I don't know if this will become my art gallery, but it's a good place to start. Anyway, here is a random doodle of Toad that I did one extremely slow night at work..
(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi287.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fll143%2FToad_2002%2FToadDoodle.jpg&hash=ca0cc63dfe9e1fc9820d7aa4d6ecb682)
For those that can't read my writing, he's saying "You just back the heck off!", likely to some irate Koopa about to make off with the princess again.
Edit: Wow, that's alot bigger than I thought it would be.
Edit2: Changed the topic title. Don't be alarmed.
-
Wow, he looks pretty PO'd. Now you just need a fight scene between Toad and this irate Koopa.
-
I chuckle every time I see this drawing. :)
-
Do you mean a random Koopa or Bowser?
-
I gotta be honest. That hand of his is hideously drawn. :P

Koopa Troopa. Easier for me to draw. My Bowser would suck tremendously.

I know it is. But, it's a definite inprovement over past hands that I've drawn. :)

When I decide to draw, I don't even put fingers. I thought those hands were awesome.

Deciding that it was high time to attempt another Koopa, this doodle came about. Ignore the amorphous blob at the bottom/middle area. I hate doodling in pen, but that's the best medium we have for doodling at work..

Hmm.. why is it so big?? I told my scanner to crop it, and even the thumbnail didnt' have all that extra white space at the bottom. Oh well..

The big koopa on the left reminds me of Peanuts' Snoopy striking a similar pose. For some reason I can't find that aforementioned pose on Google.

These are really awesome.

I was kind of going for a pose a Koopa made in the Yoshi's Island artwork, but I guess Snoopy works too. :)
Thanks Rao. :D
Now that I think about it, I have an idea for the conclusion to the Toad vs Koopa thing that's been started. I have a question about it, though: can I post Flash cartoons in a similar way that I post Brawl shots (put it in a photo-bucket account, get the url, post here..) or do I have to find another way?
-
Surely someone knows an answer. I would try it myself, but the Flash isn't done yet, and last time I tried to send a Flash cartoon to someon (my family) it didn't work for them.
-
Sorry for the triple post, but I had an idea for the Flash, so it's going to be a bit longer than expected before I'm done.
-
The exciting conclusion to the Toad/Koopa fight is forthcoming. Hopefully tonight. Stay tuned.

So, I was going through one of my old school notebooks and found an idea for a Mario Kart game that I apparently called Ultra Super Mario Kart or Super Mario Kart 2
Among the playable character ideas were Wart, Kirby (why?), Geno and Mallow (I want to say there were around 14 characters playable, but I can't be sure..) I also had several track ideas drawn out (this idea takes up over a third of the notebook) and I was thinking..
If I redrew most of the ideas, would you be interested in seeing them? I can't read all of my writing (I'm terrible at writing, apparently), but I'll decipher what I can, redraw it and scan it in. If there is interest.
As of right now, I can tell that it says that the Koopa Kids (the original 7, not this Baby Bowser nonesense) have been taken over or possesed by an evil shadow, and they are the bosses of each area/level/world. It sounds like I was trying to make the game have a story: a kart racing adventure game, like Diddy Kong Racing..
Also, the conclusion of the Koopa Toad saga is coming. The chance (and now confirmation) of my daughter finally coming home has made me numb with excitement, making my motivation next to nothing..
-
Wow, quintuple post. JK.
And hah, Super Mario Kart 2? I probably have whole notebooks filled with ideas for Mario games, from kart games to platformers to incredibly long, detailed RPGs (one including a list of level-up EXP from level 1 to 100).

I thought I would try and make a stop motion (or is it stopmotion) video. This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMz7Lox_zNY) is the result. I don't think it turned out too bad, but I know there is definite room for improvement.
Constructive criticism is welcome.

It looks good, actually. Next time, try adding more frames and speeding it up. But you seem to have the basics down.
-
Biggest thing here I would say is try not to have the frames fade into each other, it's kinda weird. Otherwise, pretty good.
-
I noticed that too. Currently I am only using the movie maker that came with my Flip camera. I think my computer has Movie Maker, but I've been afraid to use it for some reason (what if I mess the movie up somehow, you know?)
-
Also, having your hand in one of the frames is a stop-motion faux pas. Decent work overall, though.
-
Nice work. I actually liked how the frames faded into each other. It made the animation look comical. It would also be best used for dramatic or suspenseful moments. But I agree, to make a better stop-motion animation, you should add more frames. I would suggest watching stop-motion tutorials (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUNgJsLutbA) to see how it's done. Nevertheless, it was a good video.
-
I made a ton of stop-motion videos as a kid, but they were all pretty low-tech, even for then.
-
Some nerd that you all know and love made his own super skills (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsjYUmD9ELg&feature=feedu) video.
-
That's pretty neat! Nice find!
-
Cool trick. And it doesn't require extensive set-up, unlike some of the 1-Up tricks in that game.
-
Well, the one I use (Massive Coin Glitch) doesn't take too long and can actually be done with one player, although you'll be forced to experience quite a lot of lag for about a minute or so. When you don't use two players, that is.
-
Awesome find, indeed! That Hammer Brother seemed to be on to your 1up trick xD. Maybe you can include him in the K.O. process next time. (:
-
I guess I was just nervous from trying to record it, but in a normal run, I do hit everything in the fireball's path, including the Hammer Bros. :)
Maybe I'll do another recording eventually. XD
-
I love your drawing style! It'd be awesome to see those animated.
