I replaced the image with one that doesn't have a potty word in it (I did not fix any of the copious misspellings, though -- how many points do you subtract if you can't spell?). Readers, beware that if you click on the link to the original image, you might see that potty word!

I question the notion that having a net worth greater than $1,000,000,000 is exactly as much a privilege as being a white Jew.

Social commentary is always fine in my book, but this and its arbitrary assignments of penalty just ticks me off.

Tumblr[dukar] is the worst. This should be called "HOW NORMAL ARE YOU?" Anyways,

White: +25
Male: +25
Straight: +20
Cis (lol @ using that term in a serious context): +20
Canada: +20
Christian: +5
Middle class: +0
Able-bodied: +25
Overweight: -10
Ugly face: -20
Tall: +10
None/Other: +0
Saturday: -15

TOTAL: 105

These values are way out of whack. Being noticeably disfigured warrants at least -100, and being completely deaf is nearly as bad as being blind. Unless you're over 5'10" or so, height isn't much of an issue for a woman.

Male: +25
Gay: -150
Cis: +20
US: +20

Able-bodied: +25
Attractiveness: 0?  My face is simultaneously well proportioned yet my complexion is sub-par...
Size: 0?  I'm only slightly shorter than average...
Profession: 0
Saturday: -15

Total = -30 NON-PRIVILEGED.  I figured my white maleness would have outweighed my sexuality in terms of the societal privileges I receive...

Ah yes, the most abhorrent profession in the world: scientist.

Hated even more than the firemen.

Worse than being unemployed, apparently.

It'd be hilarious if the chart included Amish as a choice in the religion category.

LD put an honest question in my mind: How much do scientists in America actually make on average?

« Reply #17 on: October 21, 2012, 11:14:02 PM »
I think the chart put scientist as unprivileged because there are no scientists (or engineers for that matter) in Congress, so they don't have any say in where federal money is distributed. Neil deGrasse Tyson made this point once.

That and there's a general level of hostility exhibited by average people towards scientists.

And firemen are, of course, considered the scum of society.
