Mario Party 9 is sure to come.
So I thought why wait until they announce the game to discuss it?

so this thread is all about the inevitable mario party 9 and our hopes for how the game will turn out
Like what new characters should be in, how about this for a course, or,"ooh i have the greatest idea for a minigame"

So here are some of my ideas

new characters: diddy kong, kamek or Roselina (galaxy)

new course idea: delfino plaza

I haven't played a Mario Party since 5, or if it counts, Advance.
Ditto used Machop!

There are way too many Mario Party games already.  Counting Advance and DS, there are, probably 10 Mario Parties.  They should just let it rest for a while.

I'm still wondering why people want to include Rosalina in everything now. I think she should probably be in a few more adventures until that happens,

I'm pretty sure Rosalina is a one-time deal. She's too cool/hot/epic to be in a sappy Mario Party.

Im pretty sure she's going to be in Mario Kart Wii since they said someone from Galaxy would be in it. So if she can make it into kart, then why not party
Time is repeating itself. Why you say? Look at the Wii and NES and you'll know why.

Rosalina for Super Smash Bros 4!

Honestly, it's probably just because she was actually a pretty cool character with a decent backstory and the ability to grow large without a Super Mushroom that appeals to people. She also has a pretty decent chance of being a returning character since 1) she was in a main adventure game and 2) there aren't that many female playable characters to begin with, and it doesn't seem like they're going to start importing more characters from Donkey Kong or Wario games.

Though honestly, since Diddy Kong has been in most Mario cameo titles since Toadstool Tour and Double Dash, why hasn't he been playable in Mario Party yet?
As a game that requires six friends, an HDTV, and skill, I can see why the majority of TMK is going to hate on it hard.

In first place: Mario!
"Oh yeh!"

In second place: Peach!
"All right."

Third place: Wario!
"Wagh!"

And in fourth place, Rosalina!
"Oh. I'm losing."

Nobody is a "one-time" deal with Nintendo.

MP9 needs online play
I agree. The only way I'll ever get another Mario Party is if it has online play. Playing Mario Parties against the CPU is no fun.

If MP9 has online play then you'd probably expect people to drop out a lot in party mode

Minigame mode however would be excellent for online play.
Though how exactly would it work?
