Video Game Chat / Nintendo to allow cross-platform multiplayer

We're launching Pure Chess and Knytt Underground later this year, and on Pure Chess we asked whether we could do cross-platform multiplayer, expecting it to be the typical closed console platform I've been used to working with for 20 years. Within a couple of days they said, 'yep, no problem. You can have other console players playing against Wii U players. You can have smartphone players play against them. No problem.'

Double that and you have my approximate age.  (I could relate somehow to every song on the list.)  On one hand, this is a triumph.. I've doubled my age since those musical numbers.  On the other hand, I'm posting on a (kiddie?) gaming site where most members are half my age. 

In other news, I just bought the new Black Sabbath Ozzy album.  (Does my use of the term album show my age?)

I remember reading Red Dwarf after THHGttG series and finding it very entertaining. A few months ago I watched a few episodes of the TV series, but didn't find them as funny as I remembered.  The books (the first two at least) were way funnier than the TV serial (and were written after the serial).  I had forgotten that until listening to the audio edition on Amazon today:  http://www.amazon.com/Red-Dwarf-Infinity-Welcomes-Careful/dp/B001BACZ2Y

I still think I'd rather read it on Kindle, but the audio book made me want to read (or at least listen to) it again.  I have the second book (Better than Life) in paperback, but had borrowed the first from a friend and having recently stored or given away all my paper books don't see getting it again until it's digital. 

Regardless, I recommend this series to anyone that enjoyed The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

As a member/follower of the aforementioned sites I still cannot get my fix.  Where do you get yours? 

(I also follow relatively mundane sites like CNN.com and news.Google.com.)

I'm looking for a browser game that starts out in monochrome goes to 8-bit, 16-bit, etc. or something like that. It's a sort of meta game in a Zelda like style that progresses through gaming generations adding colors, resolution, movement, etc. My daughter saw me playing it about a month ago and wants to play it now.  I thought I'd posted about it here, but didn't see it.
