On today, September 19, 2013, Hiroshi Yamauchi, former President of Nintendo, has passed away at the age of 85 due to pneumonia. R.I.P to a very significant man in Nintendo's history who helped form the company into what it is today.

The guy did pretty well for himself, eh?

Truly a profound loss... we owe the man our childhoods!
-
There goes one of the slickest businessmen who ever lived. ;(
-
good bye and sweet dreams, thanks for everything my friend.

Even [adult swim] paid tribute to him. Good bye, Mr. Yamauchi ;_;

Really late on this but I felt the need to comment anyway; the man basically made Nintendo what it is today and I wouldn't have had such a pleasant childhood without him. The stereotype goes that businessmen are greedy misers, but in reality some are visionaries and innovators who want to make the world a better place with their product. Thank you for everything and rest in peace Mr. Hiroshi Yamauchi.

Or lack thereof

Hey man, if you couldn't attract even a small group of friends with a Nintendo 64, that's your fault.

He was truly an influence, and I wish I had known literally anything about the man before he died. Unfortunately, I learned essentially everything about him through obituaries.
