The trial's out! And this took 4 minutes to write.
Glorious day!
-
I viewed and posted in this topic using the internet channel. :D I kind of had to work around things to capitalize that D...
-
It was such a strange (but wonderful!) experience, that I had to verify I actually posted using the computer. It works, alright, and although you can't type quickly, it still works well. I played some of my old presents on the Internet Channel! Now I'm going to sleep...
-
Sweet! Could we see pictures, please?
-
...of Suffix sleeping?
-
Well, like Bird Person I'm posting in this topic with my wii too.
-
Now I don't even have to get out of bed to post here. Hooray Internet Channel!
too.us
Huh?
-
Obviously, they fail at typing Wii-style.
-
Here's an interesting "feature" I found with the text predictor. I was typing "bulb" into it. The predictor had three words: bulb, bulbs, and Bulbasaur. Clearly it was made by Nintendo!
-
I made this post on my crappy computer >:(. Well, I guess there are some advantages to using a computer, like smaller fonts & the ability to use the keyboard during flash games. When I get my Wii (hopefully) this christmas, I'll be able to join in on your fun.
Is everything Nintendo promised (like support for flash nd AJAX) in the beta web browser?
-
Well, it supports Flash from what I've used it for (YouTube to watch the TMK movies).
-
This was actually the first site I went to on the Internet Channel. :) My arm is falling asleep...
-
So YouTube works on it? Nice. It'll make viewing so much easier.
Too bad my connection is gone. Maybe I can take my Wii to work and connect there...
-
Well, it did. The jerks disabled it.
-
What got disabled? YouTube? (It works for me.)
-
Uh-huh, YouTube still works.
-
Well, it did. The jerks disabled it.
It doesn't work for me either. I was beginning to think there was something wrong with my Wii specifically.
-
They turned it back on again.
-
Those
jerks nice guys!
-
When I first saw this topic, I went nuts. Oh sure, I'll bet the cat's been out of the bag for months now, but it's interesting that the Wii is probably the first mainstream console to have full-fledged Internet capabilities other than online gaming.
By the way, I need a Wii. Badly. Gimmie!
-
Who are you and what've you done with Glorb?
Well, this is just the beta... It can't do some things such as open MPEGs or MP3s... But flash works. And this is my second Wii post.
-
*cough*
It can open MPEGs and MP3s, but that's a secret, and, considering the source, probably illegal.
-

So, Saturn, Dreamcast, and PS3 weren't mainstream? Or, PS2, GameCube, Xbox, if counting unofficial methods. And DS and PSP if counting handhelds. Certainly the Wii is the most accessible and fully-featured of them all, though.
-
I would not consider the Saturn mainsteam and the Dreamcast barely mainstream. The PS3 only came out one day earlier. The DS browser isn't in our country yet.
Glorb is fairly correct.
-
TWO days earlier

Well, I'm sorry I'm not a 5up0r 1337 H4XX0R... I'll just use it to post here (again!).

:O
Awesome. I'd give my entire stock of cheese to have this. Have there been hacks like this with the PS3? If not, then there's something new us Nintendo fanboys can gloat about the Wii >:).
-
It's a simple "hack." Clearly that's just a system for controlling one's house that is accessible via the Internet. And that person is accessing it with the Wii.
-
It isn't a hack at all. And yes, it should be accessible on the PS3, if it has Internet and a browser.
-
Hi, guys! I finally got my Wii today and downloaded the internet channel!
It's actually pretty fun. The on-screen keyboard is decent and somewhat reminds me of Animal Crossing for some reason. Admittably, it is kinda slow, but it gets the job done. Still, it's fun typing on the TV.
Overall, I like it. Maybe not as convenient as a computer, but I enjoy it.
-
Slow? My Wii is a decent distance from the router, and it appeared to be just as fast as my computer.
-
I meant that typing on the on-screen keyboard is slow, but I kinda said it in a way that made it seem I was calling the browser slow. The Wii browser is pretty fast. I can't tell the difference between the Wii browser and my computer speed-wise. Sorry about that ^^;. Most of my comments in my post made on the Wii browser were generated towards the on-screen keyboard used for typing.
-
Ah-ha! You are correct, the on screen keyboard is somewhat painful to use. Auto-completion helps, usually, but you just can't replace QWERTY. OR DVORAK! Please don't hit me!
-
I can use the onscreen keyboard with the greatest of ease.
-
So can I, but it's still annoying...
-
Greatest of ease. Still annoying. Does not compute.
-
It makes sense. Take, for example, working at a fast food restaurant.
-
Yay, I posted here through Wii!
-
I guess it's my turn to post here, though I'm doing so from a hotel (so not a permanent connection). It took some finagling to input my password (with inconsistent capitalization).
-
Yay, I posted here through Wii!
OMG! So did I. That's too weird to be a coincidence.

-
I hope thsi isn't a bump, but i found the title of this topic to be amusing, for some reason. It sounds almost like someone saying "I posted this on the Interwebs Computer!"
-
Well, back then posting with a Wii was something notable.
-
One hundred years ago:
"I Made This Letter Using the Typewriter!"
-
Was I the only one who caught that Fifth sounds like he's on the run?
-
caught = imagined
-
Yeah, sorry Markio-- I don't think it was intentional.
-
Typing with the Wii is extremely easy for me although it still takes me longer to type.
The Wii internet is awesome.
EDIT: Oops just saw the last post date. :/
-
I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
-
Six days does not usually mean a bump, especially in cases where the post adds to the topic (like yours).
-
Wii posting test. high low strong redspoiler
-
I think we'll probably get mad when somebody says, "Look, guise!! I'm postin onna Wiiiiiiiii!" when this topic hasn't been responded to in a year or so.
-
At least that would be better than starting a new topic. But we would be more likely to get mad because it won't be anthing new or interesting in a year.
-
Well, why would anyone create a topic about news from a year ago? ...Unless they just discovered the function...
Yeah, MaxVance, you're right. I suppose bumping that isn't for the sake of bumping isn't that bad.
-
As long as they were actually posting from a Wii, I don't think I'd get mad at a bump ever in this topic.
-
How do you select/copy/paste text on Wii?
-
Maybe that'll be implemented with the final version of the browser. Or a firmware update for system-wide functionality.
-
I don't know if you can select text in a browser, but you can select your own text in the typer (for deletion purposes pretty much).
-
Hey, since I finally own a Wii now, I figured I would post in this topic. So, here I am, or something.
-
I'm replying to this thread on the internet channel! Wow this is taking awhile.
-
dudes, full version
-
Hopefully you all understand how the Internet Channel will be sold. For those who don't (Bird Person), it's free from now until June 2007. After that, you will have to pay $5 to download it if you didn't get it before June.
And yes, I am posting this through the Internet Channel.
-
Huzzah! The final browser!
-
Yes I just downloaded it as well. I like it so far.
You can zoom in even more than before!
-
It'll probably get more updates in the Wii's lifespan.
You can also zoom out an obscene amount! (lol, HTML from the Wii)

July. You can still download it through all of June.
The best features have to be the fact that it takes up the whole screen (adjustable size so you don't have to be in the safe zone, toggle out the toolbar on the bottom), and the fact that you can use the control pad to scroll (instead of doing nothing and having the most annoying scrolling ever with the B button).
Not posted on Wii
-
I'm on it right now. It was well worth the wait. It's a lot faster.
-
Yes, I agree that the new B-scrolling is worse than the old. I didn't even try the d-pad, so thanks!
-
I like it better than the trial version, but yeesh... It supports, like, nothing but HTML, JPEGs and flash.
-
that download took me a long time to successfully download...
my connection must suck...
