I bought a game pack, brand new & still in the plastic, of Need for Speed games. I installed one and put the disk in for it but it told me to insert the disk in when I had already put it in. I have tried taking it out and putting it back in, re-installing it, and restarting my computer, but it still won't work.

Can someone help me or give me suggestions, please?

I got a suggestion: put this topic in the Game Help section.

Since this was in a pack, are you sure it is not asking for another disk from the pack?

Do you have more than one CD drive?

Have you tried browsing the CD and trying to run it from the CD itself?

Sadib100, I don't need your input, thank you. "Game Help" as in MARIO game help, pretty much. I posted this in General Chat where it should be.

Luigison, I installed Need For Speed: High Stakes and put the NFS:HS CD-ROM in. Yes, I put the right disk in.

Yes, I do have more than one drive. I have a CD-RW/DVD-RW drive then a CD-ROM drive below it. I put it in the CD-ROM drive then tried the CD-RW drive and found that the game worked for a about a split second then there was an error.

NFS:HS is an older game but there is a wizard on Windows XP allowing you to run older programs on it. I guess I'm not getting the right settings programmed in screwing it up. I dunno...

Luigison/etc., any solution or suggestions, please? Thanks.

I kinda still need help. Can someone give me ANY suggestions about fixing any problems or installing older programs on new computer systems? (You can do that... put older games on your PC, but it confuses me)

Format your hard drive.  Install Windows 2000 or Windows ME.

Just a suggestion.  lol.

I didn't get XP because of the trouble you are having.
