Title: Happy New Year!
Post by: Robert on December 31, 2007, 11:17:00 PM
So, right now, in my timezone, it's 2008. So, how's 2008 so far? Got any New years resolutions?

I wish they would set the clock back a couple of minutes. I missed the countdown >:(. Otherwise, the year has been pretty good to me.

As for resolutions, if we can try to refund our broken exercise equipment, I would like to start a new exercise routine. So, how about the rest of you?

I've only experienced 12 minutes of 2008, so nothing has happened to me, yet.

I watched the countdown via Animal Crossing: Wild World. I guess my resolution would be to learn to cook something besides ramen on the stove.

My first word in the new year was "whooooooo!"

Me too. I've done this for three years straight and have been announcing the time remaining in #tmk for two years.

My friends and I all toasted with pop after the ball dropped. I had just seconds before 2008 asked where the toaster and bread was, but there was none :(.

But yes, this new year, I pray, will be an excellent one. Hopefully I'll be able to eat better foods, exercise more consistently (try every day), get along with everyone, and conquer OCD/my too fast brain.

Every day is the beginning of a new year for me. This is the only time the numbers change.

This year rocks. I'm sitting with family sipping a glass of bubbly. No girl to kiss though :(

My resolution is to stop visiting the Fungi Forums. Later, everyone.

No New Year's resolution for me. My goal for the year carries on from 2007, and hopefully I won't sit on my thumbs anymore now that I've taken initiative.

Also, I plan on being even more successful and thus more self centered.

My resolution is to study more diligently. My scholarships depend on it! There's no room for error this semester!

My resolution is to get a job, stop being so depressing and cynical, and to stop being a hardcore procrastinator.

Well put.

I resolve nothing, but I'd just like to say that--for me, at least--2007 sucked. My baby cousin lost the top of her finger and got MRSA, there was a massive, tri-county-wide flood that basically took out my grandparent's farm, and my great-grandma died--and this was all in the last three months! And, of course, there was the California wildfires, Virginia Tech, the Minneanapolis bridge collapsing... Well, at least there was plenty of great Wii/DS games to get me through it... oh, wait, there wasn't. Nevermind.

My resolution is to lose my job, start being really depressing and cynical, and become a hardcore procrastinator.

Dangit I was going to say 1280x1024...

First words I said were "(about 1 minute of silence)...Well maybe I should go mute for the rest of this year."

Resolutions:
>Finish Programming "Mario and Luigi Stargate"...
>Finish Drawing my "Max and Buzz" Comic Book...
>Finish Programming "Spaceman Spiff X2"...
>Start a Thread called "Calvinball"...
>Find someone who actually knows how to play "Calvinball" and play it...
>Beat the song "Through the Fire and Flames" on Guitar Hero 3...
>Get a Pogo stick or Trampoline...
>Set a World record on recently bought Pogo Stick/Trampoline...
>Never cut my Hair for this year, so it is really long...
>Say Hi to every Fungi Forum Member...
>Fix my #@$*! Glasses which broke on New Year's Eve...

Yeah... I'll stop there. This is gonna be one hell of a year.

^ ...Are you my long-lost relative? Killer resolutions!

As for Calvinball... the score is Q to 12!

Don't worry, it's an old, unfunny joke anyway.

I don't have any resolutions, because if I did, I'd break them very quickly.

That and I don't wanna lose weight. That resolution's just stupid, in my opinion.

If the resolution is to lose weight, that's easy. Just go to the bathroom.

My baby cousin lost the top of her finger and got MRSA
Were these two events related?

First of all, I thought it was MERSA. Also, they are related because MRSA is a bacteria that can infect through open wounds.

But what he said does not necessarily imply a cause-and-effect relationship. ShadowBrain's cousin could have first gotten MRSA and then lost her finger due to reduced blood flow (when very sick, the body reduces circulation to the limbs so as to save oxygen for the vital organs).

Her finger slammed in a door.

The Izuna people have an... interesting New Year card.

I would never think door-slamming would be strong enough to cut off part of a finger. But then again, babies have less bone then we do.

As for me, it snowed here today. It didn't accumulate, but it was still pretty.

This year I resolve to .. (in no particular order)

- spend more time online (thus not neglecting my email)

- actually pick up and read through the many "how to draw" books that I have

- post the fruits of that labor here on TMK

-recieve feed-back

- come up with more witty signature material

- get a new job

-get married (May 30th! Woot!)

.. and some other stuff that are too numerous to list.

This year I will...

- Get a new lap top (if your wondering why, look at the picture on page 255 of the ANGST Thread)

- Do better at school

- stop hurting myself (I'm very clumsy)

- be more productive at the Fungi Forums

It was in that little opening between the hinges and the door when a door is open.

At least it'll give her something interesting to tell her friends about when she's older.

Plus, scars are cool.

This year, I plan to:

Learn to play real guitar, for real
See Cloverfield, Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Iron Man
Start drawing my Adventures of TV-Head comic book
Learn to drive (I should really get on that...)
