Does anyone know if Japanese and PAL games have ratings? If so, what are they like? What's the system and what's the strictness?

I don't think the Japanese games have a rating system. But I know that PAL (or at least Europe) has an age-based rating system, like Star Fox Adventures is rated "For ages 3+" or something similar. As you may be able to discern, the European rating system is a lot looser than the ESRB, considering SFA got an ESRB rating of T.
