Many of you already know I'm very interested in psychology--so much, in fact, it's my major.
Learning about myself and how my mind works is fascinating (not to mention very useful and helpful), and I also find learning about others' minds, especially personality, to be interesting.
So, I'd like to study and compare the personalities of all you guys (both for fun, and for actual research). So.... take these tests, or any other interesting ones regarding personality and post your results here!
The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) assessment I find most interesting. A particularly interesting test for this is the Preference Exploration (http://similarminds.com/pref_jung.html) test. An in-depth explanation of each type can be found here (http://personalitypage.com/portraits.html), if you want to learn more about yours (or others').
Another really cool (and dynamic) test is the Global Advanced Personality Test (http://similarminds.com/global-adv.html).
Don't forget the classic Personality Disorder Test (http://similarminds.com/personality_disorder.html)! (Also found here (http://www.4degreez.com/misc/personality_disorder_test.mv), which has been linked on the forums before.)

I have always recieved INTJ with the exception of early middle school, when I once appeared to be INFJ. Big difference.

I've taken that Personality Disorder Test a bunch of times. My results usually have to do with my mood, since I act differently when I'm upset about something or content. When I'm upset I'm very schizotypal and paranoid and show signs of most of the other disorders. Otherwise I'm normal ...at least personality disorder-wise. I think it just means I'm very emotional and that I trick myself into thinking I have problems.

Although having TOO low of scores, considering the way the questions were worded, could potentially be just as bad, I'd think--like, a person might be overly-trusting or have very low self-esteem, for example. I think I like the other Personality Disorder test better that's been linked before (http://www.4degreez.com/misc/personality_disorder_test.mv). It might be more accurate. Regardless, I like their descriptions of the disorders better. According to that version, I'm highly Obsessive-Compulsive, moderately Histrionic, and am low on everything else.
Considering I've been diagnosed with OCPD, a high Obsessive-Compulsive score is a duh.

Perceptual distortion is where your perception isn't accurate with reality. For example, one may perceive that everyone hates them and is out to get them, but it's not how things really are.
Insane Steve means there's one Extravert in the poll--someone with E _ _ _. Everyone else is Introverted (I _ _ _). Extra/Introversion isn't 100% one way or another, black or white, but someone is primarily extraverted, according to the poll.

Hmmm, I guess the perceptual distortion doesn't apply with me then, I can't seem to recall a time when I had any close experience with perceptual distortion. Except for a time I had an encounter with some psylocybin mushrooms.

Extra/introversion may not be 100% one way or another, but I often score 100% introverted on these tests. Maybe there just aren't enough questions to make me appear more extraverted!

Based on the performances in Sapphira's water park video I'd say Suffix is introverted and Watoad is extroverted. Sapphira is a little harder to explain. She sat there not wanting to be videoed. That's introverted, but she goes around kicking people of the street that curse. That's extroverted.
BTW, my wife is currently taking the tests. Then I'll take them and we'll compare. We've done this before with very long paper test so it'll be interesting to see what the same or different. (I wonder if she'll allow her info posted her.)

See, I'm also a split case.
With personal/social relationships, I tend to be almost cripplingly introverted. I can't even personally speak to someone I don't know oftentimes. Which is going to be problematic once I actually find someone I want to date (Or maybe I'm using that as an excuse to hide this problem? I got bored to day and took a stock of my life and found a LOT that I want to fix about myself). Generally, the more personal the relationship, the harder it is for me to even function.
Now, in a business relationship/group setting where the point is to get something done instead of idlely passing time, I can be very extraverted, sometimes to the point of being overbearing. Generally, though, I can initiate things that most people cannot.
I tend to score introverted on most tests because they ask a lot more social relationship questions than business relationship questions. Then again, you also are forced to function socially a lot more often.

It's all accurate. I am a very shy, quiet guy. I don't have a lot of knowledge in alot subjects, but I know alot about the things that I really like (Mario, for instance.)

I said only 50% because, well, unless you wear some makeup when you're on stage (or in front of a video camera), the lights could make your face look all washed out. Based on the performances in Sapphira's water park video I'd say Suffix is introverted and Watoad is extroverted. Sapphira is a little harder to explain. She sat there not wanting to be videoed. That's introverted, but she goes around kicking people of the street that curse. That's extroverted.

What’s interesting is that Suffix, Watoad, and I all have the same (or very similar) personality types. Suffix and I are INTJs, while Watoad is either and INTJ or INFJ; he’s harder to pinpoint because he’s more balanced. Suffix is more Introverted than me, and Watoad and I are pretty balanced/split between Introversion and Extraversion. He and I are also pretty balanced between Thinking and Feeling, but I think Watoad’s Feeling side is more developed than mine, whether he’s also an INTJ or not. Because of this, even though Suffix and I have the same personality type (think the same way), Watoad and I have a more similar personality (think AND act the same way) (come to think of it, it's freaking me out, the similarities), whether or not our types are different. I think MegaByte might also be an INTJ, but I’m not sure.
The reason my Introversion/Extraversion is hard to tell with me is that I’m Introverted in the sense that I regain energy by being alone, am very reflective and contemplative, and I usually don’t talk unless I have something to say. I exhibit characteristics of an Extravert, though, in that I’m assertive, loud, and when I do have something to say, I’m very talkative, so that tends to “balance the scales,” even though I’m definitely an Introvert. I think that’s why most people are surprised that I have mild social anxiety. Basically, I’m Extraverted when I’m comfortable.
Watoad is an Introvert, as well, but his Extraverted qualities are manifested differently than mine, in that he’s more social but less assertive. In the videos, you can see that Suffix was gradually becoming less Introverted as he became more comfortable. :)

I see no strange numbers here, aside from extroversion, which I would think would be lower. However, this test seems to see through my actions and hidden feelings. I like to be with people, but not all people, nor do I have the ability to seek out people with ease.

I hate to break the number crunching posts, but I have an interesting bit of info to share..
I seem to show symptoms of Asberger's (pronounced Ash-burgers) syndrome. My mom was doing some research, and she came across an article about Einstein and Asberger's syndrome. It turns out, Einstein may not have been a genius, but rather, well, had Asberger's.
Here are some of the symptoms (I hate calling them sympotoms, becasue that makes it sound like a bad thing..)
1- The person is lacking in social skills.
2- The person latches on to one particular subject (Einstein had his theories, I have Nintendo..)
3- The person has trouble doing what should be simple tasks (for me, it's making important phone calls, even though I know they're important..)
If you know somebody who has Asberger's syndrome, be kind to them. They may really be geniuses, and nobody knows it. :)

That's about the fifth or sixth time I've gotten INFP, so I'm pretty sure it's right, and those numbers sound about right. First time I've done one with a preferred type, though, and it sounds right on. I'd love to be a little more extroverted, but balanced out. And I probably am attracted to people more like me, at least realistically. I'm sometimes attracted to people who are more opposite of me, but that's probably mostly because more extroverted people are easier to notice. Also, I think there's often a fine line between who I'm attracted to and who I want to be.

Those all describe me, but I wouldn't say they describe all of me. I tend to be a little too self-critical, so that probably complicates things. Also, a lot of times I felt like the questions needed a two or three dimensional graph to describe my answer, whereas the question seemed to overgeneralize. For example, if I'd like to be at a party with some of my friends but not with others, how do I answer "would you like to be at a party?" Or "I would find it hard to sleep with someone" considering I'm planning on waiting until marriage. I would hopefully find it easy to sleep with my wife and hard to sleep with anyone else. Or "I think everything will work out in the end." I do believe it'll all work out for me eventually in heaven, but I'm not so sure about the immediate... which did it want? Or "I feel that my life lacks direction." I do think there's an overall direction in the grand scheme of things, but on the scale of the next ten or twenty years or so, I'm pretty much lost right now. So yeah, overall it seems like my religion might be kind of screwing with the test results. Which could be a good sign.
Over the last year or so I've been thinking about my internal clashes between my idealism and my pragmatism. I think I like the idea of people and would ideally love to be surrounded by people most of the time, but I've been so jaded by the people I've known that I'd usually rather not bother with people and be alone, rather than taking a chance. I'd like to be around good people, but if the choice is between being with people who might end up letting me down or to just be alone, I'd usually choose aloneness. So I guess non-risk-taking factors in there. But when it asks stuff like "do you like to be alone?", I'm not sure what level of liking/wanting it means (there are lots of things that I don't want, per se, but do wish I wanted, for a multitude of reasons). Also, my emotions and reason, while usually complementary, don't always mesh nicely with each other.
Also, I think I just set a record for Most Romantic.

- It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you.
- My apparent schizoidia is probably largely a result of being a homeschooled only child with no neighbors for so long (I did have siblings, but the age difference was big enough that they didn't really count until later when they started catching up).
- I really doubt the Schizotypal one. I only have two or three truly close relationships, and I love them. And I wish I had some more. Specifically, one with a female would be nice.
- I was kind of surprised that my Antisocial wasn't higher, though if you're going by "individual shows a pervasive disregard for, and violation of, the rights of others", then yeah, that's not me. I don't go out of my way to violate people, I'm just not usually comfortable around them (though again, my idealism vs. pragmatism thing comes into play here a bit).
- I like to think I'm more stable than I really am, I think.
- 50% on "individual often displays excessive emotionality and attention seeking in various contexts" is a pretty good estimate, I guess. Though it's really more situational than probablistic. Actually, I might be kind of bipolar.
- I enjoy admiration and stuff, maybe a bit too much, but I don't think I really need it.

I agree, but Jung seemed pretty serious about making it. Besides, the only truly accurate method of defining one's characteristics is through unfounded prejudice and stereotyping.

So, a few years ago I came across something called Socionics (http://www.wikisocion.org/en/index.php?title=Introduction_to_socionics). It's similar to MBTI (I think they're both based off the work of Jung), but different and not exactly compatible, even though personality types have similar names. (It's my understanding that it's pretty compatible regarding Extraverted personalities, but incompatible with Introverted types.)
(Example: In MBTI, I'm most definitely an INTJ. Yet in Socionics, I'm uncertain as to whether I'm an INTj (LII) or INTp (ILI). I think I lean more toward INTp/ILI, though.)
What I find particularly fascinating about Socionics is Intertype Relationships (http://www.socionics.com/rel/rel.htm)--which is essentially how people of each type interact with people of each type.
I'm not sure I completely subscribe to the idea of Socionics, especially the part about duals and the organization of Model A Functions, but I still find it really interesting.
The whole Socionics theory is really complex and in depth. I'm still not sure I really understand it all. (It doesn't help that they use shapes as symbols for the names of functions.) But some of the stuff is scary accurate.

Funny how there's a 97% chance I'm LII (INTj). The in-depth link (http://www.sociotype.com/socionics/types/ILI-INTp/) about ILIs is pretty spooky how accurate it is, though. Except for the Super-ego block; that only seems about half-right. Which is interesting, because I think that's the area where MBTI differs from Socionics.
If I'm an ILI, I'm definitely the Philosopher subtype (strong Introverted Intuition).

PHILOSOPHER (Ni-INTp)
The intuitive subtype seems to be a quiet, counterbalanced, even sluggish person. Their movements are smooth and slow. They’re internally timid but they attempt to hide this under a mask of irony. Are tactful, polite, and scrupulous. Tries to avoid straightforwardness and criticisms in their conversations; are affable and kind but seldom smile. Despite their attempts to hide weakness they are, nonetheless, internally rather sensitive, inconsistent and vulnerable; thus they often find themselves suppressed and dissatisfied, and from this stems negative moods and emotions. Their moods may further be afflicted due to the state of their health; they rarely discuss such problems with anyone. They keep people, psychologically, at a distance. Like to talk and tell things to people, meanwhile they possess good figurative thinking for they read/reflect much. Gait and movements are smooth, barely ever shaken.
More stuff: Apparently there are "portraits" of each type for both male and female. Physical traits, behaviors, and attitudes, mostly. Mine (http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin/content.php/83-Balzac-Female-portrait-INTp-by-Beskova) was pretty accurate too. I found this part to be particularly amusing:
Small children, around whom adults usually act like they are moved by their cuteness, don't appeal much to female ILIs - the senselessness of an infant who has to be breast-fed and the need to manifest emotions seems repulsive to them. They like it much more when children grow up a little, and they can talk with them, supply them with important information, discuss interesting problems, and teach them life.
Heheheheh. I love kids--heck, I work with kids--but babies and toddlers repulse me. Well, toddlers are borderline, but babies, absolute yuck. Age 3.5+ plz. (Uh oh, I predict a Suffix rebuttal...)
...Anyway.
If you guys take the test, it'd be interesting to check out the Intertype Relationships and see how it compares to everyone's actual interactions with each other.

Eh, I'd rather defend and promote tolerance of both the unborn and preschoolers+. They're overlooked and dismissed. Babies are the ones who steal the focus and get all the love and attention. Someone has a baby and people go crazy over them. Why? Because they're cute? New? Helpless? Psh, overrated.
Ever notice how no one seems to want to adopt children? It's always babies people want. Like young and older children are somehow undesirable and no longer "moldable" or have outlived their usefulness or something. Or the novelty has worn off and they're not "new" and "exciting" anymore.
I especially feel bad for older siblings who are overshadowed by the newborn baby. Besides, by the time kids are 4 they're pretty autonomous. Being potty-trained and not having bodily fluids oozing from every orifice (and when they do, they can take care of it themselves, for the most part) is a big plus in my book. Plus, you know, you can actually hold a conversation with a preschooler. Four-year-olds are especially awesome because elaborate pretending and using imagination dominates that age. I'm all about that. Plus you can actually start to use logic and reason with them at that age.
Human babies are the most helpless, needy, demanding, selfish creatures on the planet. They're completely and utterly dependent. And you pretty much have to wait until they're older (young toddlers) before you feel you get anything from it (that is, they can reciprocate love in an observable way). I don't blame them for any of this; it's not like they can help it or anything. But still, it's a major turn off. And the bodily fluids and smells...the horror.
For the record, I don't hate babies. I just prefer not to be around them. Like, ever. :P
Revisiting my first sentence, I also defend the unborn, as they're are overlooked and dismissed because people rationalize they're not "fully" human. And thus their worthiness to live is debatable and to be determined by the mother. Why living inside or outside the womb makes a difference when regarding "personhood," I'll never understand.
...But, we're straying from the topic. End spiel.

It's not living inside or outside the womb, it's having a functional brain and heart. If something doesn't have a functional brain and heart, it's not considered medically alive.
Also, I'd adopt a child if I could. :(
