Thank you for the speaking skills compliment. I always try to use good grammar and spelling online. And as for the screen name, I wasn't really sure what to use so I just put together two of my favorite things.

I guess from a physics standpoint the weight of the kart makes sense. Two people are heavier than one. Also, the karts look bigger than the ones on Mario Kart 64.

If I hit the egg that is launched by one of those two, am I vulnerable if I run into it?

Well, this is actually my fourth post now (didn't see this thread until now).

I guess I should explain a bit about myself. I found this board because I had a question about Mario Kart for Nintendo Cube (the Double Dash version). I have both a Cube and a Nintendo 64, both of which I use mostly for baseball and football. I also have Mario Kart for both systems and Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64.

I'm not a hardcore video game person like some of you probably are. I play if I'm having a quiet afternoon and I don't have to work or something. You won't find me setting aside hours each day to game, nor will you find me hosting video game parties like some video game people I knew in high school used to do (to me, it's not a party unless you have a DJ and a dance floor). So if my terminology on here isn't right, don't be too harsh. And I already know I'm not all that good at video games, so don't poke at me too badly.

There look to be some fun topics on here in this miscellaenous section!

General Chat / Re: The CARPET thread: Discuss all carpetry here!

Interesting that I find a topic like this. I came here to ask a Mario Kart question and I found this miscellaneous section with a carpet thread on it.

I'm finishing a basement right now and I'm wondering what kind of carpet to get. I've heard berber is good and cost-effective, but if anyone else here has basement carpet and has a better idea let me know.

It will work as long as:

-it isn't overly expensive
-is available in blue
-doesn't require special mantinence other than sweeping

Thanks for any input you guys might have.

Game Help / Mario Kart Double Dash: Need help
« on: July 20, 2006, 12:15:22 PM »
Hi,

I usually use my Nintendo Cube for baseball and football, but I've also been addicted to Mario Kart since the Nintendo 64 version. I've had the new version for a few years now (I got it when it came out by reserving it on Amazon--a rarity for me, since I own very few games) and I like it, but I'm wondering if there's an equivalent to the jump feature that was achieved by pressing "R" on the Nintendo 64 controller. Cornering is a little bit harder without that.

Also, is 150 CC as tough as it it seems? Or am I just not very experienced/good at games? (Aside from baseball and football, I also have Super Mario 64, which I beat after nine years of playing off and on, and I've heard it's a hard game to beat--note that I would go about six months between sessions of playing it so it took me from 1997-2006). On Mario Kart, I've been working on the All Cup Tour at 150 CC for a while now and can't get higher than silver.

Thanks for any help you guys might have.
