Super Toad World

In this game you play as toad out to save Mario from no end of trouble. The second player will of course be Wooster, and it will follow the style of Joe & Mac, where both players are on the screen simultaneously.

Yeah it would be cool to control Toad again as a REAL playable character. The plot, of course, would be very weak.

We should all follow Mario's lead and ditch the plumbing business in favor of adventurous lives in a land full of mushrooms.

The mountain lion was taken aback by the sudden onslaught of bowling balls and quickly exited the premises.

Hey CW!

This is going to seem somewhat cliche, but Super Mario RPG will have to take first. That game a masterpiece.

After that, it's Yoshi's Island.

ok, I agree with CW. This is getting ridiculous, and it's just turning into a large array of pointless arguments. I think I'm going to call it quits. Screech doesn't even seem to really be participating any more. As far as I'm concerned, this topic is dead.

It was fun while it lasted

Ok i agree to that. I will restart with nobody but good old taffy and blob... wait on second thought I'll use Bad Mister Frosty and Bonker. I'm still Faramir though. I'm ready for a real fight without too much farfetched immortality junk. I will be willing to let my characters perish, and choose new ones.

OK, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

I summon Ickybod Clay, the pumpkin headed ghastly clayfighter.

Using his teleportation spell, Icky warps over to Humonculus. Immediately, he casts his possession spell and flies into his mouth, filling his head with thoughts of sorrow and depression. He contorts his thoughts and takes over his brian, thereby rendering him completely unusable. There is no way to control him anymore,  because the bubble of depression that Icky has cast around him is invulnerable, just as Humonculous is.

Humonculus is defeated. His nightmares are our reality.

Okay, Mr. Humoncilous or whatever it is, is quite frankly ruining the game, because he's immortal and can resurrect anybody. What am I supposed to do about that?

Hmm... I may have an idea.

Again, I send Sauron and his nine riders out to slaughter your people, but I bring along the Uruk Hai and the Riders of Rohan.

Being TOTALLY overwhelmed, all your pitiful Konami people die, and before you can resurrect them with your insanely cheap Humoncolous, I resurrect them to the Legions of the Dead with Sauron.

You can't take over other guys can you? If so, that is just stupid. We can't win.

If not, well then forget all your Metal Gear people, because they are now mindless zombies with swords and armor on MY team.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Go research more Konami games. You've been using those Metal Gear people for tooo long.

*********
TO SCREECH
Yeah, I gues you're right that the Clayfighter guys could just die from repeated hits, but they could still do some amazing stuff.
**********
Ok, just for the heck of it, I recall all of my guys. This includes the Riders of Rohan, the Uruk Hai, Kabuto, The Blob, Sauron, The Black Riders, (Taffy is dead) and I guess that's it.

I am now a solo ranger (Faramir), hidden in some forest out of Final Fantasy.

Well dang. I will reincarnate myself as faramir, boromir's brother and use my stealth ability to blend in with my surroundings (you cant see me, OK!?!?).

Next, I dismiss Taffy, just to make things fair since he should have been blown up, and send the Blob after Zidane. Kabuto tramples all the Metal Gear people (just die, OK? You are all getting annoying!) He basically goes on a rampage stomping everywhere.

Now... I summon Sauron who sends Vivi, Steiner and Dagger  flying thirty feet with his mace (or was it a morningstar? i dont remember). After accomplishing this, he summons all nine of the ringwraiths who begin hunting all your annoying konami people down. They all die (hey, mine did). Use some new people. Konami made a lot of games with a lot of characters.

Ok, so I'm hiding. You cant find me. Kabuto is rampaging, the ringwraiths are lingering around you guys, and Sauron is waiting for orders. Go. Hahahahahaha

Mario Chat / Re: MARIO CCG (or TCG... whatever you want to call it)
« on: September 01, 2002, 09:46:28 PM »
Well, yeah of course everyone would want to be Mario, but what would make the game great is bringing out the underdog Mario characters (wooster, bowyer, punchinello, booster, mack, koopa the quick... that one really big bob-omb with the crown in Mario 64). the possibilities go on and on and increase with every Mario game that is released. (thank god for the mariopedia. that will be needed).

And the game would be designed so that some of those characters would be more powerful than Mario, not necessarily in strength but they would have other strengths that would make them a formidable opponent for Mario or even Bowser. Like, for example: Bowyer would have an ability where he could shut down opponents abilities for that turn, or maybe even several turns. He would be somewhat weak in other aspects, but using that ability every turn could shut down his opponent's Magikoopas or his Mushroom Archers. The only downside with Bowyer would be that he has to sacrifice arrows (these would be like his goombas. His 1st level units) every time he uses the ability.

What I'm getting at here is that sure, Mario would be a hot pick among players, but for those who want to do something new, there will be plenty of other powerful characters available.

And don't get me wrong, Pokemon has greatness on some levels. I used to play it actually, and I have a 1st edition charizard hidden away in my card collection. I mainly dislike that there is so much coin-flipping involved.

Ok, I'll get those pictures sent to you eventually. I have to go hepl my dad wth something right now, but I have them scanned in and everything. Gotta go.

Yeah, but it would also have to be good enough for serious Mario fans and gamers to play. Pokemon is just ridiculous! Have you ever played that? Every other card is "Flip a coin, and this attack does that much damage times 10 to the other pokemon." There is no room for strategy in a game like that. The Mario card game should be the kid-appealing thing that is is, but also a fun and well-balanced game that older gamers can enjoy.

I have already made up a couple of cards and drawn them out with stats and everything. If you want to see them (this is to the guy that told me about ccgworkshop) I can email the scanned images to you.

Oh, he probably is Bowser's son. I don't know much about his family relations. Just change whatever needs to be changed in your head. Sorry I dont have time to add anything on right now. I will later if I can.

well, you see, the only problem with all that is that shooting taffy with a puny little missile wouldn't even slightly disable him. And as for the blob, well, stepping on his pieces would be more or less impossible because he couold just regather them before you could do anything about it, then he'd launch you into the air while you were stepping on him, so that didn't work. And what happened to the liquid nitrogen? Did he thaw already? I guess so. In that case, your guys are somewhere in the stratosphere and all my guys are in more or less perfect shape. (Come on, you can do better than that!)

As for myself, When you tried to attack me, I smashed whoever it was that attacked ne in the head with my metal arm. Let's say I got cut on the other arm in the process though so I'm kind of wounded.

Seeing that I might have some trouble keeping these characters alive, I summon (heeheheheheheheh) Kabuto from Giants: Citizen Kabuto, who immediately grabs Alucard (I'm sorry I have to do this, because he's one of my all-time favorite characters) and hurls him hundreds of feet away (I just couldn't eat him. He's too cool).

After this, Taffy fires a barrage of huge gumballs at all those Metal Gear people, who fired that useless missile at him.

The Blob just kinda sits there.

Then, for the heck of it, I summon Samwise Gamgee from Lord of the Rings. (Yes, they made the SNES game of it. This opens many new possibilities for me).

Then, I run off to let someone else do something. I don't want this to turn into one of those childish "Nuh-uh! I shot you five times!" things. Let's keep at least a little realistic, or else it won't be very fun.
