:58 PM

Which Mario game doesn't?
Don''t you just hate puns? They''re not punny at all.
-
OK, let me rephrase that:
Which Mario-related game involves LITERALLY destruction and explosion.
-----------------------------
Hi, little birdy way up in the sky, what is that in my eye? Looks like white and tastes like sap, OH MY GOSH, IT''S BIRDY CRAP!
-
Actually, Yoshi's Island is EXACTLY the game I was thinking of!
Way to go!
Go Moon!
-
I am going to hazard a guess that the game gamemaster79 is going on about is Wrecking Crew for the NES.

I kind of thought that one would be a little bit obvious.
NEXT QUESTION!
How many games has Wario stared in and name them.
------------------------------
Hmm... I CAN''T THINK OF A SIGNATURE
-
Two: Nintendo All Stars' Staring Contest and Ogle Battle 64 featuring Wario.

No. Just his normal adventure games, no party games. The party games include the Mario Party series and the Mario Kart series.

...Does Mario & Wario count...?
Go Moon!
-
Yes.

Here's a question, and it's real tricky:
In which game do you find the slowest means of gaining coins and being rich?
(Tell me what is that means?)

Game: Super Mario Sunshine
Level: Pinna Park (the amusement park level, haven't played the game for a while so I don't 'member the name)
Means: On the beach area (outside the amusement park) spray the sand and coins will pop out of it.

I'll do one!
What Mario game takes place entirely on an island?
--------------------
JRC Quote 1: "Team Rocket are the kind of people you love to hate."
-
Yoshi's Island!
...What? It does!
Go Moon!
-
*slaps forhead* Darnit... I forgot about that one... I meant Super Mario Sunshine.

No.

In answer to gamesmaster79's wario question I am guessing that wario has starred in 7 games
Mario & Wario
Wario Land 1,2,3 and 4
Wario World
Wario Ware
If you are in a car travelling at the speed of light, what happens when you turn on the headlights?
-
In which Mario game did you hafta beat bosses to progress through the game? (this is TOO easy!)
--------------------
JRC Quote 2: "Fluffernut wants a BITE of conversation." -me when Fluffernut tried to eat the phone
-
SMB, SMB2, SMB3, SMW, SMW2, SMRPG, SM64, SMS, LM, to name just a few.
The universe is permeated with the odor of turpentine.
-
I dunno.. in a few of those, you can progress through much of the game with only needing to beat a small percentage of the bosses.
That'd be... SMB, SMB2, SMB3, and SMW.
But then, you still have to beat SOME bosses... hmm...
Go Moon!
-
Wrong answer to my question, gamemaster79...
Well, the question has become old now, so the right answer was Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and the means was the 'magic' machine in Hoohoo Village where Mario had to spit water into its fan to generate coins, and sometimes regular Mushrooms...
The process was really quite slow, and it does not make you rich any quicker...

I got the answer to tom ato's question! Tetris & Dr. Mario!
-
Ooh, a Mario quiz message board! I love those! Mind if I join you? *ignores the simultaneous shaking of heads and sits down anyway* Alright, here's an easy question for y'all: which Mario game has a boss from Super Mario 64 but you don't fight again?
"Kids, don''t use formula one race cars to chase hedgehogs."
-
I'm not sure I quite get the question...
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour had King Bob-Omb. Is that it?
Go Moon!
-
He did? D'oh! I knew I should have rented that game! Anyway, yes the answer was King Bob-omb but it was in Mario Party 5 (boss that appears twice). Bad question. Okay, uh... I'll think of one later. Sorry to waste your time.
"Kids, don''t use formula one race cars to chase hedgehogs."
-
How 'bout this one:
What was the first game to feature Mario's turnaround jump?
Go Moon!
-
Super Mario World, I think.
Everything is as smooth as sandpaper pajamas.
-
Turnaround jump? You mean sidewise jump? I say Super Mario 64! Final answer! I'm probably wrong but it's still my final answer!
"Kids, don''t use formula one race cars to chase hedgehogs."
-
*Eh-eeenngh!*
(Bad buzzer noise.)
Another game came before Mario 64 that used the turnaround jump.
Think... a little less mainstream.
Go Moon!
-
Gazunetite. It's less mainstream, you say? Hmmmm... is it on GameBoy? Is it Mario Land 2: Six Gold Coins? You know, with the bunny ears power? Am I right, am I right?! *crosses fingers and toes and eyes, preparing for buzzer sound*

You're on the right track, though. Sort of.
Go Moon!
-
Elvin Gadd, I think I've got it! Mario's first game to include his turnaround jump was none other than the one... the only... Donkey Kong! On the first level you could run to the end of a ramp, jump into the side of the screen, hit an invisible wall, and bounce back (and then hit a barrel and die). I'm almost positive that's right!
"Kids, don''t use formula one race cars to chase hedgehogs."
-
Really?
*Goes and tries it*
Go Moon!
-
Really? What do you mean 'really'? You mean I'm wrong?! NOOOOOO!!!!
"Kids, don''t use formula one race cars to chase hedgehogs."
-
Yeh... unfortunately I can't quite count that as a turnaround jump.
But you're so close in such an obscure way...
Go Moon!
-
Man, that stinks. I thought for sure that was it. Oh well, I'll keep thinking. Hey, look, it's the 100th post! That means I automatically get 50 points! I win!!!
"Kids, don''t use formula one race cars to chase hedgehogs."

Ahem, the answer is Donkey Kong. . . for GB. Fun game, indeed. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be excused.

Yes, the answer is, indeed, Donkey Kong! ...for gameboy.
Ol' GB DK, Donkey Kong '94. I only played it for the first time last week.
*Ahem* anyway, you see how close you were, Yoshisaurus. Now we need another question...
Go Moon!
-
What's the one Mario game where Bowser uses the word "yo" when telling Mario something?
Everything is as smooth as sandpaper pajamas.
-
I'll venture a guess and say Super Mario RPG.
Or Paper Mario, but I say SMRPG.
-
No, Chupperson, you couldn't be more wrong! Shame on you! No, I'm just kidding, but that's not the correct answer.
Everything is as smooth as sandpaper pajamas.
-
AAAAGGGHHHH!!!! DK for GB? You didn't give me any points for being close? I... hate... y-- uh, ukalaylees. Ugh, oh well, at lease I still got 50 points for the 100th post. But, which game does Bowser first say Yo? I thought for sure it was SMRPG. Oh wait, that Geno when he says "Yo Smith!" Well my guess will be one of the Mario Partys. I choose the fifth one. *eh-eehhhhh! aooga! honk-honk! burp!* (my bad buzzer sound)
"Kids, don''t use formula one race cars to chase hedgehogs."
-
No. (Hint: It's written in a letter)
Everything is as smooth as sandpaper pajamas.
-
That would make it.. Super Mario Bros. 3, then?
Go Moon!
-
It's written in a letter? Hmm... Super Mario Bros. 3! Yeah, yeah, yeah! Actually, I'm just copying Fifth about the answer. I don't know.
But in the meantime here is two questions:
1. What was the first T-rated game Mario starred in and...
2. What was the first Mario game to recieve an ESRB rating (hint: it was the first game to get an ESRB rating)
------------------------------
As an answer to Meowrik''s sig: After the McChefs tear off all of the loose meat that we normally eat, they scrape the leftover meat on the bones off and into the breading. My Bro told me (he worked there) and Chup says that he''s probably right.
-
Yes it was SMB3, and SSBM was the first Mario game to get a T-rating.
Everything is as smooth as sandpaper pajamas.
-
first game to have luigi as the main character. not luigi's mansion.

I am sooo making a fool out of myself but I should correct some info.
"This game was very popular, considering it was Yoshi's 2nd game."-answer "yoshi's island"...the real answer is Yoshi.
Yoshi's first game was SMW (they still did NES games after SNES)
"These were the first games in the mario series that involved sports playing." real answer is just plain "Golf' (unless prooven wrong)
Mario's first adventure was YI
Super Mario Land:There are no koopa troopas in it. There are NOKOBONS
Yoshi's Island:Actually, boos do hide (more of a peek a boo if you call it hiding)
not mario related:I could be wrong-but wasn't the first ESRB rated game Mortal Kombat?
And for the last question-Bosses are Hermie The 3rd and Popple. The others you just earn without combat with an enemy (I think)
Any other questions? No?
Here's my own question, which Mario game had an item inspired by Alice In Wonderland.
In interest of fairness I am thinking of a certain game but if there are any others please tell.
If I do not come back check if I am dead by emailing me at NNY273000@yahoo.com
Happy gaming (and pray that DDR featuring Mario will be actually good)

That would be the super mushroom of Super Mario Bros. fame, no?
And don't forget about saving Prince Peasley from that piranha plant in Mario & Luigi.
...Aaaand, the ghosts in Yoshi's Island DO hide, yes... but not from Mario (the key to the question.) They're sneaking up on Yoshi; who cares if the baby sees 'em?
Go Moon!
-
Ahh, thanks for the added info, yes it's SMB.
Next question if no one minds if I do it.
This I shall warn you will seem very very very ridiculous and unbelievable. I will expect that. And I will also expect that very little will know the answer, But here it goes.
Which Mario game features in a part of the game a black and white painting showing a half naked Cleopatra (as in well y'know that famous Egyptian queen).
God, I hope I am not the only one who knows this.
