...I like Birdon from Kirby Super Star...

Hey, me too!
He was always my favorite helper to play as as the 2P.

I prefer Tac or Bonkers, myself (in Ultra, anyway, I've never played the original).

I like playing as Knuckle Joe. Also, Kirby Superstar Ultra is a really good game.

I'm probably alone in citing the oft-overlooked Kirby and the Amazing Mirror as my favourite instalment. As for KSSU partners, I'm torn between the near-invincible Simirror, or Plasma Wisp.

You're not alone Weegee. Amazing Mirror, when played with four people, is just that. Amazing.

Is that why I can't seem to enjoy it?  Because it's best played with four people?

It is best played with four people, but I wouldn't know.
I don't see why we can't have links or images in this.
Avatars would be nice too.

Yeah, I never played it multiplayer, either. The Kirby games are usually pretty vanilla for me, so all I can say is the Metroidvania setup was a bizarre choice.

Bandwidth exceeded, mo'fo.

I suppose why KatAM struck my fancy was its relative difficulty. Kirby games are generally cakewalks destined for absolute completion within a matter of hours, so the sprawling worlds and well-concealed treasures was rather refreshing.

The Great Cave Offensive is also pretty difficult the first run through.
