I started this topic to see what the different Mario cameo appearances and references there are in other games and even movies and TV shows. Boy, are there a lot of them. Post your findings here!
NOTE: NO made up cameos. That means that you can't just say "oh, Mario appears in Duke Nukem II". Nor can you say that you think that there was a cameo but you aren't sure (i.e., "I think that I vaguely remember that there might have been a tiny reference to Mario in [X] game"). Other than that, you can post all your Mario reference knowledge here.

Well, this is where the signature goes...

The Sightings pages will be getting a massive update... soon.

Anything posted here that isn't in a previous mailbag might make the site.

Yes but that's not a MARIO cameo! Sure the boss was originally "Mar-i-oh", but it didn't make it into the final game.

But it was supposed to be.

Additionally, the boss shoots Mario-style fireballs that bounce in arcs along the ground, and, when he's low on life, he shrinks down to mini-size.

Well, I'd call it a cameo.  Or something.

well in this short Disney cartoon series called "The Weekenders" sometimes they play games at an aracde in some episodes and most of the time sounds from mario are heard such as collecting a coin or stomping an enemy.

-The Mario hat in Nintendogs (Incase nobody saw)
-In the Simpsons, Skinner mentions "before ... or Super Mario Men..."
-Not nessesarilly Mario, but on "Two & 1/2 Men", Jake can be seen playing a DS (In fact, it was the B story of two episodes!).  Unfourtunatly, he calls it a "Game Boy"
-In a game "Astrix and Oblix" (can't remember the name, based on a french comic) a group of people (Janitors, I think) all look like Mario and have a machine on their back that looks like FLUDD with exagerated features.  Also seen is a man with blue hair holding a ring (Sonic), a man with no arms or legs (Rayman) and a Ghost from Pac-man painted on a ballon, along with other Pac-man references.

Now that's some cameo finding! Bravo!
And I hate how people call the DS a "Game Boy DS". I once heard someone call it both a "Game Boy Advance DS" and a "Game Boy Advance 2".
