How would this inspire any kids to buy an NES? I'd be too busy changing my now-wet pants to really take them up on their challenge. Also, I don't remember any Nintendo Game that featured a mild-mannered, well-talored office guy for an enemy...

He did get one thing right, though: you're pretty much unable to beat any game with R.O.B.

Why did they think Lakitu was an owl?

Also, the office guy with test pattern backdrop reminds me of Max Headroom.

Creepy, but it beats exuberant, multicultural suburbaners any day (no, I haven't seen this ad).

I'm scared. That Bowser robot's awesome though.

I wish there was a movie of the best (or worst) videogame ads from the 80s and 90s, from multiple countries. Some are creepy, some very creative, some make you wonder what on earth they were thinking (Zelda characters dancing in the Japanese Zelda commercial, the wild Atari Pole Position commercial).

I liked how they had his cloud talking.  Although the cloud does look a lot more prominent than Lakitu himself in the original game.

True. Can't understand what the kid's saying in the first followup, but it annoys me.

The first followup (kid beating Super Mario Bros.) has this hilarious comment from one YouTuber:

We need to have Evilrobobowser in more games. His goofy smile contrasts so awesomely with his sinister demonic robot taunts that it'd be a crime not to have him in the next SSB.

That square-headed office guy with the text pattern behind him needs to be a boss in the next SSB, or a possible story-driven Nintendo crossover RPG.

Heh, I find it funny how the Duck Hunt dog has an accent and none of the others really do.

EDIT: Oh, wtd? My 2000th post is commenting on the accent of a dog. >_>
