If that was true, I'd love to shove that in Nintendo's face and have them give a respectable answer instead of their usual "Shy Guy uses velcro" excuses.

I remember one person writing in to Nintendo Power that had a topic on Yoshi. I forget what the topic was about, I think it had something to do with Yoshi being abused by Mario constantly hitting his head to make him lash out his tongue in Super Mario World (at least, that's what it looked like to him).

But Nintendo replied with the stupid response of something along the lines of Editor Note: Yoshi ate the letter.

Now that's a pathetic excuse for one of the most popular companies around, if not the most popular. Well, ok, so IGN used to be even more pathetic, but only because the Matt Cassamina and GameCube Masta jokes were funny.

Couldn't resist, could you Bowser Boy?

Anyway, the link is not correct. This is the correct address:

http://www.toiletduk.net/multimedia/pika.swf

it's pika.swf, not pike.swf

Like I said, you have not seen everything there is to see on Earth until you've seen this nightmare. This is the stupidest (and funniest) use of media I've ever seen, so it's worth checking out.

Note to fragile people: there's some offensive stuff in the movie, like a hand holding up its middle finger. but there isn't too much offensive stuff in it, so you should be able to handle it.

Tenchi, if there are any Yoshies in Paper Mario that look different from the rest (i.e. like that female Koopaling with the thing on her head), try to find a way so I can see a screenshot of it.

There's just something about seeing Yoshies look different from normal that I just can't bear to miss, probably because it would signal that Nintendo is trying something new with the species (like with the Goombas).

Not bright for a penguin to forget posting their website address, now is it?

Here it is:

You can rip sfx from ZSNES if you capture the SPC file just as the sound file is playing, but that's tedious. I have this other program that I assume can capture the sound.

It's called TotalRecorder. It's free, and you can find it off the Internet somewhere.

Once you download this special program, just get your Mario RPG rom near the point where you're about to do the Frying Pan whack (make it a double-hit). Then, before you resume your game, make it so TotalRecorder will start recording.

TotalRecorder records all sounds and music coming from your computer. So it should work.

Do it quick, because in the unregistered version there's a 40-second recording limit.

Once you've recorded the sound and saved it, you can edit the sound in Sound Recorder or wherever, then you could try compressing it in Sound Recorder by saving it in MPEG-3 Layer format (it will still run in Windows Media Player).

Because I can't seem to download the ROM, it would be appreciated if someone else did. I'll keep helping daFunkster until we both manage to get that sound.

Trust me Iggy, SMB is cheesy. It's almost nothing like the NES version.

But I'd do anything to find out what Mario's Cement Factory is like.

Sorry, but I'm having a hard time getting the ROM. I know a few sites that have it, but it can never find the file. So it will be a while before I get the ROM. But once I find it, getting the Frying Pan sound should be a piece of cake (referring to the Peach letter in Super Mario 64, ha ha).

You're in luck, aznaphrodite. Although you can't get the sound off the web normally, I can try to get the sound using a ROM of the game instead. All I want you to do is to not rewrite your script, but wait until I have the sound effect. It might take two or three days to get it, but I'll get it.

Okay, results are in.

Yes, I was wrong. The pink yoshi does not have hair (it was just the lighting), and the pink yoshi does not have eyelashes (it was just that the eye line was thick to make it look like it).

but still, don't you think it's suspicious how in Yoshi's Tropical Island in Mario Party, there's a blue yoshi and a pink yoshi? some odd colors to choose, developers of Mario Party!

yeah, i kind of figured female yoshies existed. but you can't really tell them apart in any way, and it doesn't seem to be much of an issue.

It's hard to determine what gender a Yoshi would be because they all look the same save for color. And as we know, color doesn't really determine what gender a Yoshi is.

Because I have not got up to the Yoshi island in Paper Mario yet (i don't even own it right now), I wouldn't really know. And I bet all the Yoshi sounds do sound the same.

However, even although Nintendo makes typos (a lot of them for a professional company), they have been suspicious lately. Besides keeping quiet with the GameCube. They always slip in little mystery things here and there, and I think that there's more to it than just coincedences.

As for the hermaphrodite thing, that idea seems very possible. And they have both male and female characteristics (male for the voice, female for the egg laying thing). But the idea that there could be two genders have been hinted at in one way or another a few times.

Anyway, I'm going to start a Mario Party game, set everybody to computer (even at Hard they're losers), then wait an hour for the results. I'll tell you what I end up seeing once it finishes.

I never doubted the idea either, but a few years back, I met some website based on the then-upcoming Yoshi's Story where the guy asked if there were female Yoshies out there. I know that there's a few other sites that have been debating over this, thinking Yoshi is half and half, and one site thought Yoshies only had one gender.

I'll be sure to reply back as soon as I finish that Yoshi's Tropical Island board on Mario Party sometime later today.

Koopa King, you're not alone. I tried getting the site builder on Tripod to work, and it never loaded up!

If you have a word processor that supports web page templates (like Word 2000), you can just use that. Once you save your html or htm files, you can upload those to your account. That way it's easy to make a webpage without the site builder since you would already know how to work a word processor.

I did all my pages on OpusPocus using Word 2000.

Ok, Bowser Boy, I signed your application.

I'm willing to send in Bowser pics if you need them, offer suggestions, and remember that anyone can use the Mario Cartoon pics and sounds on my site for their own use. Because I'm not going to claim rights for them.

But even if you somehow reject the application, I'm probably going to end up sending some Bowser pic to you in a week or so anyway.

Bowser Boy, what does ETA mean?

I know I've heard it elsewhere, but I don't know what it means.

Oh, and good luck finding a good message board. Actually, Tripod's message board is even worse. If you can find any good message board or chat room, be sure to tell me right away where I can find it.

Because I'm thinking about adding those things to my site, but I can't do it when I don't know of good places to find them. Maybe I should search on Angelfire or Geocities even...

Nice site!

I notice how the design of it is a lot different than other sites. That's a big plus. There's also a few things there I wish I knew how to do. Like having the counter in the upper right corner without anything like BeSeen below it.

That pic of the super koopa flying backwards is good too. I still don't know how it can "follow" you when you scroll down the page, though. Is there a Geocities site builder thing that offers that option? Does that explain it?

I really think that you should put a guestbook on your site though. It's a good start to get feedback about your site.

You might want to check out htmlGear (I think the web address is http://lycos.htmlgear.com/). It's a free service that I believe is available for use on any website, and it includes free guestbooks, polls, and more. The only problem is that when you put them on your site, you'll see htmlGear buttons. You can get rid of them, no harm done in doing that, but htmlGear claims that you'll help keep their service free by showing their button.

Good luck with your site. I'll be sure to add it to my "Slinx" section (the links page) over at OpusPocus at:

http://penguinwizard.tripod.com/default.htm

How about that, you'll already be linked to from someone.
