Title: Coolest Videogame Weapon

What do you think is the coolest weapon(s) from any given videogame(s)? Personally, I think the BFG (Big Freaking Gun) from the Doom and Quake games is the collest. But there are many other coll weapons, so you can say what you think is the coolest here.

Well, having never played shooter games myself, I've only realy watched by brothers play Quake when I was little, and I was more interested in the different guns and how they fired and all that.  I like the Rocket Launcher, because it had the giant explosions, and the machine gun(not chain gun) because it looked small and sleek but had rapid fire.

Markio, you never played a shooter?! Seriously, I'm worried. You need to play Wolfenstein 3D, all three Doom games, all four Quake games, Half-Life 1 and 2, Metroid Prime 1 and 2 (yes, they count as shooters), Serious Sam, Perfect Dark, Halo 1 and 2, and GoldenEye 007. Now get crackin'!

The only shooters I've plated are the Metroid Prime demo for DS, The World is not enough and, Goldeneye

Well, there was the RCP-120 and Slayer from Perfect Dark, I was always a fan of the Klobb in Goldeneye, even though it is the weakest weapon.  I loved Oddjob's hat in 007 Nightfire.  I like the Lightning bolt in the Mario Karts.  But an overall favorite would have to be the Farsight, also from Perfect Dark.

Big fan of the Golden PP7 in Goldeneye.

That, and the Cougar Magnum.  I always used that in the Jungle, because that's the weapon Natalya used.

-Mario's items and tools of all shapes, sizes and games
-The light arrow in the Windwaker
-The screw attack in Metroid
-Roc's cape in the Minish Cap

The Napalm Launcher from Blood is my favorite weapon. Get a room of zombies, launch a special attack, and shut the door, wait a few seconds, and when you open in you will be treated to a nice red floor :)

PS stand next to a wall and try that ;)

I like the chainsaw from the Doom games. It's just so much fun to go up to an enemies and slice it in half. It's even more fun in Doom 3 with the area-specific damage.

How can you forget the Concrete Donkey?

Other than that, I'd say the Devastator from Duke Nukem 3D. Tearing everything around you into chunks with a rapid-fire rocket launcher is just too fun(provided the ammo cheat is on, otherwise you're just wasting its hard-to-find ammo).

The Armageddon wasn't that cheap. Wait, it was. Also, I was recently looking up a Doom mod guide when I came across this (sorry, no pic):

"The UnMaker was originally designed to be in the final version of Doom, but it was not to be. It is essentially a life-draining weapon that sucks the life of out enemies and adds it to your own."

They showed a picture of it, and it's this kick-a*s giant skull monster thing held like a chaingun. It's just so cool, and it would be AWESOME in multiplayer.

OPf course it was origionally in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, however, It was also added as a weapon (a powerful grenade)in the Game Worms World  Party.

The astericks from Star Tropics.  Not a particularly cool looking weapon, but lots of fun to use...they forced you to keep your eyes on two focal points at once, long before the DS was invented.

Sniper rifle...in most any game. With enough aiming and tactical skill you can blow anyone's head off before they see where they got owned from. And in a lot of games, they work just as well close up.

Seconded on the Halo 1 pistol. It's an easy three-shot kill in the right hands. Who cares if it's eight years old...the best Mario games are over twenty years old and counting.

With eight more years of experience under my belt, I'd have to say the Devastator from the Duke Nukem series. The molotov from Left 4 Dead is a bit of a favourite too.

The Chicago Typewriter from RE4 may be based off of a real weapon, but regardless I'd still count it as a cool video game weapon. It has infinite ammo, and fires ten bullets a second. Each bullet does 10HP (ten times the damage of an unupgraded pistol in the game), meaning you do one hundred times the damage of a pistol a second. And it stuns most enemies really good, too.
