Title: F-Zero Wii
Post by: Glitchy on August 20, 2008, 01:43:36 PM
Does anyone have any suggestions/rumors/theories about it?

I hope its like F-Zero GX for GCN because that one was amazing, and strangely developed by Sega. (Heh, Sonic gave them a few tips?) The only things I didn't like were the uninspired characters, the lack of the Mute City song or any good F-Zero music. (Some of the music was...okay, but the C. Falcon theme song, for example, goes into the Sega cheesiness category.).

Hopefully, if they bring back Story Mode, it won't be so hard. (Not to mention that to get all of the prizes in the game you need to beat the already impossible missions on Hard and even Very Hard.

They need to add transforming vehicles. That's the only thing that'll make me want to play it.

I don't think Glitchy listened to the FZGX soundtrack.

Uninspired characters? GX only added eleven new ones and they fit in with the others just fine... I've only gotten two of them... Also, there is a way to get more traditional versions of the Mute City and Big Blue songs. Look into that. As for the rest of the soundtrack, I liked it. GX was an amazing game, and the thought and effort put into it is very clear.

There is a load of things I would like to see in the next game, but given how things go with Nintendo I think most of them unlikely... aside from obvious stuff like an even more vast selection of custom machine parts and Wi-Fi that runs even better than Mario Kart. I want to be able to give my machine a name of my own imagination instead of it being named after the parts, and draw emblems and upload them as PNGs from my SD card, for example. Voice chat would be cool but my bad connection would probably butcher it.

That does sound interesting

F-zero Wii should have the SNES tracks with their respective soundtrack then I'd want it more.

FZGX even had awesome new versions of the SNES music! I don't understand what the hangup here is.

Does anyone have any suggestions...
ONLY ONE.  Make the speedometer analog, please.

It doesn't even have to be a traditional circle-style speedometer.  It could be a vertical bar, if you're going for futuristic.  It could even have effects, like resetting back to zero and changing colors to indicate a "gear shift" (in effect, simply reaching a certain speed).

Just don't make it digital... There's a reason they did away with digital speedometers in the 80's.

Too bad that isn't F-Zero.

No, I think that's actually quite good.

Hopefully better than the Armada one for Ps2.  That was awful.

???
I said it was good that Transformers wasn't the next F-Zero.

I'd have to agree that adding more gameplay gimmicks than necessary would ruin it. The satisfaction of smashing the other racers is good enough.

I know, It's just blatant how GX it is.

I don't think Glitchy listened to the FZGX soundtrack.

If it's about the Mute City theme, yes, I do know that there's a little part of it for the MC track, but that doesn't cut it.

Go to the Shop menu.

Sounds of Mute City: X, X, X, Y, X, X, X, Y, Z, Z, left, right, left, right, left, right

Sounds of Big Blue: Z, left, right, Left, Z, Y, X, Z, left, right, left, right, Z, X, Z, X, Z

This unlocks them to buy, though, for ninety-nine tickets each. I like the default songs and the classic ones about the same. If you're more of a puritan-type gamer, you can beat all the cups on Master instead... I'm on my way to that, but that's because I want the AX cup. I want it badly.

Meh F-Zero is NOT for casuals.

Fixed. If you want casual racing, play Mario Kart. Then play F-Zero GX, and see how far the difficulty level jumps.

Meh F Zero is for casuals.

Even though ironically it's aprox. 10x harder.

F-Zero is EASILY the hardest racing game I've ever played.
No other game comes close.
To stay on topic: I'd like 30 player Wi-Fi, more parts, A TRACK EDITOR AKIN TO F-ZERO X EXPANSION KIT, and a career mode.

An F-Zero game for the wii would be off the hook. It would be awsome using the wheel! But I really want Nintendo to create another Star Fox game.

What? Using the wheel would not make F-zero Star Fox like.

Member title of "17 brain cells" oddly appropriate...

I forget if I ever posted in this thread, but the next F-Zero desperately needs a track creator. One of the GBA or DS games had it, so why not? We were teased about it back with F-Zero X and only Japan got that. There's a utility floating around that creates custom tracks for English F-Zero X ROMs, but I found it hard to use.

Since I don't think they can improve the game much in other areas (unless the machine creator parts were actually good enough to compare with the 30 regular machines), a track creator is what I want to see. As for other areas, the game is still impossible at higher difficulty levels and it will probably take years to beat every cup with every machine.

That is, it's near-impossible unless you snake.

Speaking of the machine creator, if they're going to stick with the predefined names instead of writing your own names, then the announcer should say those predefined names instead of "original machine".

Mmm. I did it, and I haven't taken the time to really even learn how snaking is even done in GX. The AX cup is actually kind of easy to beat on Master... Did it on my first try, have done it again. Well, I mean, I can't beat it in the Great Star, but I did in the Death Anchor. What's really hard to beat on high difficulty levels is the story mode. I still need Phoenix, Dai San Gen, Lily Flyer, Digi-Boy, and PJ before I've gotten all of the new racers. Having beaten all of the story chapters on hard, I might have all of the custom machine parts. I'm not sure.

Edit: Oh! With every machine. Yeah... no way. I meant, I just beat every cup on Master.
