DS is probably the best overall (7 could have rivalled it if it hadn't been rushed for Christmas), but Double Dash will always be my favorite.
Pretty much this, although DS does have an unfortunately hard-to-setup multiplayer experience.

Most of the time I get something that's obviously an extra from someone's breeding session. Level 1, good nature, maybe a 31, maybe the wrong ability. I do that too, but I infect them with Pokérus first.

Speaking of, I finally got myself a 31/31/x/31/31/31 Adamant Starly; if anyone wants one with any four of those perfect IV's, I have about a dozen extras, all of them Adamant.  Man, I love how much easier this is with the Destiny Knot, and I'm certainly looking forward to battling with her once I get her EV's and moveset solidified.

EDIT: Random 31/x/31/31/31/28-30 Ditto catch. :)

Got some FC's on GameFAQs, which randomly happened to include a Friend Safari with Frogadier and one with Ditto.  Time to breed some actually good team members...

Also, apparently my Safari has Lampent, Pumpkaboo, and Drifblim, according to someone on GameFAQs.

I suppose I should post here, now that I've finally gotten a 2DS: 4141-3026-8303.

Just finished the main game and tried out the Friend Safari; the only friend I've added didn't have anything terribly interesting, unfortunately (Klang & Magneton).  Seems like a really neat idea if the FCs result in better distributions, though.

So apparently according to Serebii, you can get Ditto in the Friend Safari.  Just the fact you can get them with two perfect IVs + Synchronized nature should make kick-starting a breeding chain a zillion times easier in general.

Also, I'm still hoping Dedenne can get a special Fairy-type egg move; his typing is pretty good, but Play Rough with a mere base 58 Attack hardly counts as an adequate coverage move.

After it being on the GTS for upwards of 24 hours, I finally got someone to trade me a Yveltal for my lvl. 50 Goodra + Luck Incense + Pokérus.  Awesomeness.  Also, I got my first shiny; a Vanillite in a horde battle.

I haven't heard about being able to pass down a male's hidden ability. Seeing as the Torchic you get can't be female, I doubt it. They want to keep Speed Boost Torchic unique to those who downloaded it.

I'd consider this proof to the contrary.  Although that might have required a Ditto.

Huh, I didn't even know you could reset for a better-natured Torchic.  At least I got +ATK, -DEF on my first try.  Also, I think you can breed hidden abilities down from the male now anyway, so it's a moot point.

My team's shaping up to be a lot like my gen-IV team, although my Pancham & Honedge have yet to quite catch up with the rest of my team in level, if not usefulness.  Also, X &Y's item management is amazing; I love being able to move the Amulet Coin around without leaving the Pokémon summary screen!  That, auto-sorting, and the multiple-registered-items system are all amazing.  Then again, if those changes were made in gen-V, I wouldn't know.

^. Also, Chespin's final evo looks pretty satisfying, even if its typing is garbage compared to the other two (especially considering Froakie's evos can apparently learn Aerial Ace and Extrasensory.)  Still not sure whether to pick Chespin or Fennekin.

New Nintendo Direct footage looked pretty dang epic.  I'll post more detailed impressions later...

At the very least, the area themes look considerably more variable than the last seven+ years, and the HD looks fantastic.  Whole thing has more of a DKCR-esque take on Mario (which is just as well, as DKCR2 got delayed to February).

(Bulbapedia EXP. All note) Not sure what to think of this.
(Disregard what I had in my post before.) Seems rather pointless; I never had much issue keeping my team at similar levels.  EXP. Share was better at raising a single low-leveled Pokémon up anyway.

Oh yeah, I suppose that's a thing.  Yeah, I'm doing a Kickstarter for a sequel to "Video Game Variations"; it's pretty similar in form to the original, and the video on the project page explains everything else.  A lot more great Mario, Kirby, and MOTHER tracks on this, so I suggest you check it out, and spread the word about the project if you can!

Divekick's been really popular around my school recently, but since a lot of the devs are alumni, that doesn't surprise me.  I haven't played much myself, but it looks really fun.  You can get a ton of mileage out of two buttons, apparently.

Excited about the SMB2 roster throwback, what looks like fully free player selection, and actual differences between the playable characters (oddly enough, Mario looks to be worse off than the rest).  The cat suit's attacks and abilities actually feel pretty unique; I can't think of any other powerups in the main series that focused around physical combat, and the climbing feature is a nice alternative to "generic flight/jump enhancer powerup" (and since the Tanooki suit's also returning, that's apparently covered anyway).  The clear pipes are an interesting addition as well; it's surprising that's never been done before.  And of course, I'm a sucker for built-in competitive measures, so the score chart at the end of the levels is certainly a plus in my book.  I have to wonder how the respawn-bubble mechanic controls in 3-D; it seems like it would be no less annoying than it was in NSMBWii unless they let the players have more direct control, but I don't know what that would look like in 3-D, either.

Truth be told, I hated what I've played/seen of 3D Land, but this would certainly be a day-1 pickup for me if I had a Wii U of my own, and is certainly more incentive to get one.
