Title: Super Paper Mario Max Stats (May contain spoilers)
Post by: Kimimaru on April 08, 2008, 08:56:08 PM
(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi300.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fnn38%2FKimimaru4000%2FSuperPaperMarioMaxStats.jpg&hash=0a470c1c2861b713047ee900431872ac)

Finally! Look at all those hours! This is what my file looks like. I just got max stats today. If anyone can't see the image, the max stats are 999 HP, and 99 Attack for Mario, Luigi, and Peach, and 198 Attack for Bowser.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi300.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fnn38%2FKimimaru4000%2FSuperPaperMario0HP.jpg&hash=6ddbc6d55cc37abce6e18382747ef2f4)

This is what it looks like when you use an HP Plus when you already have max! Notice the +0.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi300.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fnn38%2FKimimaru4000%2FSuperPaperMario0Attack.jpg&hash=c251a65995939ef5eb5381efbe048121)

You probably already guessed...this is what it looks like when you use an Attack Plus when you already have max! Notice the +0.

If anyone can't see the last 2 pictures, they show how it normally looks when you use an Attack or HP Plus, but instead, it says "+0", and doesn't say that it increased.

Here is my YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-wYmhIGjjA
Sorry for the bad quality.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi300.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fnn38%2FKimimaru4000%2FSuperPaperMarioMaxStats.jpg&hash=0a470c1c2861b713047ee900431872ac)

Here it is, the Max Score! I couldn't put it in the same picture as the max damage, sorry. For those who can't see, the max score is 99,999,999.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi300.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fnn38%2FKimimaru4000%2FSuperPaperMarioMaxPossibleDamage.jpg&hash=44e67b2af36bceba9c0fcd52e3e79d4f)

The max possible damage! Look at that 158,400 damage hit on the Amazy Dayzee! It probably died about 1,000 times from that! Done with max Attack (99/198 for Bowser), doubled attack from the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials, Thudley, 99 Amazy Dayzee cards, an Ice Storm to freeze the Amazy Dayzee in place, and temporary doubled attack from a Hot Sauce. Sorry about the other picture; I took it off because this one is the true max damage.

Here is my video for the max damage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDVpQ-yfzJE

My strategy is up! Good luck!

I don't know if the max stats should be put anywhere on the site, but if Deezer can find a place, that would be greatly appreciated! I also added this to the Super Paper Mario article on Wikipedia.org, so check that out too!

Okay! Here's my strategy to getting a lot of coins and tokens (Having Dashell and completing the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials are both strongly recommended). Note that Mario should be played, as he moves the fastest and has the power to flip to 3D mode. YOU MUST HAVE ACCESS TO THE FLIPSIDE ARCADE TO COMPLETE THIS!!! I also highly recommend having the game completed, but it is not required.

-Also, after you do this the first time or finish learning the strategy, it is recommended that you have at least 400 Flipside Tokens in the Flipside Arcade and 3 Amazy Dayzee cards with you before you start. This saves some time and makes things easier.

Note: This strategy is very time consuming. Make sure you have at least 3 hours to spare if you're doing this for the first time.

Well, here it is:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Have at least 200 coins and an empty inventory. Then buy 10 Catch Cards from the Card Shop, located on the second floor in Flipside after you flip to 3D and go past the opening in the wall.

2) After you have 10 Catch Cards, use the Return Pipe and enter the door that takes you to Chapter 5-2, Land of the Cragnons. It's the light-blue door.

3) Go through the first 2 doors in that chapter and you should be in the area where there is a gap and a floating platform moving back and forth. Get to the other side in the fastest way you can (with Dashell, you can jump over the whole gap). Then flip to 3D mode; you will see an Amazy Dayzee. Press the "+" button, or Start, and then press left to scroll to your inventory.

4) Press "2" so that you use the Catch Card. You may have to wait a few seconds, but after you do, the Amazy Dayzee will be caught (being at level 99 ensures that it's a 100% chance of catching the Amazy Dayzee)!

5) Once you catch the Amazy Dayzee, go and pick up the card, and go through the door you came from. Go left, and you will see a pipe. Jump over it and you'll see a second, taller pipe. Go into that pipe. After you're in the pipe, go back up immediately and go back to the area with the Amazy Dayzee. Going through the pipe is necessary because enemies respawn after you go 2 screens away from where they are. Going into the pipe acts as the second screen.

6) Repeat steps 3-5 (without going through the first 2 doors in the chapter). Once you have no more Catch Cards left, go buy 10 more. If you can't afford 10 more, simply sell 1 Amazy Dayzee card. Continue this until you have 99 Amazy Dayzee cards. Saving to the right of the door that takes you to the Amazy Dayzee area is recommended after every 10 Amazy Dayzee cards you catch.

7) After you have 99 Amazy Dayzee cards, make sure you have at least 99 coins. This makes everything faster. Now go back to the Card Shop.

8) Sell 3 Amazy Dayzee cards to the shop owner. If you have 99 coins, the last Amazy Dayzee card sale will end sooner than the others for some reason, saving you time, which accumulates. Also, if you have every enemy card, then press "right" on the Wiimote 7 times and then "down" 4 times to easily get to the Amazy Dayzee card.

9) Get out of the Card Shop and flip to 3D mode. Go through the wall again and stay in 3D mode. When you go down and move past the Cooking Shop, you should see a down arrow that takes you to the down elevator. Press "left" to go down a floor.

10) Go into the blue door that takes you into the Bar. Once in there, you should flip to 3D mode and start heading down. When the floor starts to change to a different color, jump as high as you can, still moving down. You should land on a pipe; go down it if you already haven't.

11) You're in the Flipside Arcade! Now talk to The Interchet (the robot guy) and tell him you would like to Buy Tokens. Press "up" after that to quickly select the option to exchange 150 coins for 50 tokens. Continue exchanging until you have 99 coins again.

12) You should now have 96 Amazy Dayzee cards and 99 coins left. Now go back to the Card Shop, sell 3 Amazy Dayzee cards, and buy 5 Catch Cards.

13) Use the Return Pipe and go back to Chapter 5-2; catch 5 more Amazy Dayzees, and get their cards.

14) You should now have 98 Amazy Dayzee Cards. Now use the Return Pipe once more. Quickly get at least 999 coins again. An easy way to do this would be to go to The Whoa Zone, Chapter 4-4. If you already have at least 999 coins somehow, skip to step 16 without using the Return Pipe.

15) If you go to The Whoa Zone, go through the doors until you see huge Pig-like guys, called Pigarithms. They move left and right and turn around when they hit a wall. Kill them by hitting them 3 times, preferrably jumping on them and staying above them so that you hit them 3 times without them moving; they should drop a lot of coins. Kill them until you have at least 999 coins.

16) Use the Return Pipe, go back to the Flipside Arcade, exchange your coins for Flipside Tokens, and repeat steps 8-11 until you have about 8 Amazy Dayzee cards left. Saving after exchanging about half your Amazy Dayzee cards is recommended.

17) Now sell 3 more Amazy Dayzee cards and go back into the Flipside Arcade. You should have around 9,700 Flipside Tokens at this point. The max you can hold is 9,999, so just exchange until you have 9,950. Now buy 1 of your desired Plus Item(s); either an Attack Plus or an HP Plus. Exchange the last 150 coins for 50 tokens now.

18) Use the rest of your Flipside Tokens, which should be 7,500, to buy 3 more of your desired Plus Item(s). Use them, and go back up and save. If you buy all Attack Plus Items, you should get 4 more Attack from this, and if you buy all HP Plus Items, you should get 20 more HP from this. Now you should have 5 Amazy Dayzee cards left.

19) Go back to the Card Shop and sell 2 Amazy Dayzee cards. You should have 3 remaining at this point.

20) Head back to the Flipside Arcade and exchange TWO times. This means that you will receive 100 additional Flipside Tokens and will have used up 300 coins. 399 coins should be with you at this point.

21) Retreat back to the Card Shop and buy 10 more Amazy Dayzee cards. Keep the extra 3 Amazy Dayzee cards with you, as they will help you save time by having you land exactly on 99 Amazy Dayzee cards if you follow up with the strategy when you catch them.

22) Repeat steps 1-21 as many times as desired.

Note: I recommend doing this at least 1 time per day if you're going for max stats. I got either 20 HP or 4 Attack each day.

Good luck! This is a great goal to accomplish, and I enjoyed it very much. You might get bored, but with determination, you can overcome it. I usually compare this to getting the max stats in Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, but this is much harder and more time consuming.

Why wouldn't you just post that in your first post?

My first post would be a little long, and I don't want to strike any confusion. Sorry for the inconvenience.

EDIT: Sorry Chupperson, I thought my first post would be longer :(

I actually do have a life. I just did a little bit every day. Someone would have probably done it eventually anyway.

I'm really impressed, but what use does it have to have the highest level?

And what score do you have?

Well, levels increase your stats faster and easier. Also, catching enemies with Catch Cards is easier.

My score is: 32923845, but it will be 99999999 soon, which I heard is the max, using the best method to receive points.

EDIT: Sorry I didn't say this before, but thanks!

That's almost as many hours that I have played in Pokémon Diamond.

I only played about 60 some in Diamond so far myself.

even though I bought it about two weeks ago.

where are you in those pictures with HP and Power plus, and where did you get that partner? (Haven't beaten the game yet.)

That's almost as many hours that I have played in Pokémon Diamond.

Cool. I have many hours on my Pokémon Pearl game, but mainly because I'm trying to get all the pokémon, and I leave it on without playing it from time to time. The thing with Pokémon is, it's easy to get around 500 hours on it, because there is online play. This game however, does not have online play. While I was doing this, I spent about 2 hours and 50 minutes - 3 hours and 30 minutes a day on this game, so the overall amount of days I was doing this is much higher, excluding the 30 hours of beating the game and getting all the Maps, Recipes, and Cards.

where are you in those pictures with HP and Power plus, and where did you get that partner? (Haven't beaten the game yet.)

I'm in the Flipside Arcade, my friend! The very place you buy HP Plus and Power Plus items! As for my Pixl, that's Dashell. He allows you to run VERY fast! Without him, I wouldn't have been done getting the max stats by now! I won't tell you where to get him because I feel it's a great achievement if you find out yourself. If you REALLY want to know, I'll tell you.

Before You Go to one of the pits of
100 Trials, I reccomend having these:
at least Level 28,
2 Emergency Rations,
Dyllis Deluxe,
Dyllis Lunch,
Dyllis Dynamite,
Luxurious Set,
Golden Choco - Bar,
Shroom Steak and
Stamina Juice.
Go in as Mario with either Cudge or Barry,
Use Bowser for the Clubbas.

Thanks for the tip, but I already beat both Pits of 100 Trials. That would be useful for people who are still trying to beat it, though. You're also missing an item, so I'd throw in another Dyllis Deluxe and the Special Package spell from Merlee. If I were to do any Pit of 100 Trials again, I'd probably only bring 10 Dyllis Deluxe items (not that I'd need them :))

Okay, you must either have way too much time on your hands, or you've spent almost every day since Super Paper Mario's release playing a little bit of the game. Or maybe you spent hours and hours on vacations so it didn't take nearly as long. Or maybe....

Eh, regardless, this is really cool. Far more than I could ever do. I think this may be even cooler than beating Paper Mario TTYD with the max health in the Danger Zone. :)

Five HP. You can't actually have it that low-the minimum is ten. I did see a video in which a person beats Bonetail with a maximum of ten HP... He made use of a glitch with Rally Wink and something else, I think. The most I can brag about with TTYD is beating the Pit of 100 Trials before finishing Chapter Seven.

No, actually, you can have the max health at 5 HP. You get this by going to see Chet Rippo and getting an upgrade that will lower your health from a max of 10. Of course, the only people who do this are masters who just want to REALLY test their skills. ;)

Actually, I got Super Paper Mario last Christmas, and started getting max stats in mid-January. Every day, I was playing around 3 hours - 3 hours and 30 minutes to get either 4 Attack or 4 HP Plus items to use so I can increase my stats. As I continued, I gradually came up with a strategy that, if done fast enough, can get you 4 Attack or 4 HP Plus items a day in as little as 2 hours and 30 minutes. Coincidentally, I finished getting max stats on April 8, 2008; exactly 1 year (because of the extra day from the leap year) after Super Paper Mario's US release. The strategy can be found on my second post on the first page.

Oh, and by the way, does anyone know how I can edit my title to make it say "Super Paper Mario Max Stats (May contain spoilers)"?

Again, very cool. Thats what I like about the Paper Mario games - they have such a hidden amount of depth and strategy in them, a lot which may not be obvious to people at first. :)

Paper Mario has a binding limit on all stats: 50 HP, 50 FP, and 30 BP (not including effects of HP Plus and FP Plus badges). There has to be a limit to TTYD's stats, but I've never hit any of them before. Super Mario RPG stops you leveling up at level 30.

I have gotten 50 HP and FP in Paper Mario (N64), but I always wondered if you could go any higher. Thanks for the answer.

And SMRPG has much better boss fights than Paper Mario. The bosses actually have more HP than the ones in Paper Mario (which is more of a beginners RPG).

Did you ever notice how you do more damage in SMRPG, as well?

I'm not saying Paper Mario is as good as SMRPG, because it isn't, but you get my point.

How did you do max stats? Can you do that in the original Paper Mario (for N64)? Can you do max stats in Super Mario RPG?

No, unfortunately not. There are only 2 Mario RPGs that you can get max stats in by alternate means: Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga and Super Paper Mario.

In Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, you must collect beans that you then blend together to create drinks at the Starbeans Cafe. Each blend increases a certain amount in a certain stat, but I personally used Teeheespressos, which increase a random stat by 6. By using many of these, you can result in obtaining 999 or more (max 1004 by using a Teeheespresso at 998 in a stat. It changes if you equip something.) in every stat for both Mario and Luigi. Unfortunately, this is very time consuming.

In Super Paper Mario, you must buy HP Plus or Power Plus items (formerly badges). An HP Plus item permanently increases your HP by 5, and a Power Plus item permanently increases your attack by 1. Both of these cost 2,500 Flipside Tokens each at the Flipside Arcade. Flipside Tokens can be obtained by playing games at the Flipside Arcade or buying them with coins. If you choose to buy them with coins (which is faster), you can choose to buy 1 token for 3 coins, 5 tokens for 15 coins, 10 tokens for 30 coins, or 50 tokens for 150 coins. By buying and using many of these items, you can result in obtaining 999 HP and 99 (Mario, Peach, Luigi)/198 (Bowser) attack. Similar to Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, this is also very time consuming, except it's much more time consuming.

There has to be a limit to TTYD's stats, but I've never hit any of them before.

The limit is 200 HP, 200 FP, and 99 BP.

Does anyone know any simple, easy, and not so expensive equipment I can use to directly take pictures from my Wii? If so, where would I find this equipment, and how good is it exactly?

Well, I know you can record things on your TV by recording with a VHS and/or DVD, but as for screen stills...

You need a video capture device.

Okay, cool. Are there any specific video capture devices that you recommend?

I don't recommend any specific one. Also, you can buy a video-in cable for a camera and plug it into your Wii input. If you don't have a camera with video-in, I suggest looking one up and buying it.

Kimimaru did you happen to have a players guide for the game when you did this?  I would think it would take alot longer to do that without a some sort of players guide.
Title: Re: Super Paper Mario Max Stats (May contain spoilers)
Post by: Kimimaru on July 31, 2008, 09:53:03 PM
I don't use Players Guides for any games. Before starting the max stats, I was at level 99, I had already gotten all the Recipes, Cards, and Maps, I had beaten all the side quests, and I was originally going to earn coins by killing enemies. While selling cards for some quick coins, I realized that Amazy Dayzee cards sell for 300 coins each. I found out where to find Amazy Dayzees by looking around, and I tried catching one with a Catch Card. I knew that the higher level I was, the easier it is to capture enemies with Catch Cards. So after catching the Amazy Dayzee, I then formulated my strategy from there, while gradually improving it as I went on.

I also thought that getting the max stats would take longer than it took.

Wow then you really must be the master at Super Paper Mario.  Unless other people have done this too then your both the masters. :)  I am ashamed because I have the players guide to super paper mario.  The reason I have it is because I was planning to do exactly what you did WITHOUT the guide.  Now I am very sad cause I'm not the first one to get to the max stats.

I know a good way to make alot of money fast.  If you've beaten all of chapter 4, go to chapter 4-4 to the maze.  Then get to the room where the weird looking blocky, green pigs are ( I don't know their name).  Anyways when you kill them they spurt out a huge amount of coins.  Theres about 5 in the room but you can only get 4 because the other one is on the ceiling.  Anyways just keep exiting and going back and you will get a huge amount of money in no time!

Don't be sad! It's okay since the game has been out for over a year.

Oh yeah. In my strategy I recommend going there at certain points to obtain extra coins that you will need to make it faster. Otherwise, the Amazy Dayzee strategy is faster, sorry :(.

Oh thats fine!  I just didn't know that you already had it written down.  It's probably a very popular way to get money in that game.  Alot of people probably know about it now from just playing.

I beat it too.  The first time I attempted it I got to Wracktail I died.  I collected so many rare cards and played for about 4 hours straight to the point my hands were wrinkled with sweat.  That night I could barley sleep because I was in such shock of losing after I had got so much and played so long.  But the second time I attempted I beat Wracktail and got all the stuff.  That night I could barley sleep out of excitment.

I have a question about the games in the Flipside Arcade. Do they ever end, or do they go on forever?
Title: Re: Super Paper Mario Max Stats (May contain spoilers)
Post by: MushroomJunkie on October 01, 2008, 09:23:04 AM
Well they're meant to go on forever but of course if you play for long enough without dying then the game is bound to freeze or just go black.  I doubt anyone (even Kimimaru) is good enough to play one of those games long enough for it to freeze.
Title: Re: Super Paper Mario Max Stats (May contain spoilers)

The Arcade games do end, as a matter of fact, and I've completed them all.

1. Forget Me Not (the card matching game) ends after Round 30.

2. Mansion Patrol (the Boo shooting game) ends after Round 10.

3. Tilt Island (the game where you're on a platform and you have to tilt the Wiimote to avoid enemies and collect food) ends after Round 20.

4. Hammer Whacker (the secret game where you have to swing the Wiimote like a hammer) ends after Round 100.

After you complete each game, the words "Game Complete" come on the screen with a different song than if you lost the game, and it starts exchanging your points for Flipside Tokens like normal. It also records your high score like normal.

Maybe you could do a video on the final levels of each minigame?

That would also be cool!

Great guide! I would also like to add, for those who aren't at lvl. 99 yet, gather several Sqiglets in 1-1 into a wide open area and use Carrie to bounce on their rocks. It will lead to extermely high point values, and after around 4000 bounces, you will max out the score counter. This goes by decently fast, though.

Again, is anyone going for the max stats?

I'm a little late to the party, but I just got max stats yesterday.

Kimimaru,

I followed your strategy to max out my stats.

Well, sort of.

Instead of grinding for 4 Plus items, I grinded for 3.  I mean, I can't see starting from 0 Amazee Dayzee cards every time I do this.

Well anyway,  I pretty much did the following:

1.  Start with 24 Amazee Dayzee cards and 799 coins (10 catch cards were bought prior to doing this)
2.  Go to 5-2 and capture those golden dayzees of coiny goodness (300 coins a piece.  OH YEAH!).  Do this until you have 99 of them;   Just take the second door you see, clear the cliff, flip into 3D, and capture away.  Go through the door, take the pipe and go through the door again.  Wash, rinse, repeat.
3.  Whenever you use all your catch cards, go back to the card shop and buy 10 more.  Then go back to 5-2 and keep mining those coins.
4.  If your coins are less than 999 when you have 99 Amazee Dayzee cards, go to 4-4 and jump on some pigarithms.  (I got tired of doing this on my last few runs, and ended up stomping stone buzzys.  Towards the very end, I sold some of my non-Amazee Dayzee surplus cards.  :P )
5.  Go to the Flipside Arcade and trade 900 of your coins for 300 Flipside Tokens.  When you have 99 coins, go to the card shop and sell 3 Amazee Dayzee cards.  Do this until you have 7,500 Flipside Tokens.
6.  Once you have 7,500 Flipside Tokens, trade them for the InterChet's absurdly high Plus items, which sell for 2,500 Flipside Tokens a piece (couldn't you at least have a sale every now and then?)  Get 3 of whatever one you want.  (I pretty much got all Power Pluses when I was working on attack and all HP Pluses when I was working on HP.)
7.  Prepare for your next run, because you're going to be doing this AGAIN and AGAIN.  At this point, you should have 27 Amazee Dayzee cards.  Go to the card shop and sell three of them, then buy 10 catch cards.  You are now ready for another run!  (You can wait until tomorrow, if you want.)
8.  Repeat steps 1-7 until you have max stats.

So that is pretty much your strategy,  tailor-made to suit my needs.  For most of the time,  I pretty much did this twice a day.  That's SIX Plus items per day.  A few facts about my stat grinding marathon:

- The stat grinding took 35 days.  I  started on May 14th and ended on July 4th (To explain the gaps, I took a two week hiatus on May 14th, resuming on May 28th and I took a four-day vacation from June 8th to June 11th.)  Only two of these days involved me doing one run. May 23rd and July 3rd.  All other days was spent doing this twice a day, early in the morning.
- My first two runs were spent collecting 99 Amazee Dayzee cards  (For the first run, I bought three Plus items and sold the rest of the cards for recipe ingredients, treasure maps and random cards at the card shop.  I started from scratch for my second run, and established the 24 Amazee Dayzee card rule, which remained for the remainder of my run.)
- The runs averaged 136 to 140 minutes each.  80 minutes to catch 79 Amazee Dayzees and an hour to trade the Flipside Tokens.  For pretty much most of the time, I averaged around 56 or 57 minutes.
- It took 9 days to max out my attack.  For HP, however, it took me 26 days.
- The number of Amazee Dayzee cards caught to buy the Plus items is calculated to be 4,850  (This doesn't even include the estimated 260 Amazee Dayzee cards used to buy catch cards.)
- 485,000 Flipside tokens were used to max out my stats  (117,500 for Power and 367,500 for HP).  This works out to a grand total of 1,455,000 coins  (352,500 for Power and 1,102,500 for HP).
- 47 Power Pluses were purchased and 147 HP Pluses were purchased.  This works out to a total of 194 Plus items.
- The time that it took for me to max out my stats is estimated to be 148 hours and 25 minutes (148:25).  That's 1.3 Plus items per hour.
- My game clock after getting the last three Plus items was 192:43.  All three of them were HP Pluses, and the last HP Plus increased my HP by 0.  (So the TRUE number of HP Pluses is 148, but I didn't count that one because of this.)

To summarize this, I guess this is my lengthy way of saying thank you, Kimimaru.

My next goal?  Max out my stats on Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, a game that I have never played and beat before.  I got to Oho Oasis a while ago, but I haven't touched the game since.

Once again,  thank you for this strategy.  This really helped.  :)

Maxing your stats in M&L:SS shouldn't be quite as troublesome, granted you're good at the arcade games.

On that note, would it be faster to max stats in Superstar Saga using the surfing game (assuming you could consistently get 0:38:98 or less) and then cleaning up STACHE with Star 'Stache Smash/Border Jump Sunshine, or getting as far as you can with Teeheespressos then cleaning up individual stats?

Wow, I almost forgot about this, lol. Glad to know I helped you, thekyster07, and congratulations! I'm also glad that my strategy is somewhat flexible. I remember doing only one run of stat items a day so it took me twice as many days as you! In any case, good luck with Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (it's not nearly as painful)!
