Mario Chat / Which characters do you admire?
« on: May 17, 2001, 08:45:40 PM »
I got the inspiration for this off some psycho site where people put up which animated TV characters they adore, or in their case, love to death.

Anyway, put your embarrassment aside and list the characters you like the most. Putting Nintendo characters would help since not all of us have seen Tenchi Muyo.

It would also help if you put your reasons why you like the characters. But being as I don't have time right now, I'll just list my favorites.

Yoshi
All Koopas (namely Kooper)
Fara Phoenix
Falco Lombardi
Jonathan Jones (the shark boss from SMRPG)
Wario
Prince Froggy (from Tetris Attack)
Bowser
Lemmy Koopa, Ludwig Koopa
Ruto (from Zelda: Ocarina of Time)
That windmill guy in Ocarina of Time, because he's a psycho

Those are all the characters I can think of at the moment.

Peaceful penguins, demented dragons and growling griffins, oh my.

Video Game Chat / If you could be any character...

Okay, what Nintendo character would you be?

I would be Yoshi, mostly because of his reputation of being a gentle, peace-loving creature. Yes, I'm that kind of person, er, animal, uh, whatever.

Mario Chat / Post your signature!
« on: May 15, 2001, 10:39:57 PM »
Yes, I know. A mindless subject, just like with the Mario Word Association. But who knows, it might turn out popular.

Post your signature, or the most creative signature you can think of. I encourage everybody to do so. Then maybe we can determine which one is the best.

I'll start with a few of my creative sigs:

It's hard to save the world when you're a penguin in wizard clothing.

Penguin is what penguin does.

Mary Kate & Ashley Is Missing DA BOMB!

Thousands of years from now... you won't be here.

Superman 64 is popular. It's enjoyed by all the stupid people out there.

Ok, now it's your turn! Post as many signatures as you want.

And look, I'll post my original sig again:

It''s hard to save the world when you''re a penguin in wizard clothing.

Mario Chat / Hacker On The Loose
« on: May 14, 2001, 07:50:48 PM »
Yes, there's a hacker among us. He goes by the name Disgruntled Mario Fan or BlueDeamon.

His site is below:

http://tbd.yi.org/

Since he has a site, justice can be served by having someone hack his site. He deserves it, due to these following reasons:

1. He HACKED Bowser's Castle.
2. He hacked VideoGamerX's site, which is one of the BEST Zelda websites on the net.
3. He put an entry in my guestbook, threatening to hack my website!

My website is listed below, although right now I transformed it to a temporary warning page:

http://penguinwizard.tripod.com/default.htm

We have to get rid of this menace, and fast. He has caused enough trouble as it is. He even has a poll on his website about what will happen if he gets caught, where 58% voted Nothing. So let's make him pay!

Mario Chat / New Features at OpusPocus
« on: May 09, 2001, 10:18:42 PM »
I now have a chat room and a forums section, as well as a new poll and some other thing that tells you when I'm online or not.

If I'm online, then you could use it so we can instantly chat. I think it's a good feature, at least.

These new features should make my site better in terms of getting to know the visitors better and helping to spread the word about my site.

So you might want to check it out. And if you're reading this at 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM, of any day, I'm probably online right now.

So be sure to give my site a visit, and me as well.

Mario Chat / Proof that female Yoshies exist
« on: May 03, 2001, 09:18:21 PM »
And I'm not talking about Yoshi fan art...

All this time most of us probably thought that all Yoshies were of one gender (male). Others think all Yoshies are part male and part female. But as we know from YI, any Yoshi can lay eggs and throw them.

Anyway, I looked in some Nintendo related stuff and found proof that there isn't one type of Yoshi. I find this odd, since this point kind of goes into what the video games don't cover, and Nintendo has a bad reputation of answering any of these questions with answers that make no sense.

So it's strange how Nintendo somehow answered it for us.

BTW, note how it's actually correct to say Yoshies instead of Yoshis.

My strongest proof that male and female Yoshies exist comes from this statement in the Yoshi's Island Player's Guide:

"Hence the Yoshies decide to use a relay system, figuring that the baby would be best protected by a Yoshi most familiar with the area he or she was crossing."

He or she. That's undeniable proof, even if the guide gets a little goofy with the prelude.

I also noticed how in Yoshi's Story, the Pink Yoshi has the highest pitch voice of all the normal Yoshies. Now that can't be of coincedence.

And my last proof, although this one is questionable, is that in Yoshi's Tropical Island in Mario Party, there's a Blue Yoshi and a Pink Yoshi. Those are odd colors to choose, since they represent boy and girl colors. And if you look closely during the end sequence, there's a difference between the appearance of both the Blue Yoshi and the Pink Yoshi. I can't tell if I'm seeing things, but it looks like the Pink Yoshi has eyelashes. I'll be sure to double-check on that.

Also note how the Pink Yoshi on that game board in Mario Party looks like it has hair or something when you're playing on the board. I still can't tell what it is, but it looks like purple hair.

So tell me what you think, if you think that I have finally solved this issue, or if you have any info that goes against it.

May Yoshi live long and prosper...
Oh, and may PenguinWizard have the same treatment.
