Hey Deezer! So I see that your favorite Koopaling is Lemmy too! That's good!

But what do you think about Ludwig? Try downloading the "Oh, Brother" movie from DSMS (found in my 'Slinx' page under Mario Cartoons at http://penguinwizard.tripod.com/links.htm) if you're unsure.

Mario Chat / Re: Can Mario survive? And Nintendo for that matter?

Well Bowsa, I don't know what will happen (all I know is that E3 is tomorrow! Woo-hoo!), but I think that the consoles will prosper and it will be a Renaissance.

However, keep in mind that for each generation of gaming, the prices for the games and consoles keep going up. $400 is way too much for a console, which is PS2's asking price. In the next decade or so, it might rise to $700!

So when the prices get unbearable, even for the lowest-priced system (currently Nintendo, thank goodness), that is when we will see a market crash.

btw, did you know the 3D0, back in the day of the Sega Saturn I believe, was priced at $700? No kidding! I heard it off somewhere.
To make things even worse, none of the games were good. The better console was something like $200 or $250. Talk about a landslide!

The 3D0 was Atari's last stand in the console market, and not hard to see why, probably because they planned for it to be the ultimate console at an unheard-of price.

You said it, Mega 2.

Now if I could understand what you said...

This again asks the question of just what Yoshi is. I think it's now safe to assume that Yoshi is a cross between a dinosaur and a frog, since he has the appearance of a dinosaur and features of a frog.

As for why Princess isn't a mushroom person, it's pretty easy to see why. In the first SMB, don't you think it would be weird for Mario to be rescuing a mushroom?
Of course, it had to be a Princess. And since "damsels" (and heroes) tend to come from strange places, this kind of thing happens often. So there is no reason why Princess should be a mushroom person.

Yeah, the gender-bending thing sounds a little complex to make it into any of Nintendo's games, since they usually don't plan out life stories for their enemies and bosses (as for main characters and heroes, just look at Mario: no effort for a life story).

But then again, how could Birdo have been male in SMB2? That wouldn't explain how she's able to shoot eggs from her "proboscis" (in other words, her big beak of a nose). Then again, Japan is known for releasing the weirdest things, like Pokemon and the roots of Hyakugojyuuichi (it won #1 in some Ultimate Time Waster contest, and is #1 on my list for Stupidest Use Of Media), so that's entirely possible.

And think about it. Both Yoshi and Birdo are dinosaurs (or at least they look similar). I also heard somewhere where in tennis matches, doubles teams always consist of one male and one female for each side. Of course, since Nintendo has been neglecting female characters lately (save for the Zelda series), they had to break that rule with Mario Tennis. Oh, but they found room to make Birdo partners with Yoshi, huh?

I even heard a little article on this in a Nintendo magazine, where when it came to trying to pick female teammates for Wario and Waluigi, which never happened, one of the guys joked, "We don't want to see their girlfriends." But of course Birdo and Yoshi became partners.

That's a weird carica...whatever of you, Deezer. But it's something I can accept and try to envision you as.

I know I've seen more of those weird pictures around the site, but so far I've seen yours and some other picture. Without revealing the secret page or anything, maybe you can tell me where the other pictures are.

By the way, GREAT new design Deezer.

Looks like everybody has an active imagination.

Anyway, a little off topic here, but it looks like something's going on between Yoshi and Birdo in Mario Tennis. First, they are both teammates (and we know that Birdo is obviously female). Second, just look at those two on the title screen. Looks a little suspicious to me.

We know that this romance thing has been hinted at in the past (like Mario and Princess, which at this rate will never become true romance), but it really looks like Yoshi should be getting some sort of girlfriend real soon.

Probably the only reason Nintendo hasn't gone to that length is because there doesn't seem to be any way it could fit into any game. But there's always a possibility.

Huh, how about that. This topic has become popular. Guess I found a good topic to start out with.

Call me crazy if you want (which means you'll be getting on my back too, Marionut), but usually I picture these guys on the Mario boards by how their screennames look. Of course, I know it isn't real, but that's the way I look at things.

For example, I picture Goomba Platinum as, what else, a Goomba. And I picture ParaTroppaCaption as a peaceful Parakoopa. Since I like Koopa Troopas, I see him as one of those friendly message board people.

As for Deezer, well, I don't know what he would look like. Maybe his name should be Dozer (no offense, but I think it's a good joke).

Mario Chat / Re: CALLING ALL FANFIC WRITERS!
« on: May 14, 2001, 03:09:43 PM »
Roy Koopa, currently 100 pages is INSANE.
Either cut down the font size, divide it into parts like the never-to-be-finished Star Wars saga, or do something so you won't end up getting a Guiness Record for longest story.
(don't take it personally, I was just ranting there)

I would have posted something here earlier, but the Fungi Forums weren't working for me. So now it might be a little painful to hear this, but I just can't stand fan fiction. Like that one guy said, it's especially irritating when lame new characters come into the mix (I can't tell you how many Lemmy's Land fanfics I could have read if it weren't for Susan this and Nick that).

The only exception is that one time when I decided to get over it at least once, when I came upon a fan fiction on Star Fox. I remember it all too well (because I actually read it), and it took HOURS.
I also had an incident where I read a three-part Tiny Toons fan fiction, but I still stand that I hate fan fiction.

And on another unrelated note, I saw Princess Peach's website, and it says she likes horses. At least that's one thing we have in common, but nothing else.

I don't know of any sheet music for SMB, but try downloading a SMB midi as well as a program called Anvil Studio. Then open up the SMB midi in that program, and look over the different notes featured in the song for each instrument used in the midi.

Because I've recently downloaded another video at DSMS, now my favorite Koopalings in order from who I like the most (Lemmy) to who I like the least (Wendy) is as follows:

1. Lemmy
2. Ludwig
3. Morton Jr. (really tough to decide there)
4. Roy
5. Larry
6. Iggy
7. Wendy

Also, I've been hearing rumors that Fara is in a Star Fox anime show. If that is true, and you have any proof (or rather, any media of Fara that doesn't come from the comics), please tell me about it!
I may hate anime, but I'll give an exception to a Star Fox show any day.

Actually, even if they don't look female, be sure to tell me about the websites that have the Yoshi art that you're searching at.

Because I have a thing for Yoshies, I'm not going to pass up any art.

Just don't try looking at Luna's Yoshi Sanctuary or anything, because they obviously have female Yoshi pictures, and that's not what I'm looking for. I'm more in the way of looking for official pictures that look female.

A good place to start is just look for any Pink or White Yoshi pictures.

It's nice to hear of an original screenname like Goomba Platinum for once.

And if Ryan is your name, I suggest changing your signature thing (unless that isn't it) to something else, like ''Haha! Mario can't beat me now, for I am Goomba Platinum!''

Anyway, I understand the point you're trying to get across (sort of), and I won't flame you, but when it comes to games and consoles, it's what the gamers think. They are the ones that will be buying the products, so it's up to them that will decide if someone gets attention or not.

We all know Mario gets attention. Both from Nintendo, and from gamers. For Luigi, it's different, but Luigi is very popular as well. After all, he's been overshadowed by Mario for years (Smash Bros. said he was the Eternal Understudy), so many people await his next appearance. Mario has all the attention he needs.

Just be thankful you're not posting something about trying to give attention to Pit from Kid Icarus. Almost nobody gave him attention ;-)
