I like it better at 16x; just slow enough that you can hear both of them.

I also like 16x for the same reason. 25x just sounds like stars far away twinkling the theme.

I, too, like it at 16x.

Hmm...this just made me realize that I haven't played my Cube in some time... :/

That was a joke.

You know, it's incredible that this went eight years unnoticed.

Reminds me of the level that was cut from Crash Bandicoot and was only first discovered late last year.

The Gamecube Ambience is so epic... even moreso than PS2's.

Having never played/owned an XBox 1, I cannot compare.
Unless you are cloned, you do not need to look like a midget version of your dad. Okay Bowser Jr.?

I heard about it from recording the song from Gamecube and deciding to speed it up after thinking about subliminal messages and previously reading about them. Then I did a quick Google search to see if anyone else had discovered this phenomenon and Famicom world spotted it this morning too.

Wow! Great discovery. Now I can't unhear it; on the normal version my brain keeps anxiously waiting for the next note.

According to that third YouTube link, which was uploaded two weeks ago, this was discovered by a YouTuber named ShadowTheRoadhog.

I had to laugh at the last link. It looked like the menu was trying to dance.

I like all versions of this song now that I know why it sounds so familiar. Has anyone else noticed that the Wii menu also sounds similar to these themes?

I asked because, well, I think I was involved in the widespread dissemination of this, without meaning to.

Someone posted it over on the Nintendo Database forums, and I noticed it and mentioned it on NeoGAF.

The next day, it was plastered all over the blogosphere.

It was slightly scary.

If that's the case, then the widely-spread version must have the majority of information about it censored out.

That may be true, though I lack a Game Boy Player. However, I keep my Cube around for two reasons...

1) The Wii is in the living room. The Cube is in my bedroom. You can probably figure out the rest.
2) Well... Just look at it!

That's awesome!

Back on topic: I never realized that the Gamecube startup song is the Famicom Disk System song in disguise! Nintendo really knows how to hide cool easter eggs like this!

N64 Chick, I had that exact same GameCube skin. Did you, perchance, get said skin at Toys 'R' Us?

Did that skin start the rumors of characters such as Toad and Diddy Kong being in Melee?

Considering that I never saw the skin until about 2005, I'd doubt that. Besides, only the noobliest of noobs would mistake Toad and Diddy's N64-era artwork as GCN renders.
