Title: Should Mario return to Sarasaland?
Post by: Clark Beyer on January 15, 2006, 10:22:59 AM
Mario only went to Sarasaland in one game...do you think he should go back to rescuing Daisy again?

Frankly, I think Peach and Daisy should be able to defend themselves. :P

Or better yet, Peach could save Mario.

Super Princess Peach (p)review coming soon.

Yeah, especially since they made Peach a terrifying monster in SSBM. I voted Peach only because of Nintendo's new habit of putting voice clips in the new games.

Daisy since all she's done recently is play sports and party. It's high time for Tangata to return and kidnap her again.

Dasiy should be kidnapped again, but Luigi should save her. It's time for these two characters to step out of the shadows (For Luigi, this will be the third time or fourth counting SM64DS).

Tatanga should be a playable character. He or E. Gadd would've been way better than stupid R.O.B. But the thought of...
*Luigi peers into a barred window of a dank dungeon*
Daisy: WA-HOOOOOO! Luigi! You've come to rescue me!
At that point, I'd be like "Ah, nope, I've gotta go. Got a dentist appointment." Anyway, I don't think Aliens wil be the antagonist of a Mario game for a while, so soon after the Shroobs.

Yes I agree with you on that, but Bowser Jr. also could of made a good addition to MK:DS. We need more coverage of Sarasaland because all we know of it is some of the land (resembling Egypt, Easter Isalnd, etc).

Err... Not really Bowser Jr. I just don't like him. Just my opinion, it's terrible that they used his voice clips for Bowser Jr. in M&L:PiT. Oh well... But... why the crap is R.O.B. the last unlockable character? He's never been in a Mario game, he's actually only been in 2 games and from what I heard was an unsuccessful gimmick. And Yoshi55's idol.

I like the idea of Tatanga as a playable character! I mean, dome on. TWO robots in MKDS? (DK must be a robot... there's no way those teeth are natural)

Peach and Daisy can indeed fend for themselves.  Nintendo pays them to be defenseless damsels in distress. :P

I agree that Daisy should be in another game, but should be rescued by Luigi.  No big brothers to hog the action.

*shoots Mario with tranquilizer gun*
Me: Now's your chance Luigi!

You know, the idea of Luigi rescuing Daisy sounds awesome...oh yeah, I can see it now, another classic 2D sidescroller.  Traditional, too.  I'd buy it.

How about a remake of SMB, but when you play as Luigi you rescue Daisy?

Instead of suggesting Nintendo remake SMB over and over why don't you guys just play it and imagine all your little changes are taking place!

Because my NES is hard to get working, my SNES controller's broken (SMAS), I don't want to carry around both my DS and GBA (SMBDX), and I don't have the GBA remake! BAH!

Anyway, I don't think Aliens wil be the antagonist of a Mario game for a while, so soon after the Shroobs.
If I remember correctly, the most recent non-spin-off Mario game released before PiT was PM:TTYD, which featured aliens (X-Nauts) as the antagonist. ...Assuming the moon counts as "alien," which who knows if they're even originally from there. So, it seems alien antagonists are becoming all the rage. XD

...I'm aware that SM64 DS was released in between those, but it's sort of a remake, so... Yeah.

Why is Daisy the girl in the Mario movie and not Peach?    Is she supposed to be Luigi's woman?

I dunno why they didn't put Peach in the movie... but I like Daisy better anyway, so... meh. :D

I thought it was messed up that Peach wasn't in the movie. But anyway, Peach doesn't have a dad that we know of. Must of been Toadsworth.

But the movie had a little bit of romance between Luigi and Daisy.  I was a little disappointed that Peach wasn't in the movie, but that was because the only Mario games I had played when I first saw the movie (I've actually yet to see the full thing) were Super Mario World and Mariokart 64.  I had never really heard of Daisy till I got her trophy in SSBM.  Pathetic aren't I? (My parents didn't let me have game console/handheld till I was 12)

Yep, Bird PErson hates our Daisy, who could be Peach's cousin.

Daisy is Peach's sister, I think.
Title: Re: Should Mario return to Sarasaland?

I think she could be Peach's cousin but just as well she could be her cousin because we've never seen Peach's parents, have we?

I think if they make another game with Daisy in it it should star Luigi instead of Mario. I never much liked the new introduction of Daisy as the damsel~in~distress and if she is again it should be Luigi saving her.

Yes, Daisy and Luigi match. but Daisy and Mario is a no-no.

There are Daisy fans on this forum, lol.

BTW... I think Daisy's larger than an item box. XD

That's Daisy-killing-land, home of the largest cannon, and the smallest Daisy.
Edit: I typo'd wedding... I'm working on the cannon's effects!

Hey, I've just noticed something... Luigi would be pretty mad at Daisy's death, he would be destroying the cannon with something. And, uh, rescuing Daisy somehow.

I actually think it would be funny to see a game where both Peach and Daisy get rescued. Think about this: Mario rescues Princess Peach and then it says"to be continued",and you are taken to another world where you have to go through levels and rescue the Princess Daisy.

Daisy should be rescued because... Nothing has happened to her in a very very very very very long time :D

And I think that we all should go back to the Chai Kingdom once again and dance to the Awesome Chinese Song, but in a 3-D way I guess uh yeah ^_^"

Daisy, to me, doesn't seem like kidnapping material.  She's just not "girly" enough.  Peach, on the other hand, is a damsel in distress to the max.  That confused look in her eye, the pale skin, the complete and utter innocence.  We can all see her behind bars in Bowser's castle, right?  I mean, I can see Daisy saving Luigi, but Luigi saving Daisy just doesn't seem to cut it.  She's more sensable and tought, dare I say it...

That is true about Daisy. She's more out going and that would be neat to go and see her rescue poor Luigi :D

Maybe an RPG where Peach gets kidnapped... and Bowser tries to kidnap Daisy, but fails... Mario goes to rescue Peach, but is made evil! Now, Luigi, Daisy, Yoshi and Toad must rescue Peach, return Mario, and beat Bowser!

...

Wow, that ended up sounding like an ad. XD

I voted that Daisy should be rescued, but I also think that Luigi should be the one saving her, not Mario (like he did nearly 20 years ago now).

We should revisit Sarasaland in either a psuedo-remake (replacing Mario with Luigi, updating the music, and.. other such things), or just a new game where Luigi has been called to Sarasaland to rescue Daisy.

It would be better if Mario saved Peach and in "The Luigi Games"Luigi saves Daisy,But Peach has been around longer so I vote Peach.

Still, I think a game in Sarasaland would be good. Possibly in the next Mario RPG? The world may never know.

Nobody seems to realize that Daisy was created in a freak accident. Gunpei Yokoi named the Princess Daisy in SML even though it was intended to be Peach. She didn't become her own unique character until Mario Tennis 64, when the folks at Camelot Software Planning thought Luigi needed a doubles partner. As for "Daisy" appearing in the movie, well that was a mistake on part of the director, because around that time the Princess was never referred to as Peach, only Princess Toadstool. Guess they played SML and assumed that was "Toadstool"'s first name.

Silly directors oughta've done some research before making that movie, or at least hire a person from NOA to supervise.  But then there'd be more Luigi/Peach fans.  I lean more toward the Luigi/Daisy and Mario/Peach pairings.  So naming the movie's princess 'Daisy' kinda helped provide a love interest for the younger brother in the franchise.  Although why they used the name Koopa when the villain had already gotten his permanent US name of Bowser, I don't think I'll ever understand.
Title: Re: Should Mario return to Sarasaland?
Post by: The Chef on July 11, 2006, 05:13:24 PM
He was called Koopa in the US-made SMB Super Show, so they probably went with that.

Sarasaland was an unintentionaly created world and therefore Shigeru Miyamoto wouldn't use it again because he never has used it because he didn't create SML.

Miyamoto rarely ever decides what's used and what isn't anymore. He's only the producer these days.
